No. The council has a statutory obligation to draw up local plan containing appropriate planning policies for the area and designating land uses. However the plan goes through a long process including consultation and potentially public enquiry. Any plan policy saying the land must be used for a particular sport would be regarded as too narrow and never get through. The present policy is about as strong as could realistically be expected.

So a grand total of FIVE of the originally qualified line-up (Clegg, Complin, Morley and the Comets duo) are expected to race. -

I discussed this with an SCB referee after giving a 15 year old alcohol as a 'man of the match' award. It is clearly against the rules. -

I'd choose Ashton Boughen (assuming Joe T and Max Perry are the Leicester representatives at Worky) -

Think it's a question if when rather than if it rains, but median forecast suggests 9pm so fingers crossed -
Just put in a sell on clause. If a new stadium materialises then further payment is due to Buster. Common in land sales where if planning permission is subsequently obtained by the new owner some of that increase in value is returned to the old owner.

I'm sure every morning Tarasenko wakes up and the first thing he thinks is "what is the Bournnemouth Echo saying today" -
NDL Riders Championship, Workington 24 September
arnieg posted a topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
NDLRC LINE-UP ANNOUNCED SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2023 THE list of competing riders for the National Development Riders’ Championship at Workington has been announced. The meeting takes place on Sunday September 24 and all eight NDL clubs will be represented by two riders. The draw itself will be made via British Speedway’s official X (formerly Twitter) feed, @speedwaygb this Tuesday evening at 7pm. The qualifying riders are as follows: James Pearson, Jack Smith (Belle Vue), Steve Boxall, Danny Phillips (Berwick), Adam Roynon, Max Clegg (Edinburgh), Ben Morley, Nathan Ablitt (Kent), Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson (Leicester), Alfie Bowtell, Lee Complin (Mildenhall), Jordan Jenkins, Henry Atkins (Oxford), Connor Bailey, Sam McGurk (Workington). How was qualification determined? It's not (as I assumed it would be) top two in September greensheets for each team as that would mean Luke Harrison should be the second Comets representative. -
Yes It's about saying goodbye respectfully Both for the former riders and supporters. One of the highlights of Smallmead's 'End of an Era' meeting for me was talking to John Hammond.

I think Bernie Leigh got more mentions than some of Peterborough's legends.

Given that his father, grandfather, great grandfather and great uncle all rode for Smederna this comes as such a surprise -
There are a lot of wise words here. Re the final para I think it is quite possible that AEPG will revise the application now before it goes to ctte in attempt to head off some of the arguments, which could delay the process by several months. Oh and those councillors you are seeking to influence may well read Panthers social media as a result of being lobbied, so try and remove all those references to councillors taking 'brown envelopes'. Nothing is guaranteed to lose the sympathy more quickly of someone whose voice could be an important one in our favour. [Councillor of 18 years]

Best ranking: 1st 2020 2nd best 2nd this year 3rd best 3rd in 2019 4th best 2014 4th 5th equal: 5th in 2012 & 2013 7th best 6th in 2018 -
Given the volume of objections I think it quite likely that it may not make it to the Nov meeting, I'm guessing Mick will have picked up some hints from officers as to the likely timetable.

SGP wild cards 2024

The years he chose to miss were when he was mid 20s. Many top riders peak over 30 these days (Vaculik, Lindgren, Madsen), so he could be at his peak now, or may not even have reached it. -
Depends how protracted the play-offs are. If the 14 team league has 12 teams in the play-offs in four groups of three followed by a semis and a final you could be right. And I think that's just the nonsense the BSPL would come up with.
-
I think it would be hard to justify that counting. [And three rides and 2 points puts him at the level of Jack Smith, Sam Hagon and Luke Killeen.] Edit: I was using the wrong data set. Have got the correct figures now: 23 rides 1.43 average. Quite respectable (Similar to Bailey and Edwards). Still I don't think yhat as a youth development league this should really count. Most riders who are worth 5 ( e.g. Parnitsky, Pollestad, Heiselberg, Vuolas will have ridden in other leagues)

On what basis? My understanding too
