Is Phil Morris or anyone actually doing anything to save speedway? If anyone knows please let me know because I dont see anything.

The only actual effort appears to be Steve Ribbons at Rye House.

If efforts are being made they should be visible. I got my MP actively involved he showed me efforts made by the Wolves MP for example. I wrote to everyone I could think of speedway star, BSPA office etc . Nothing only silence. It really is crap beyond any reasonable words I could ever publicly use.

I can assure you that there are continuing efforts to bring Cradley Heathens back, however we more often than not bump into the wall of ignore when approaching landowners to lease land for Speedway, more recently we seem to have received the same response (or lack of it) from Dudley Councillors when contacting them about relocation, I personally am of the opinion that we should now be setting up a PR campaign actually criticising the Council for it's lack of help in identifying a suitable site and telling us why such and such a site is not suitable, they the Council have NEVER said no that site is suitable but if you could do this maybe it could be considered, it's obvious after 28 years or so without a Track there is no ideal site in Dudley which is not helped by the Councils attitude.

Two peas from the same pod.Perhaps that's why we might be looking at South Staffs.

I'm pretty sure Dave Parry (Parry's Coaches) has contacts around the Cheslyn Hay area whether or not that would be to far for Wolverhampton fans I have no idea but it would'nt surprise me if some land was found around that area.

  3. Whatever help Wolverhampton council give to Wolves Speedway will be better than what Cradley have received from Dudley Council, we can't even get a reply to emails sent to various Councillors with regards possible new locations, it almost seems that we have been placed on ignore hoping that we will go away.

  4. Sorry to say Pirates were like F1 out of the starts whereas Brum were walking out, feel sorry for the Promoter and the crowd they deserve better, maybe it's unfair to compare Brum with Poole but the Brummies were miles off it, I think Starkey is finished, Danny disappointing, Sedgy chalk and cheese comparing his Brum and Leicester scores, Batch a reasonable return but all in all Brum beaten by a far better team, I do believe I can see young Sam getting to grips with the Championship he certainly likes to ride the wide lines.

Thanks "bbc" breakfast this morn no mention of dan,now if only he could kick a ball like a woman.

Or wack a ball over a net and scream, Now I know Speedway in the UK is down and almost out, but I have never in all my life known anyone that plays Tennis let alone anyone that watches it except for the annual bash at SW19, yet we get daily updates on numerous media outlets, I guess Speedway fans don't have BBC accents ;).

Looking forward to coming up for this one. Can we still park at the One Stop? If not, where?

I am in Birmingham all day. Is there any place actually worth visiting in the area? Struggling to think of anything.

As for the meeting, I am guessing a guest for Morris. But whoever Brum get in shouldn’t really make much of a difference and I can only see a Pirates win here. Would be disappointing if we didn’t. Quite a few Poole fans making the trip up, and heard there’s a small coachload coming as well.

    The weather looks set fair.

AS others have said plenty to see and do in and around Brum but beware of the clean air zone if you plan on driving into the city centre.

    Enjoy your journey up.

  7. Tonights cricket at Edgbaston was a  T20 QF Warwickshire Bears v Essex Eagles, 3 hours of almost none stop action in a modern Stadium all for £10 per ticket, that's the price Richard Willford said on Radio WM tonight, and that is the kind of competition Speedway is up against and really has no chance of winning as things stand.

Signing of starke confirmed,  please explain the missed opportunity?

I think BrizHeathen means the opportunity to have either Bowtell, Nielsen or Starke at reserve for the remainder of the season, if they are all fit and well then whichever one is at reserve surely should score a good few points, rare opportunity to see Starkey having a shortish journey for his home meetings.

Just got home. The M6 was absolutely appalling.  #viaCoalvilleNextTime

I thought it would be decided between the two Premiership Northern Clubs ... and it was.but in the semi.  Not sure Musielak was ever really comfortable with the track though.

Fair play to Richie Worrall he was the best rider on track tonight (with Klindt a close 2nd) but Panthers never had a hope in the final.  Cook was always coming last against Aces & Tigers pairings.

