Berwick v Scunthorpe KO Cup 1/4 Final 1st Leg 27/04

Never before in 40 years of watching speedway had I seen a start like that. Lambert had been warned that he was not coming to the tapes by the referee and the start marshall. The time was up and the green light was on. Four times Lambert rolled back and was pulled back by the start marshall. Yes FOUR TIMES! Kemp was hesitantly edging forward meanwhile Jack Smiths clutch was burning away. The smell and black s smoke billowing from the engine. The referee eventually let the tapes go and Lambert went on to win the race. The red lights should have come on and Lambert excluded for delaying the start. The referee did nothing to back up the starting marshall. Smith lost his temper with him but it was the referee who should have got his wrath. Mr Dishington showed that he was incapable of controlling a speedway match. He should be struck off the referees list. The whole spectacle was embarrassing! For the sport and especially the standard of refereeing! -
Edinburgh V Berwick BSN Trophy 26th April

I thought Berwick despite engine failures and falls leading to two rider withdrawals recovered valiantly. They all gave it everything. Never threw it in. Rory was fantastic in Heat 15 . How he squeezed Pickering and Sedgmen was breath taking. -
Well done the Berwick Promotion . I said You must sign Stevie Boxall. You delivered. Not only that we now have a world class rider in place of Thomas. Credit where it's due especially after the criticism I gave to Jamie and Scott Courtney last week.

Yes. James Pearson and Steve Boxall are riding at Workington today. Looks like it will be Jack Killeen at reserve today. We need a rider for Thomas as his crash yesterday looked horrendous on a over watered Armadale track. Justin Sedgman or Jake Allen maybe? Rider replacement will be throwing the towel in the ring! -

And another thing. Why Mr Jamie Courtney are Berwick even thinking of using Jack Killeen v Redcar. Using Berwick Speedway as guinea pigs for your other team Oxford . Beginning to see where your priorities are this season! -

After tonight's performance at Edinburgh tonight Steve Boxall must be in the Berwick team tomorrow! I don't care if he rides at reserve or replaces Thomas In the team. I thought he rode brilliantly. Put a few riders to shame how he rode tonight. -

At the stadium. Has not rained in the last for the last 2 hours. Ground is dry, very windy with low cloud. The odd spit of rain in the air. Riders turning up. All systems go!! -

Getting a gating lesson tonight. Tigers very lacklustre. Atmosphere at track like a morgue. Piper out ohis depth. Complain looks burnt out. Missing Basso without doubt a big miss especially with the composition of this team. The Pole hasn't turned up either. Not happy with Tigers tonight! -

Can someone tell me why this race was not awarded to Jack Holder? In GB racing it would have been. Why do the other two riders get another bite of the cherry? Clearly going into the last lap Holder had won the race. Is it different in grand Prix. To me it lacks common sense. -

The biggest Homer referee of all time. Zmarzlik should have been excluded. Race should have been awarded. Holder and Doyle both robbed. Referee lost his bottle The speedway world is intimidated by Poland. When they say jump the rest of speedway says how high! -

Mind you don't drown in Ukrainian blood! Don't come crying to me when the Russians have destroyed your house and your door slams into your arse. Believe me I want to conquer the world. Put the TV on and open your eyes!
