Horton should never have been allowed to be at the helm of two clubs. In fact most of the intelligencia thought that he shouldn't be in charge of one club. Panthers fans didn't want him anywhere near Oxford so who sanctioned it? We could have gone down with Oxford so self preservation sets in at such times. We know that speedway is living beyond its means, we've been told that for years. It's astonishing that the BSPA didn't realise that and bring in changes gradually over several seasons when speedway was in a reasonable state. Speedway is in a huge mess (at EL level (can we still call it Elite?) anyway) and they come up with a dogs dinner which must be done. I hope your faith in the establishment is justified, it looks like I'll not be watching speedway's Grand Design!

It was reasonably positive a couple of weeks ago so I tend to agree. I suspect that the doors were locked this time and our last bargaining tool was that if you go with that then we'll close Peterborough down. The BSPA saw it as an opportunity and called our bluff.

The crowds were not there because of an awful fixture list for starters which was never really addressed. A return to some Friday meetings was seen as a solution when it was never going to be unless it was weekly. Despite an embarrassment of richies we continued to put out inadequate sides, and as the local rag says "they have not enjoyed success on the track. Panthers have made the play-offs only once - in 2010 - during their reign." - that isn't going to entice anyone in but neither is the dogs dinner the 2013 AGM has served up so one can understand that part of their logic if not much else.
