    Polish Extraleague Sunday 1st August

It means exactly that...providing a UK TV channel decides to buy it from Terry :-) rgds PolskiZuzel
  2. ... because nobody else (apart from Poland) want to stage it,that's why :-( Seriously though - if they can have SGP at Copenhagen, why not SWC? cheers PolskiZuzel
  3. A small group of Polish fans is looking for reasonably (cheap) prized Bed and Breakfast accommodation (not far from Millenium Stadium), alternatively around Bristol Airport. Any suggestions? Many thanks. PolskiZuzel

    Vic Harding

I will never forget it either. Perhaps because I was there and saw it happened in front of my eyes. Very sad. R.I.P. Vic

  7. Trees, don't you think it's a bit naughty pasting the whole text without giving a source?
  8. Was it on yahoo speedway forum? If it was, why didn't you quote a source?

    Rico, Upset Somebody In Poland...

The tension between Czestochowa's Lee Richardson and Torun's Ryan Sullivan erupted some time ago in Sweden. Before the last heat of the Swedish League match between Rospiggarna vs Vetlanda, the host's team were two points ahead and in order to win the whole match they had , at least, to draw the last race. After that race, Sullivan - apparently - had some grievances against Richardson who passed him on distance, thus ensuring the overall draw. A similar incident happened last week at Czestochowa. It seems that in a psychological war between the two teams, in the last few days it was blown up out of proportion by the media and Czestochowa management. Apparently there is not any war between the two riders. They talked to each other before the match at Torun, and Richardson congratulated Sullivan after the last race. It's a pity that the fans were not up to the level of both riders, and by presenting an offensive banner allowed themselves to be manipulated.

World U21 Final 3rd October Gorican

...and so was Janowski. If it was not for this fall in his third heat, he also could have been world champion.
  11. You've got it wrong! Nobody rides in the GP "on a national licence of another country" There is no such thing. Rune Holta, I think you refer to him, don't you, has requested and obtained Polish Passport. As a Polish National he has every right to ride under Polish flag. regards PolskiZuzel

    Polish Extraleague On The Net

Would you give him another ride after scoring 0 in his first, because I wouldn't. So far, Iversen in 4 matches, and 15 races, scored only 16pts. Enough is enough !

    2008 Under 21 World Championship

I have to agree with you. By all accounts Emill will be given a chance to ride in the next year's GP...and because of that, although not the only reason, he won't have enough spare time to ride in the UK. He already rides very sucessfully in three leagues and with the 2009 GP looming over him he will be too busy even to think about 40 odd matches in England. PolskiZuzel

    World U-21 Final

I totally agree with you, Lawrence, and I'm quite sure we will see Emil in the next year GP. "If I was given a chance I would say yes. In fact it's my dream to ride with the best in the world in the GP series, admitted Emil to the Bydgoszcz newspaper's reporter. Saifutdinov's manager, Mr Bogdan Sawarski, is confident that his protégé would not let down thousands of his fans. Yes, it's true he is still very young and still learning, but I am sure he would not disappoint those who believe that he can do it. If official proposal comes our way we will think it over. The Grand Prix is another kettle of fish, but, I'm sure we would managed, added Saifutdinov's manager. Although next year wild cards decisions won't be made before the annual FIM congress (19-25 October in the Republic of South Africa), Saifutdinov's today's successful defence of his junior world championship title gives him more than a chance of being awarded with the permanet wild card for the 2009 Grand Prix series. So let's wait and see ! PolskiZuzel
  16. OK! fine, that's your opinion. Mine is that the referee should stick to his guns. If he excluded Pedersen then he should have excluded Crump as weel. OK, Gollob did not have to pass Crump, but having said that he passed Crump clean. There was no contact, and it was not Gollob's fault that Jason decided to hit the deck.

    Under 21 World Team Cup

Correct me, if I'm wrong, British speedway stadium are mostly owned by GRA ( the British Greyhound Racing Association ) Yes, I do know, that British town and city authorities pump NOTHING in your speedway clubs. BUT, perhaps SOMEONE should try to persuade them - at least - to do that. After all, who 10 years ago heard about Bydgoszcz, or in the last few years about Czestochowa, Zielona Gora, etc. I'm not sure whether promotors have tried, particularly recently. I remember the days when there was the Gulf British League, etc. OK, you have now Sky Sports Elite League, but where do all that sponsoring money go? How much of it finds its way do each and every British club? Rules changing is not only happening in Britain. Those in authority think that by doing this they improve the sport. I think is other way round. What people want is clear cut set up, with no rider replacements, no 'golden reserve', 'jokers' etc. Would you accept in football a rule which says that because the other team are three up you can have a penalty shot? I bet you wouldn't. The same in speedway. Newcomers, if they get persuaded by someone to come and watch speedway can't get their heads round thinking how stupid speedway rules are.

    Under 21 World Team Cup

Why should they be buying 'their' stadiums? As far as I know, speedway stadiums in Poland are not owned by the speedway clubs. If anything they are owned by city authorities. Bydgoszcz "Polonia" speedway club is not rich enough to own the stadium, or to stage the annual GP event there. It's the Bydgoszcz city authorities who pump the money, getting in return (as they see it) publicity for the town. Try this with Ipswich, Reading, etc. Find a sponsor like a British Petroleum, Gulf, Coke, etc., anybody of similar statute. Create publicity around speedway, make it exciting for those who never heard of speedway. Don't kill it slowly by choping and changing its own rules. It can be done, why not in Britain? regards Polski Zuzel

    Under 21 World Team Cup

Tress, so what, or perhaps who, is stopping England to have the same set up as Poland? It's a free world and you do, presumably, the way you think is best. Don't you ? regards PolskiZuzel

    Bydgoszcz Grand Prix

...and so do I, Lawrence. I am glad to report to be back online again. In the last two weeks, or so, due to my moving, I was cut off from all the news and gossips. So this is my first opportunity to thank Rico, Mama and you Lawrence for having me on the coach trip to Zielona Gora. The trip itself was quite enjoyable, but the actual event called the GP Challenge was a big disappointment, weather included. If it wasn't for a nice trio of King's Lynn (Tomas Topinka) supporters from the other coach I would get frozen stiff!. That's how cold it was. Keep up with your very good job, Lawrence, filming and interviewing speedway events. Regards to you all. PolskiZuzel

Thanks for the links Mama. The site is really great. Quality of pictures is amazing. Commentary ?... will get better... I'm sure. All we need is some graphic inserts, to tell us who rides with whom and in what helmet colours. Otherwise, I' ll say - WELL DONE!!! keep it up.
