2014 British Youth Championship
Mimmo replied to Bryn's topic in Youth Speedway and Development Leagues
Thanks a lot for that wayne b. I've got into the habit of looking on the BSF for my information, and the thought of checking the website you've highlighted never crossed my mind....DOH!! Very grateful, and just hope the poor weather forecast proves to be wrong, and that it gets well attended. Regards Mike -

With just a couple of days to go before the opening round of this always entertaining tournament, there seems to be no publicity being given about it. Am I the only member of the paying public that is attending? Does anyone (Phil or Neil) have confirmation of the line-ups, and presumablyit's still scheduled to take place at Scunthorpe. Anyone that officially knows the answers.......HELP......please? -

I'm pleased that you got to say your official farewells Mike. You and I go back a great many years don't we, and I wish you nothing but luck, health and happiness as you embark on the next chapter of your life in Melbourne. A little birdie tells me that you might be involved at the 2015 New Zealand GP, and if so, that will be well deserved for all your years in speedway. You've had your knockers (yes probably that sort too!!) over the years, and now it seems that not everybody enjoys listening to Matt Black, but that's the penalty of being in the public eye. I know from having a stint as announcer at King's Lynn Football Club some years ago, it's not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination, and people like you, Matt and the majority of announcers/presenters around the country deserve any recognition they can get. Be happy mate, and keep in touch. Mike -
I ALWAYS without fail buy a programme, no matter what the cost, but because I like to keep them neat and tidy, that's the reason I always print a racecard, in case I make a mess of things at the meeting. I know for a fact that is the case with a lot of people, but of course appreciate that doesn't apply to everyone.
-
Thanks for that.

When I attempt to write a riders name in the score-chart, a message comes up telling me that the 'Protected cells can not be modified', is there a way round that please?
-
I can understand Stoke recording 60.5 in their official records, as this was timed at a higher level of racing (i.e. 2nd tier). I can't understand the reason for showing separate records for National & Conference Leagues, as they are one and the same thing (i.e. 3rdtier), so IMO, the listing of Richie Worrall doesn't justify being shown.
-
Do you know when that one was set please, as I obviously have missed it?

Yeah mate, my comment was by no means knocking him for riding in the MDL, far from it. I was really just emphasising (is that the correct spelling, as it doesn't look right?) what a loyal rider they would be taking on with someone like Adam. As all teams apart from Scunthorpe now appear to be full, that would seem to be his only immediate opportunity. Yes and as you are suggesting, doors could open for him with clubs for numerous reasons, but hopefully not through injuries.
-
What if we don't use Facebook????? Seriously though, with him living locally, he could possibly represent King's Lynn in MDL. This of course isn't really a forward step, and who knows, maybe Scunthorpe might be an option. I hope somebody gives the lad a chance as a reward for the loyalty he showed to Kent last year, riding in a total of 27-meetings. Equal most of any rider in the team. Riders like that are a godsend, and it's a shame there aren't a great deal more like him.......well there aare.....but you know what I mean.
-
Tommy Fenwick has already told me that he doesn't intend racing this year, which is a shame to honest.
-
Handy little side coming together here, and if the final rider comes with some pedigree, then maybe Cradley Heath apart, I can't see an outfit that will be any better than ours. Lets hope they enjoy a prosperous season, with plenty of support on the terraces.

Very sad to see that Iwade can no longer host a round, as it was always one of my favourite meetings of the season. -
I see that we have quite a few home fixtures on a Thursday this season, which could prove problematic for those that work at both clubs, and indeed the KL fans who regularly go to Ipswich for their Premier League fix.
-
He's riding and scoring well in the Amateur Meetings at Scunthorpe, so MAYBE a comeback is in his mind. Would be a good signing if he did.
-
Total waste of time and money IMO, although I must admit that it does have a good following, and is usually quite a good money spinner forthose staging it. I've been a few times at Wimbledon, and also seen a couple of meetings at Swaffham, but it seems so difficult understanding what positionsthe car are in. But as I say, that's just my opinion.

Hi Laurence, Is it still hoped to stage and MDL Challenge Match between Coventry & King's Lynn. Cheers Mike -
You'll find some NL riders racing in the excellent Scunthorpe Winter Championship, and they suffer few rain-offs really. Apart from Mildenhall that was mentioned by ivanhoward, King's Lynn and Boston have been known to run meetings during December and Januarymany moons ago. I know of people who travel up from Kent to see the Scunthorpe Amateur Meetings, and also an Edinburgh fan that goes to them too, so I think there would be a certain level of support for such a venture. I think it's a great idea, and would get my support on the terraces.

Yep, and his Christian name is spelt Arron.
