Poole to follow shortly after apparently.

    Coventry 2017

Danny King who was his captain and was interviewed on CWR confirmed that he had heard nothing from the club to this day, so Bjerre and King at least are contradicting what Horton has claimed. It is hard to understand why Horton would claim something, that riders had already stated hadn't happened. It will surely now call into question the validity of everything else he says. The one good thing at least,is that he now accepts, he needs to go,for the club to have any chance of survival.

Interesting that Rory said that the best owner/promoters he ever rode for were Sandhu and Frost, and that he and other riders had often been owed thousands of pounds by other promoters, that have been allowed to stay in the sport. Funny that 2 ex Bees riders were so effusive in their praise of Sandhu ,and both would clearly enjoyed riding for him Even Wayne Roberts the CWR speedway correspondent, who though perhaps not the most eloquent of speakers, seemed to intimate that the problems are more of Horton's making. Whilst a lot of this is mired in arguing of who said what when, the feeling was that all is yet not lost, but that the Horton era has run its course, and he needs to relinquish control of the Bees.

He's got taste. He even brought Tai Woffinden earlier in the season. Plus of course our most famous fan Sir Rod Stewart, whose son Liam is a Blaze player, who not only turned up over Christmas, but fortunately brought Penny Lancaster with him.

Perhaps a better comparison would be ice hockey and the Coventry Blaze, and speedway and the Coventry Bees. Both are minority sports, but the differences are huge. The Blaze social media output is so far superior to the Bees and other speedway clubs its embarrassing,,information and news comes out on a daily basis.Their website is far superior and updated regularly. In ice hockey each team has a regular weekly weekend home fixture, these fixture virtually never change, and apart from injuries you know all the players will be there, not stuck in Poland. This is for a sport that has only existed in Coventry for about 16 years. Players all interact with supporters far more than they do in speedway, there are bowling nights , casino nights, ladies nights were the players all turn up.After every game 2 players are made available for autographs, the match night experience is somethings most clubs are always seeking to improve. 6-7 years ago the Blaze were the dominant team in the UK, but lately have been overtaken by the likes of Nottingham and Sheffield, however the gates have not only held up, but increased, because the club have made a huge effort without loads of money, to go out and sell the product. All the local radio stations, mention the Blaze regularly, the Bees apart for this fiasco, barely warrant a mention. The sport seems stuck in a time warp. Next year the Elite league is expanding to 12 teams, and they hope to expand even further in future.Crowds are generally increasing at least at elite level, with clubs like Cardiff, Sheffield and Nottingham all having sell outs for just normal elite league games.Even Sam Masters has become a Blaze fan and is a regular when he is in the UK. 20 years ago the Bees were probably the 2nd biggest team in Coventry after CCFC, now they are probably about 5th. With the Wasps netball starting up, and having a sell out for there 1st game, we will soon be probably down to 6th, that''s if we still exist anymore.

No they were based at Wycombe, they never have in their history been based anywhere near Coventry. They are a franchise club,in the same way MK Dons are a franchise in football. There is and always has been a rugby club in Coventry with over a 100 years of history, called Coventry Rugby Club, that has always represented this City. A club that has produced numerous England internationals and were the top club in England in the 1970's.

    Hopefully Trump then.

Perhaps Trump could take over. Not the Donald, but Allan. It would be symbolic if on the day one Trump became leader of the free world ,another became the saviour of the Bees. At least he has the finances,or at least he did.

Wow people actually believe this. You do realise that several clubs have already closed recently, and presumably not because they were making too much money. Every year clubs are looking for ways to try and reduce costs, and reduce their losses. Coventry moving to Leicester would see crowds collapse , and the club would fold within weeks. Any promoter who followed this route, should be taken away and sectioned, Horton maybe stupid but he is not terminally insane. Anyway this has hopefully been resolved, at least in the short term. The fact that Sandhu kept ownership of all the fixtures and fittings, always led me to believe that he hadn't totally given up on keeping the stadium open. For if he had no interest in speedway/stock car he would have surely got rid of everything when he sold the stadium last year. If he had wanted totally out, he may as well included all the f&f in the original sale.

    Swindon 2017

While I accept that Doyle's average is incredibly high, I'm not sure it is a bigger handicap to Swindon as being made out, providing of course he recovers from his injuries and rides like he has been riding last season. Of course he can only reach a maximum of a 12 point average, but don't forget he will always barring injury have 5 rides, and averages assume a rider having only 4 rides. So his effective weighted average will be higher. If he were to go through the season unbeaten, very unlikely I know, whilst his average would drop to 12, he would be scoring 15 sometimes 18 points per meeting, and its the points per meeting that really count. It is like having a 6 point and a 2 point reserve, who ride to their averages. By giving the 6 point reserve 5 rides he will actually score you 7.5 points per meeting on average, and the 2 point rider only have 3 rides, will score on average 1.5 points per meeting, so you can gain an extra point per meeting. It is why Ford always goes with a strong top 2, because they always have 5 rides per meeting.

