I thought our 1-7 all rode well for their first home meeting of the season. We’ve also scored 40+ and Poole and Berwick whilst chucking some points away, think the boys deserve some credit.
I do agree that it was brilliant to see some competitive racing again at the dale.
Definitely the away performances have been great so far. I should be more positive, you are right. Hopefully a fun season ahead.

Your scepticism is justified. Josh misses the gate same as always and at Armadale that's a real issue, Lasse hits the fence a lot, Kye is inconsistent, Paco....is Paco, Justin is 'new', Connor can gate better than Bastian but is that enough.. and Max is great and I want to see his progression. In summary we aren't better than last season. But as long as there is good racing I don't mind at all.

Kye is just inconsistent. He'll win a heat you least expect then miss the gate and be way off the pace in others. Personally, I'm glad he's back with us as I'm eternally hopeful he'll get that consistency.

(Not quite sure the same for sitting)...
However. The factor that is the main gamble for the four meeting option is that it only really favours Aces and maybe Sheffield fans..
(About 3500 max between them in total if they all turn up.)
For everyone else, 90 mins plus away from the track, four trips there and back wont be something to look forward to and will cost a fair few quid in transport costs..
And for those further afield, the inevitable hotel costs will be another "big outlay"...
Going to be a tough sell I feel, but hopefully wrong..
Me and my lad will go to the final and watch the rest on TV..
£180 or so for both of us for all the meetings and we would have gone to all four..
The last time it was just two meetings, and, to be fair, the price per meeting isn't that much more..
But. Getting enough to fork out for all four to make the first 3 meetings look good in TV will be the main challenge..
You make some great points. I'd like to ask a question for those 'in the know'. I went to SWC in Wroclaw last year (incredible trip, would highly recommend) and the two semis and race off were pretty poor by what I had expected from that track but apparently it was to preserve the track for the final. I don't know if that's true, but if it is then is the NSS in a similar situation?

We were planning to go to the SoN2 / Final (Fri + Sat) - 3 adults and a 14 year old. Hotel is £450 for the two days , SoN £380/£245 approx depending on whether standing or sitting. Not included return train from London and then of course food and drinks over the weekend. So for a weekend in Manchester, all in probably looking at £1000+
I will see what the kids want to do BUT personally I would rather spend more and go to Torun for a SGP.
When I first saw the cost I don't think they will be needing the temp stand on bends 3/4
When you put it like that I'd be taking the Torun option.

Very much in agreement.

Roynon is terrible but at least he's off commentary now. Much easier to mute.

I'm all for home advantage usually but this was pretty dangerous and I'm really surprised it wasn't fixed earlier.

Agreed. Pretty poor that they didn't address this earlier but they appear to have got very lucky.

listen there will never be a woman speedway world champion in a million years, not even a transgender man/ woman, not unless zmarzlic comes clean,
Fortunately there aren't many like you out there. What an embarrassment.

Also are the riders racing for free / expenses only? I always thought they did, but I remember reading an interview with Simon Lambert last year, where he suggested it was like getting paid practice?
So when I see comments like "it's for a good cause" to make people who who are questioning the price look bad, I think if it's for a good cause why are the riders getting paid? Plus the Ben Fund always used to get the fines issued from the BSPL (or was it the SCB) which apparently stopped a year or two back. Why would they take money away from such a good cause? That seems far worse than a fan suggesting £23 is too much!
If people have issues over an additional £3 then they really shouldn't be spending £20 on going to speedway anyway as there are real life priorities to be taken care of. I would hope nobody would spend money on any sporting event over food, heating, bills and essential clothing.

1 hour ago, King Jamie said:"we", as in myself and any other Monarchs / speedway fans who may agree with me.
You appear to not be in agreement with my thoughts. That's not a problem. Fair play and all that.
It may well be that I am the only Monarchs / speedway fan to whom it matters. Not really something we could prove either way. You're more than welcome to undertake a fan survey in an attempt to find out?
I'm well aware what my name is m'dear. The difference being, this is an online forum for, amongst others, terracing nobodies such as myself. Nothing official about it.
By comparison:
British Speedway website - he's referred to as Josh.
In the Monarchs programme, it's Josh.
Monarchs website - it's Josh everywhere I've looked, apart from in the live updates for some reason. Official channels should stick to official names at all times and on a consistent basis.
I've always been annoyed at the use of inaccurate ID. It goes back a number of years. For example, several tracks have printed / announced riders by referring to them as:
Dalle Andersson (instead of Daniel)
Thomas Jonasson (missing the vital H in the middle)
Rusty Harrison (instead of Russell)
Willie Lawson (instead of William)
Paco Castagna (instead of Michele)
The list is endless.
A poor show.
His instagram account is Joshie, as is his merchandise.

The dreaded brown envelope finally made it through. Fortunately for the Monarchs rising costs and ridiculous estimates mean we'll get another season.

You've tried too hard there it doesn't make sense, but fair play for effort. Considering yourself a 'big boy' is quite incredible. You really are quite the show, as always.
See you in court....no, wait

Maybe have him up with Tai, Edinburgh Speedway and the many others you've pissed your pants about. Such a drama all the time with you.

3 points compared to (paid) 21 points from the respective reserves says it all really.
Newman was superb tonight. He showed great determination and bravery. Well done Kyle.
