  1. It is very unlikely planning permission specifies which days of the week they can run. When there are restrictions it is usually in terms of number of times per week.

    Guess Where?

    Vojens?
  3. I presume to the promoter. I really don't understand why some people seem to have a problem with that. Do they want promoters to only stage meetings that loose money? No wonder nobody wants to be a promoter. I'm pretty sure that Buster has faced huge amounts of additional costs this year at his two tracks, and if this helps defray those losses I'm content with that. PS And I'm usually to be found throwing rotten tomatoes rather than praise in his direction. PPS Nobody is forcing you to go.

    Gordon Kennett

Barney (and his loud shirts) is at Oxford most weeks, he was there on Wednesday for Gordon's minute's applause.
  5. Looks like 7 Oct now, but could still be a problem for Jordan as it is a potential date for a Cubs v Chargers final.

    Leicester Lion Cubs 2023

Although by the NDL's standards final dates of 8th & 14th October is comparatively early. [In the last 20 stagings (I.e. going back to 2000) the EARLIEST the final has been completed is 13 October in 2018] PS Is there a date for Newport v Buxton yet? That second leg play-off final is long overdue.

  8. Ellis - no because he is not in a named seven Becker - no because his average is too high But in theory yes e.g. Blodorn for Craig Cook would fit.

    Assessed Averages

With the aid of a spreadsheet and linear regression it really isn't that difficult

    Now confirmed as 27 Sept

    ANTONI LOCH

Antoni Edward LOCH Born: 14 May 1976, Southampton, Hampshire, England. Career record: (1997) Ryde, Oxford II.
  12. I think it depends on what you mean by 'false'. Realistically Tarasenko was squeezed between Brady Kurtz and Tobi Musialak in the 2021 Polish averages (he didn't ride in 2022 due to still being Russian). That would make 7.00 an appropriate Premiership assessment and with a realistic conversion factor of 1.3 (as opposed to the absurd 1.5) he would be on 9.00 in the Championship. That would be a fair assessment. So to the extent 5 is less than 9 (it is, I've checked) it is a false average. Is 5.00 correct within the rules? Yes, and is therefore a true assessment and not a false one.
  13. 16 July 2022 v Edinburgh/Armadale (Unless you count 4 Nov 22 v Poole and Mildy which was ... at King's Lynn)
  14. Given both clubs are already selling tickets that ship has already sailed.

    Play-off picks

There is also a problem in that the number of teams not in the play-offs is so small that guest options are very limited.
  16. Asigning an average of 5.29, the average GSA of the riders likely to take his place, to r/r gives a combined GSA of 30.65
  17. Oxford already have a Chargers match on that evening. So more likely 19th or 27th

    Drugs - Just Say No!

It's a perfectly valid argument, reasonably expressed. After all speedway culture often encourages and celebrates drug use. I was once handed drugs on the centre green by the Leicester management to give to a 15 year old rider.
  19. Clearly Poole and Oxford have already discussed their preferences, whatever the outcome of tonight's fixtures. It may well be that (say) Scunthorpe already knew they would be riding on 13th - just not wether it would be at Poole or Oxford.

    Plymouth Gladiators 2023

Panthers v Sheffield abandoned at 32-28. But crucially it was not just one tyre, but several. We're there other tyre issues in the Brum meeting?
  21. Tarasenko has a higher average than Basso in the Prem BOTH home and away.
  22. The SCB exists to regulate the sport, protect the integrity of their rulebook ( ha ha ) so it is outwith their remit, but one does wonder how the BSPL could be any less effective at achieving its basic mandate: to protect thd business interests of its members.
  23. Hopefully once Birmingham's play-off fate is decided tonight, could we perhaps hope for some news on a restaging of this event? Surely it is not too much to ask is it? After all its only a national championship.