The next signing I would like would be Bates (5.02 i believe),and ideally you can fit him at reserve. Would love to see Fricke at Brandon, a rider who is young and is only going to get better. That would give us 3 very good heat leaders, especially in this league and a very strong reserve able to take 5 rides Fricke 9.91 King 9.57 Bjerre 8.22 Schlein 7.17 Walasek 7.63 Bates 5.02 JPB?? 2.00 Hopefully that makes 49.52 or take out Schlein and Walasek and put in Garrity 8.55 and L Bjerre 6.65 which makes us 49.92 I think. I imagine a lot of teams will be interested in JPB , not sure who else would come in on a 2 point average. Either team would have a nice balance of youth and experience, and gaters and racers. I know people have questions about Rory and Bjerre fitness/injuries,but on those averages they don't have a lot of downside and a potential big upsides for both. 4 or 5 years ago both I believe were number 1's, Rory at Belle Vue and Bjerre at Peterborough.
  13. Ha ha ha. I'll tell you what I'll pay your losses, when you reimburse all the thousands of Peugeot workers that lost their jobs plus many more in the supply chain when the EU induced them to leave the UK, a fact admitted on local radio by Peugeot local management. We all remember you gloating when it was announced that Brandon was to be sold for housing, so the fact you are allegedly suffering financially is just an added bonus. You clearly have no concern for other people's welfare so don't be surprised if others take the same view. Some people seem to be forgetting there was back in the 1970's an EU referendum, which Remain won, I don't remember that result not being honoured. There was no talk of another vote then, well not for about 20 years. Of course there is nothing to stop you moving to your beloved EU, if you find Brexit Britain so unbearable.I hear Rome is quite popular. However I expect despite all your bluster, your love of the EU, won't quite stretch to living there. An EU still swamped with a migrant crisis, and they haven't got a clue how to solve it. Thousands now trapped in Italy as countries like Austria close their borders, Italy threatening to withhold EU payments unless other countries take more migrants, the Hungarians telling the EU they will refuse to take anymore migrants. Lithuania electing a government with a policy to try and stop emigration as so many of their people have moved westwards. emptying their country. Of course the fact there is still an ongoing Euro crisis, with the whole of southern Europe are mired in mass unemployment, an ongoing banking crisis now including Deutche Bank, was never going to be any concern for you. How long before yet another Greek bailout? Perhaps you should go into the production of dummies, I'm hearing their's a national shortage.
  14. I wouldn't hold your breath. If they had names of companies do you think they wouldn't name them.Yet more project fear. Or maybe they mean companies like Peugeot, perhaps closing down their Stoke Engines plant and huge Ryton assembly line and relocating to mainland Europe. Except that already happened 10 years ago, when we were as far as I remember in the EU, a move facilitated by EU grants to Peugeot.Losing thousands of jobs in Coventry. More bad brexit news ,ING the Dutch Banking concern are creating new jobs in the City, indeed moving jobs from Brussels (oh the irony) to London. So the exact opposite of what we were told would happen. Indeed the IMF one of their beloved experts have confirmed that the UK is the fastest growing economy in the G7. Yesterday showed how much some people seemingly hate their own country. Instead of cheering the great news for the North East and the UK, all they could do is whine and carp, perhaps an indication of where their true loyalties lie. They seem more interested in scoring political points, and would rather see bad news for the country if it means aiding their perverse viewpoint. It is clear the Great Remain Sulk goes on. We can only properly judge if Brexit was right or wrong 5 or 6 years down the track.
  15. So the Treasury 'experts' forecast only 4 months ago that we would now be in recession predicting negative growth of 0.1% , instead we actually see a post brexit vote growth of 0.5%,yet again another Project Fear proved to be totally wrong. Nissan today announces huge new investment in the UK, 2 new cars being produced in Sunderland so yet another Project Fear scare that proved groundless. Yesterday the BBC went to Newry, which has shown a huge increase (over 60% increase in cars coming over the border since June 23rd) to take advantage of the competitive pound, traders said business was booming.since June 23rd In comparison on food prices the UK was massively cheaper on comparable prices. A box of Kellogs cornflakes was £2 in Newry, and was 3 euros in the Republic, So you should be thankful that you are not doing your weekly shop in the Irish Republic. You are to economics what Philip Green is to retail.
