I rode with mike in eastern centre grass track meetings more years back than I`m gonna admit! he rode colin seager machines, which I rather took a fancy to they were the rolls royce of that time, he helped me get the bits to build one based on one of my speedway motors, it was a lovely looking machine. Mike was a good bloke.
Welllll there was the very nice blond lady that visited us in the bath one time, and then there`s the various `tales from the dope shed` but perhaps we should`nt go there. Get me tippsy at the VSRA dinner and perhaps I`ll tell you more
I`m sure you know most of the stories anyway Shaz!
`The Management` could`nt afford to give us coats way back then, we had to go and hunt for our coats, they were`nt bear skins, they were mammoth skin!, and our leathers were from stegasaurous hide!
P.S. anyone know how to spell stegasaurous?
A sad fact, the fun does seem to have gone as we remember it, it all seems commercially orientated these days, but then I think that is true of all sport now, its money first enjoyment second.
I remember the Mail to, I thought it was very good. its a shame we cant have it back as well as the star, two reads would be better than one I suppose. why did it finish? anyone know, from what we`ve heard about crap paying, probably lack of finance!
