  1. Ive heard but only just retired so couod be lured back out if it if he still has his bikes potentially
  2. Not suggesting either sam or celina should be replaced here but who'd actually be available to replace sub 4.00 average at championship level who missed out on a spot who isnt a 2.00 rider? Ben Morley? 4.56 Stefan Nielsen? 3.85 Adam Roynon? 3.50 Max Clegg ? 3.95 Jack Smith? 2.90 Dont know if the above averages would be subject to british reduction. Seems a very small pool of riders available at champ level sub 5.00 if teams are looking to make changes IMO. I think a lot of teams are just going to stick with What they have at the bottom end of their teams barring Smith likely securing a spot at Glasgow after last night. If I was in workingtons shoes id be using celina at 7 so shes out against a reserve in all her rides as she seems the more likely to score well out of her and sam so give her the best opportunity to do so
  3. Yes granted, good ti hear she was on the pace too. Hopefully she gets dialled in at home and improves away. Thanks for the update. Out kf interest how did batch look when in second, was he going gung-ho for first or had he surrendered 1st in course of the race? Hes an enogma for sure. Why pit yourself in a situation as potentially dangerous as speedway and not go all out when your pay is determined on your points return (unless he has a cushy retainer)
  4. Just to clarify im not suggesting or hoping she be sacked. I really hope she does well. Its more a question of knowing which british riders who missed out on team spots at championship are actually waiting in the wings and wanting a spot should an opportunity arise and not called retirement subsequently. Are there any other riders who arent 2 pointers who are without clubs outside Clegg, Morley, Neilsen or Roynon who are available. Is James Wright available post injury? Just referring back to your point about sacking the only female rider would be a PR disaster. If after 10 meetings shes not hitting at least an average of 3 then WHY shouldnt she be replaced? Her coming in at reserve on an assessed 4.00 average is very high considering a lot of her reserve counterparts are 2.00 For me personally id love to see those championship reserve berths reserved for british riders only preferably under the age of 24 and grow our opportunities for rider progression from the NDL Appreciate theres not a plethora of riders possibly at championship level in the NDL without clubs but theres a lot more 2.00 riders being used this year which could open a door for say a Danny Phillips type rider who was on the phone to Redcar for a team spot over the winter. Proof will be in the pudding whether Celina can live up to an inflamed 4.00 assesed average whilst a rider like Clegg or Nielsen is missing out - granted theyve had plenty opportunity elsewhere but id have though their averages now make them attractive as championship reserves. I certainly would like to see british riders only declared at 6 and 7 in the teambuildijg of championship clubs.
  5. My thoughts too. If celina doesnt work out in the long run then whom out of stefan Nielsen, ben morley, max clegg or adam roynon can come in. Belive they would have 4.08 to play with

    Edinburgh “24 Team

Apologies youre right. Only amplifies the fact any team that wins the league is well out scoring their starting averages

Hes not wrong though is he. All teams have to out ride their averages to win a title with team limits at 40 and you need 46 points to win a title! If frederiksen, paco and thomson all put a point on there average and pickering has brilliant season along with coles pitting 1.5 on his average against weakend reserves it wouldnt be that far fetched!

    Plymouth Gladiators 2024

Doesnt the french league kick off early so theres going to be guys with equipment ready to go Aarnio - believe contacted Hynek Stichauer Max Dilger Mathieu Tressarieu Lukas Fienhage Any of these are better than a national league reserve on a short term contract perhaps Further left field perhaps jesse mustonsen. Might be keen to follow his mate over from finland at workington? Scored points in world cup too

Stefan Nielsen possibly open to improvement if he stays injury free? But team comes in a little under the limit then

    Workington 2024

Wow thats great to hear. Testament to the promotion. It goes against l the doom and gloom you usially associate with speedway at the moment

    Workington 2024

I might be wrong but £100 a point doesnt seem out of the question to me? As a worst case scenario for the promotion the team wins every match 60-30. Thats £6000 outlay on £100 a point. If tickets for home matches are £20 each then youd need 300 fans to break even on that £6000. Obviously only have half the matches at home so on that basis double that 300 fans to cover the away matches to make up the deficit from gate receipts on the away matches. I presume Workington have been well supported since their return so will they get 600 through for home matches in the championship? Obviously the figures above are based on 60 point wins which wont happen every week. If Vissing is asking for £100 a point your number 1 & 5s will be asking for more but the second strings and reaerves wont so that cancels it out. From the outside it doesnt seem madness to think gate receipts can cover rider points? Then other sales of merchandis and food can coer other outlays for home matches to an extent. I base all this on the premise that running a speedway team for a promotion is a break even businesses at best

Other riders who within the remaining average allowance and have been on these shores the last couple of years Jonas Knudsen 5.39 Anders Rowe 5.95 Broc Nicol 5.95 Dillon Ruml 5.47 Hans Andersen 6.32 Ricky Wells 5.20 Nikolai Busk Jacobsen 6.34 Danny Gappmeier 5.94 Kasper Anderson 4.10 Theo pijper 4.43 James Wright 5.24 Out of these Anders Rowe seems the man most likely to be going places but not sure of his commitments on the continent

    Workington 2024

Would Danny Gappmeier fit? Also out of interest does anyone know Jack Smiths championship average? He always makes big noise about nit getting a championship birth and hes got fixed up in Sweden and Poland fir next year when he would have been on paper one if the strongest reserves! Just thinking if say celina leibman doesnt turn out as a good move fir all parties maybe jack would be a shout as hes gone well at northside a few times last year

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Does anyone know if Batchelor is already in the UK? Wouldnt he need a visa to ride which would take a few weeks to get signed off? Or was the Batchelor move already in motion when Rogers was in charge? Will he be available Wednesday? Personally i think Batchelor is a good signing. Did well with Kent and largely did ok for Ipswich at the tricky no.5 spot. Sedgman having a great year so keep at 5 and bring Batch in to the engine room with Bowtell. Its an improvement for sure!

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Would "any" signings bring in an extra 300 or 400 supporters though? From what ive read on here the speedway public in and around Birmingham just arent having the Brummies!

    New speedway clubs for fun

Ive always thought joint venture mergers at the highgate dog track (south yorkshire) or The Valley (south wales) dog track and the Tir Prince trotting track (north wales) could be potential ventures could maybe host some speedway?

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

How come pearson doesnt get a reassessed average for 2023 after last year? Imo brum would have been better going with a 2.00 reaerve and using the extra 2 points to find a rider in the low 6s

    Birmingham Brummies 2023

Can anyone confirm whats happened with josh auty. Is he carrying on? If hes to carry he really needs his average reassesing, cant catch a break!
  23. I think starke for vissing, complin for shanes and morley for isnt a million miles away from what you expect. But from my reckoning max clegg, the thompsons and cameron heeps could have all covered for either morris or neilsen. Wells or batchekor could have stepped in for auty. 1. Batchelor or Wells 2. Clegg 3. Starke 4. Heeps 5. Sedgman 6. Complin 7. Morley Whats the rule surrounding unattached riders? Wethers could have stepped in for Vissing and starke rode at 1? Also kyle newman, ty Procter, josh macdonald and george congreve too? Surely Congreve fancied it after being dropped by newcastle and still being here? Rode on the IOW too last night. Would have made sense logistically
