Assuming Leicester are still running NDL then surely the Thompsons will be riding for them on Saturdays?

Leicester will have new Owners won't they?

Surely more financially prudent to run PL only

    Most think no NDL anyway.

Could generate far more money running Saturday Training sessions surely than NDL.

    1. Danny King

    2. Jason Edwards

    3. Connor Mountain/Drew Kemp

    4. Leon Flint

    5. Charles Wright

    6. Jake Mulford

    7. Luke Harrison

Erik Riss (to Edinburgh?), Connor Bailey (to Workington?), Danyon Hume (???) Out

Leon Flint, Connor Mountain and Luke Harrison In

Keeps the main core of last years pretty successful team together but...

    1. Replacing the unreliable (last year anyway, understandably) Riss with Flint, who needs a change from Berwick imo

    2. Replacing Connor Bailey with Connor Mountain/Drew Kemp... Pretty like for like tbh, but I can see Bailey leaving for Workington

    3. Bringing in Luke Harrison (which I think is pretty nailed on) for Danyon Hume, who I just can't see back at Redcar next year for some reason...

Hopefully Charles is fit in time for the new season...

Another option for that number 3 position would be Kyle Newman or Jonas Knudsen... All similar riders, depends on who's available/lowest price etc...

Can't see Tom Brennan at Redcar

Like that team. All British. Nice balance.

    Probably prefer Mountain to Kemp

Think Kerr could be a shout, the promotion do seem to like him. Barker will inevitably be back so that could be the top 2. Pearson and Trigger maybe, don’t see Gilkes or Howarth returning.

Can't see Kerr wanting a trip from deepest East to deepest West every week

    Barker, Trigger nailed on.

I'd be surprised if Pearson, Thompson and Bowtell weren't in strong contention.

Can't see Howarth or Gilkes back either.

Getting 2 good Heat Leaders will be main job on  Saturday night

  4. Never liked the track or the fans to be honest.

Tribal loyalty though goes out if the window when the chips are down.

I genuinely feel for those who loved the team, loved the track and loved their nights out there.

As others have said its about lifetime memories, friends and relatives no longer here and the massive big hole left behind.

Hopefully they can find a new home, I 100% hope they do.

  5. Jack Thomas and Anders Rowe have no luck with injuries but have sadly to be seen as a risk as a result.

Kyle Newman has had shoulder issues since his Birmingham days pre Covid

Any 2 pointers won't have has the track time at Poole that others may have had riding NDL at places like Berwick, Edinburgh, Oxford, Workington or extensive practice options at Scunny, Redcar. So right 2 pointer choice for Poole with little practice options will be key.

Lawson and Cooks look obvious but beyond that lots of decisions to make.

Peter Oakes running a piece in the Star saying that the 'new' track might be Brafield.

No surprise if you read the thread. Peter usually has his finger on the pulse.

I think the main problem with Braefield is that whilst it's within an hour of a massive catchment area its actually in the middle of nowhere.

Because at start of season he indicated would be his last in the championship so was left out of team building for next year.

We'll that's a bit of a Billy Big Bollocks attitude if true.

The likes of Ryan Douglas and Josh Pickering I can fully understand but Brennan is 2 to 3 seasons away from that consistency level at least, if ever.

So did I but they have apparently only one team place to fill and Tom is not in the plans,

With Kerr not being retained by Oxford wonder if Brennan is a shoe in at Oxford.

No chance Plymouth would touch him after his antics there last few seasons and he is very poor round Poole.

Not many other options on his aveage?

Only @Cast1rn has a fascination with their averages. Which are 7.39 for Ben and 6.22 for Zach. Ben's seem what you would expect imo. Maybe Zach's would be considered false considering the form he is on atm. If you want them, you would have to get rid of at least Basso or Harris are maybe even both and have King as no1 for example.

Cook brothers will end up like Kurtz brothers.

A decent PL heat leader and international level (Ben) and a journeyman PL reserve and CL second string respectively. (Zach)

    As with Brady and Todd

That area has been looked at and an approach made to the BCM but the BCM are not interested in leasing/selling any of the land that they own for Speedway, as for the old Freightliner Depot it was earmarked by the late Nigel Pearson for a joint project with Gornal FC but Dudley MBC in there wisdom had earmarked it for other developments, to my way of thinking that land was/is ideal and would have brought more visiters to both the BCM and Dudley Zoo but again Speedway seems to be frowned upon and placed at the bottom when it comes to locating a new Track for Speedway, basically despite the public protestations that Speedway is wanted in Dudley neither major political party has made the slightest effort to help or encourage the return of the Heathens, in fact at the present time we can't even get a reply to emails/letters sent to various Councillors of Dudley MBC and I include the Council leader and Deputy leader in those comments.

It's a shame the Refs box and old domed Pits weren't taken to BCM when Dudley Wood closed.

They were Black Country folklaw after all.

There's clearly more than 9 available, wether they are up to the correct standard is up for debate. I'd certainly prefer an RS rule to be under 3.50, feel it's a shame if the riders just above 2 (up to Pijper) could miss out.

I think they'll have riders like Pijper and Trigger, Harrison who have had a valiant attempt too early on a Rising Star rating so that they can be assured of another bash and not penalised for getting teams out of a mess.

Unless they have something specific in mind and have received some encouragement on it then not much

One place that may be viable would be on land adjacent to the Black Country museum and the old Freightliner hub nd Zoo and Castle.

It must have been seriously considered many times and discarded for some reason.

He's been named in the Teesside Silver Helmet line up, so can't have burned the bridges too far.

    Thanks for clarifying.

He could be nailed on to go back there then with Erik Riss not at his best and Charles Wright having a long road back to fitness.

A number of clubs will probably be hoping Richie Worrall somehow avoids a 2 year ban.

  14. Sunday afternoon 2pm ish might work well for Comets if Berwick and Plymouth are Saturday night Teams.

Possibly Kyle Howarth might prefer the trip to the North West more than the South West and be really suited by the wide open spaces?

If Lewis Kerr is surplus to requirements at Oxford another possible fit. Can't see him at Poole or Plymouth or Scunthorpe. Not sure if he burned his bridges at Redcar so Worky would be bext nearest?

How about James Wright if Brummies step up to PL.?

All three racers on what seems to be a proper race track.
