    workington ..

Certainly looks like a good smooth spacious track. Congratulations to all that have worked on the project so far, it’s looking good ! Hopefully it will never see banger racing or stox .
  2. That was frightening to watch. Just hope that Dan comes through this one OK especially after his previous bad injuries. Best wishes Dan for a good and full recovery.
  3. Likewise for Robert Lambert, i think they've both been impressive this year, but as others have said its just developing that final cutting edge to their style. Its a pleasure watching both Robert and Dan this year.
  4. It’s river speedway in Gorzow for the Gp
  5. Raining in Berwick and Gorzow now. Look at netweather.tv and it looks like could be more to come. All the dry weather we’ve had and now we get this

    2022 ISLE OF MAN TT

Very sad that five riders have tragically died on the course this past couple of weeks. RIP and my thoughts are with their families, and I can't imagine what the Stockton family are going through having lost a father and son in their sidecar crash.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

Just watched the European moto2 and moto3 from Barcelona today. Some standout performances in 2 and 3 , maybe Casey and Jack's Aussie successor is working his way towards motogp. Outstanding in both races today in moto2 was sixteen year old aussie rookie Senna Agius winning from behind on the last lap in the first race, and in the second wining by twelve seconds after passing the far more experienced Tulovic on lap five. Very impressive, quick and cool and didn't put a foot wrong in only his fifth and sixth races in the class aged 16. In moto 3 two good wins for the impressive young Rueda, and Filippo Farioli really caught the eye with his racing out of the chasing back for two third place finishes. Both seem certain to go full moto3 next season.

    Brandon Update

My brother told me about this last night, it looks much worse than I thought it was. I’m absolutely mortified that in this day and age companies can get away with it, but that’s the way this country is these days . There’s zero real policing, this government don’t give a monkies about proper planning or what real people want. If you can afford it you can get away with anything these days. It’s the destruction of my teens and early twenties, it is sacrilege.
  9. Also on this site with Pol Div 2 match on the same channel.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

I thought Ogden did very well over the last couple of races and is now more or less on the pace of the front running pack. Once he gets used to that pace and the mayhem in the group he should start getting some better results, hopefully. And we're off again today at Jerez, should be a good weekend with speedwayGp as well. This year I've become more interested in moto2 as the racing has been closer and competitive, but it was incredible when they all went down like nine pins one after the other on Sunday. Believe the general opinion was another damp patch had appeared that caught them out. Thought it was very unfair that a lot of the guys weren't allowed to take part in the restart although they appeared to be ready to go. Jake really had a good chance of victory, but I often feel that he lacks concentration at times. Overall another good weekends racing, you could always dash over the border to wave the flag in Jerez on Sunday lol.

    New Cross

Saw the thread title and thought it must be about Easter and an ancient tale of the custom of dragging a cross and a frying pan through the streets of London, to a newly discovered sacred site.

    Berwick Bandits 2022

Brilliant experience for young riders. We really should thank the Poles for training our future(we hope) riders , and giving them wider experience and knowledge of proper quality speedway tracks.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

Just watching moto3 combined session in the wet, young Ogden doing well in P9 at the moment. Good luck to everybody tomorrow and will keep my eyes peeled for the flag. Enjoy the weekend you lucky man.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

You lucky man, but then it's your home these days lol. Enjoy the weekend and we shall look forward to your trackside reports Hopefully young Ogden is beginning to settle in the higher quality of racing, I expect he rode Algarve in the Talent Cup which should give him a bit more confidence for the circuit. I get the feeling that both Moto2 and MotoGP are both wide open this season, though I think Moto3 is going to quickly become a tight race between Foggia, Guevara, Garcia and maybe Masia.

    Nigel Pearson RIP

Shocked and saddened by the news, life never seems to be fair. Not my favorite commentator, but he certainly did a lot for speedway. Monday nights will sadly never be the same again . My thoughts are with his devastated family and colleagues and friends. Rest in Peace Nigel
  16. Good luck to everybody concerned with the resurrection of Oxford. Spent many an evening booing Oxford from the third bend in my youth, but it's great to see them back. Next is to get my old spot back on the back straight at Brandon . I can dream eh ! Congratulations to everybody who never gave up hope. As Bluebee said go to general speedway discussions and support the revival of Brandon bid.

    Berwick Bandits 2022

It depends what you’re looking for, if you want to be in town there are a few good B&B places in Berwick plus Premier Inn. A few miles south or north on the coast quite a few B&B and hotels in good locations like Bamburgh , Seahouses Amble, Beadnell, Craster and Boulder and Warkworth to the South and St.Abbs and Eyemouth and Coldingham to the North. You’re likely to find they’re not as good value these days due to covid and staycation, and some have been charging ripoff prices in the summer months.. good luck and have a good weekend trip.

That's interesting info dj350z. I always liked Pedrosa and his battles with Tony Elias. It was always clear that Elias thought Pedrosa was an inferior rider, but Pedrosa proved otherwise. Seem to remember Elias always said that Pedrosa beat him because he was so light and a titch. If you've got the skill it doesn't matter how small you are. I also missed out Chantra in Moto2, incredible improvement from the lad to take a win and second from the last two races, seems like the old guard is changing in the top two classes.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

Racing has been excellent in all three classes so far this season . Very impressed with Aldeguer in Moto2 , do believe he matured to the age of seventeen this week, but his form in Argentina was remarkable for someone so young and sad to see him be taken out by Vietti. Beginning to think he could be this years hot property to follow Acosta. Unusual for him to be in a junior big bike class before coming to moto2 as well. We’ll have to see what Austin brings. I seriously think it’s time for Marquez to call it a day, he seems to be riding his luck at every GP these days. All the rookies in MotoGP seem to be having a tough time , though I thought Fernandez would be further up than he has been so far. Moto3 looks like being another good year with Garcia, Guevara , Foggia and Massia probably the principle scrappers for the title.. Have my doubts that the two young Brits are going to make any sort of a breakthrough this year.

I do believe it might have been leukaemia, but not 100% certain.

The fine sight of Booey and Col on a five one coming off turn one onto the back straight at Brandon in the first heat, was a regular treat in the sixties. Used to know Col quite well when he had his unit near the ring road, one of the good guys and an oft underrated rider. Was so shocked when I came back to the UK in 83 to learn of his sad passing at such a young age. RIP Col

    Jim Lightfoot

Hi Bob, as far as I know and touch wood Jim is still doing fine. It was Jim who got me into speedway in the 50's as he used to work with my old man. In the 60's he had a body shop business in Exhall with with Mick Blackburn who used to be team manager at Brandon at one time. I trust that most of all of the old teams of the fifties and sixties at Brandon are still going strong, and I assume that John H and Nigel H are still in the hotel and golf course business. I remember that 1963 Final at Wembley I was there and I think Jim made reserve the following season.

    Moto Gp, 2 And 3

Just four weeks to go and counting and then life gets back to normal After this weekends testing it looks like the rookies won’t be too far off the pace, especially Bezzecchi who was sixteenth only .5 sec behind the fastest time of Bastianini. I quietly fancy Fernandez to be the most successful of the rookies.

    Who is number six?

Surely it's easier to start a new thread if you want to change the matter under discussion, rather than hijack a thread.