Jorgensen was awful.. never looked like scoring.  Riss & Masters were not much better. Steve Worrall rode well & was involved in probably the best two races being overhaled by his brother & Holder.

Fair play to Kemp did well for an RS bet Leicester wish they'd chosen Harris or Lawson rather than Sedgeman now. He was poor.

Racing wasn't as good as Aces visit a few weeks ago and neither were the two Lions riders.  Dude on microphone said it was slicker than normal.  It suited Kurtz better (eventually)  once Bewley allowed him the outside gate.  Fricke wasn't as spectacularly awesome as Belle Vue's humbling either .

M6 without any shadow of doubt is the worst Motorway in the country, but I am sure there are a few contenders for the title of worst Motorway maybe we could have a worst pairs ie M6 & M25 anyone ?.

  10. Comments from John Louis about the role of Phil Morris

“We want to enhance the professionalism and integrity of the league, as well as making it simple, transparent and fun for the fans to view and understand, and to improve the product and put British speedway back at the top of the tree. Phil can help us do that.”

So much for the integrity following on from the none appearance of Laguta at Monmore on Monday.

  11. With only a few days left to see out June will we get news of the meeting that the Promotion are due to have (late June) with the landlords of Perry Barr or will it be silence ?, whatever the outcome of the meeting I would hope that we get a press release, This meeting will have a bearing on Speedway in the West Midlands and I hope the outcome will be positive.

Because thats working so well in Rugby Union.....clubs need a budget to work to that is proven to be affordable otherwise the few that are left will go like many before them.

I take it you mean a Budget as in each individual Team ?, because if it's the same budget for every team there is no way of policing it, as it stands we don't have a monetary budget but we have a points limit/budget and that doesn't work either, lets face it Kings Lynn should be in the Championship and so should Peterborough but for the sake of British speedway having a Premier League and a bit of TV money Buster kept both of them in a League where they are making it a joke League, RIP British speedway with these clowns running it.

I really believe there will be further tweaks to this Brummies lineup.  Will all depend on how many points are available when the new averages come out.

Its great to get the win but it was a close victory against a fellow struggler.

Another heat leader on the radar but will the numbers game allow it????

I would not be surprised if you prove to be correct, because if you do get an opportunity to strengthen up due to points you would be foolish not to take it.

That’s me just over an hour away from Perry Barr. Really looking forward to tonight’s meeting.

Going to try and get in as early as possible as I hear Birmingham have a great home support and I want to have a good view.

    Come on the Bandits

Enjoy the meeting, one thing for sure it aint going to get rained off, I think i might well come along myself. Oh by the way get yourself some food before you go in the Stadium, the food inside is expensive and not great value for money.

Well, he wasn't called 'Little P' for nothing! I stood near him at the P&P day last year, and he only came up to my shoulder.

The trouble with him this year was that, like others in the team, he seems to have lost his gating skills.

From a pretty reliable source, I don't think there was to much help and advice coming from the more senior riders, and that is vital for youngsters trying to make there way in the Sport, personally I think they were probably to busy trying to sort out there own issues.

So lets presume Hagon for Pearson and a solid 3rd heat leader for Wright (Howarth?). What other changes are coming? Surely Nielson will be replaced?

There are some gems out there, its just the small matter of finding them.

Again more points available when the next lot of averages are released, 2 or 3 maybe?  Rew for Neilson????

I haven't done any maths but all of a sudden I see a very solid lineup.

The 2 names that I have heard mentioned are one newcomer and one old hand ie Rew and Andersen, would they both fit ?, I think Rew would be a very good signing, Andersen is just earning his pension money these days.

    James Pearson has been dropped.

This gives the Brummies a tiny bit extra to utilise the 4 points average that James was on, Sam Hagon anyone ?, because I think to strengthen the top end they will need a 2 pointer Hagon for Pearson, they seem to be similar riders average wise in the NDL but Sam's Championship average is 2 as opposed to James 4 points which gives Brum more to play with average wise, bad luck on James but it seems the new manager is not messing around.
