  1. Flint, Bickley, Gilkes, Rowe, Kemp, Palin and the Thompson twins were supposed to be the golden generation. While some of them are making decent progress they haven't hit the stratospheric heights many of us hoped.

And looking at subsequent riders coming up through the youth system none (bar Ashton Boughen) look better prospects than the ones named above.

Their didn’t appear to be a vast amount of spectators watching, having some knowledge of Birmingham I am assuming most of the supporters were watching from inside due mainly to the weather as well as the view from trackside which is limited at best, but the home supporters went home happy following the expected decision after Pawlicki went down as the Kurtz exclusion settled the match in Birminghams favour.

About 60:40 ratio out to in I reckon.

Looking to maybe head along to the meeting against Leicester next Monday as I’m in the area. What’s the best bet for parking? Nothing obvious on the website re. suggestions. Any help appreciated.

It is there, but not very well sign posted. (Contrast with Birmingham's excellent graphic)

    Car Parking Information
Due to limited parking at the stadium, free parking will be available thanks to Unipart at their site just a short walk from the stadium (approx 800m) on a first come first served basis, please remember to select this option if required when purchasing your tickets as this will be required when arriving at the car park.
A free shuttle bus service will be provided to and from the stadium from the Unipart car park site.

Although it was a good performance from the team last night we definitely need one more change asap. Personally I would keep Tofty and get rid of Patryk as their averages are virtually the same but I suspect Tofty comes a lot cheaper money the club could put towards a replacement.

The big question is who is available on about a 7.5 point average.? Can’t think of anybody who would like to come over to the uk to ride, thoughts anyone.

Matej Zagar has a fairly light schedule and a 7.20 GSA

Maybe, but you surely have to beat the visitor’s RS? Flint did Joe three times tonight.

Not sure why you expect Joe [2023 Champ av of 3.36] to beat Flint [2023 Champ av 6.58]. He looked good at Oxford last week (paid 12) but none of the riders he beat had  an average as high as Flint's.

I get 38.32, but the limit goes up to 38.5 in May, so it fits.

I used Riss' converted Prem average as that is now his "most recent" average.

It is a ridiculous rule, ignoring his last 20 Champ meetings, because he's ridden ONE Prem meeting!

You are right, I'd forgotten about that part of the rule..

No offence to Jenkins. He's a good talent, got a bright future ahead of him, but I'd bite your hand off if you offered me Riss over him. Riss and Heeps at 3 and 4 looks much stronger than Heeps and Jenkins. Needs to be done before 22nd of May.

Didn't think that would fit, but 37.99 JUST!

Jeez how pathetic. I can well recall standing in Sheffield car park on 18 August 2022 at 7.30pm on race night in blazing sunshine (shorts weather) with no rain having fallen in the past two days but no speedway because the match had been called off on Tuesday because apparently Sheffield couldn't get the track ready.

I have little time for Chapman but it irks me that a promoti9n that is equally guilty is whinging like a 12 year old.

They need to put a stop to nicholls guesting on his false average

It is an actual average based on actual points scored in real matches calculated according to the regulations. Yes sometimes the rules produce anomalies but if you want to iron them out you will often end up creating new ones, and inevitably make the rules more complicated.

Stated on the night that no facility was allowed, said the same yesterday at the Chargers home meeting.

    The two situations were different.

No facility at Ipswich means a 75% guest (as Ipswich has tonight), but

No facility on Sunday in the NDL meant a 3.00 unattached rider (Spooner not having ridden this season for the Chargers)

You will think I am being a pedant here - there is a news item on the BSPA website stating he isn’t there and why - that’s not an official SCB statement to me!

I have never said I disbelieve or doubt anything said - it’s just I still expect an official SCB statement in this!

As yet no offence has been committed. I assume that once the meeting is finished and the ACU referee submits his report the SCB will put out a statement saying they are investigating, and another one about the outcome.

There seems an awful lot of sound and fury over very little at the moment. Doyle missed his plane. He will plead his case emphasising the mitigating circumstances and the SCB will adjudicate. Until then there's not much to be said. At least (unlike Oxford) the Witches have been able to find a 75% guest - ironically from Oxford!
