  1. Thanks for your offer Martin, I'll come a runnin' if I need you. Trying to collect a complete set of results for these junior leagues is an absolute nightmare, with some clubs producing little or no information, yet others like yourselves to name but one, are brilliant. The ridiculous thing is that someone other than the referees must have scorers and heat details from every meeting, because they eventually appear in Peter Oakes Yearbook. It's just a pity that they can't be shared with the people who stand on the terraces and watch these lads race, and want to know how they're doing when riding at other venues. I don't know why I bother really........well I guess I do, it's because I care, it's just a pity that those in the know don't.
  2. Okay thanks, I'll check those and see where I go from there. It's heat details I need, so that I can try and build riders averages etc., up, so hopefully they will provide that info.
  3. 'tis alright mate. Looking at the league table on the BSPA website, I'm a mile apart, so there's obviously match results that have never been published in their results section, or here on the forum. Why oh why don't clubs take this league more seriously? People moan because this country never produces a World Champion, yet when there is a competition in place such as this, and others, to try and bring youngsters on to one day maybe realise that dream, it's treated with such unimportance.
  4. Good info, thanks very much, it's appreciated.
  5. Does anybody have the points scorers and heat details from the MDL Grand Prix that was abandoned at Coventry on the 7th June please?
  6. It was an excellent meeting last night, one enjoyed by all.......I think!!
  7. I don't like coming onto public forums, especially Facebook, where the world and his friend can read everybody's business, but I can't let certain happenings at King's Lynn Speedway last night go unmentioned either. TRACK SHOP: I took more flack and abuse than is acceptable due to the continuing lack of merchandise for Robert Lambert. I know that I advised you at the previous meeting that some items would be available last night, which in the case of photos, were posted to me, but didn't arrive prior to me leaving for the stadium. The delay over this particular riders merchandise is due solely to the fact that when the photographer has been in attendance, Robert hasn't until recently, so it's just one of those things. Plus there have been some serious family problems involving both the company I represent and myself with regards to illness, that have had to take priority over speedway, and I make no apologies over that. With regards to any other merchandise requested, I had sold out at the point that you requested it. I don't sit there and lie my back teeth off as a cover up, which was suggested by one irate gentleman, I have no need to, I'm just being employed to work for a company that's not part and parcel of King's Lynn Speedway Club. To the person who told me that I could stick my second-rate merchandise up my a**e purely because I didn't have a Lewis Kerr pen he could purchase, at what he described a rip-off price (£1), then my thoughts to you sir, as you tripped over the step leaving the shop, were that you'd probably have had more room up yours. Finally on this topic, to the Kent supporter who also directed some swear words at me because I didn't have any items of Ben Morley, I'll say once again, “Can you buy King's Lynn merchandise in your track shop at Central Park Stadium”, no of course you can't, so why should you think you ought to be able to buy Kent riders stuff at the Norfolk Arena. It was a most childish attitude. PROGRAMMES: Once again, an unreasonable amount of dissent shown towards me because I didn't have any of last nights race-sheets for sale, when the ticket office had run out. I think you nearly all know that I have never sold programmes for the club, and that they've always been available through the clubs own employees. Yes you are quite right, I do write the visitors profile, and present a quiz page in the Elite League programme, but that's where my working connection starts and ends with King's Lynn Speedway. I will also stress that I spend a few hours a week in doing those particular tasks completely free of charge for the club, and like you, I pay 50p for my race-sheet at a 'Young Stars' meeting. I don't get a free copy, but if I did, surely I would have earnt it!! Last night was an exception, because the crowd was far larger than normal, and whilst I don't know, I can only assume that the normal amount of race-sheets were printed to start with. I do know that a reprint was done, and if you couldn't be bothered to walk back to the ticket office to buy one, then that can hardly be described as my fault can it?

  9. Hi Kelvin, yes I do realise that, it's just like to record them in my own personal records. Laurence can't find his programme at the moment, but continues to search......I think!!! Regards Mike
  10. Actually 'kevcfc' I don't really see how the information can be correct, whoever's put it on there. The result has now been loaded onto the BSPA website, and shows that Glyn Picken scored 4-points from 4-rides. He suffered a 2-minute disqualification in two out of the four heats, and they don't count as rides, so the records show 4-points from 2-rides!! Once again thanks for your time and trouble.
  11. Can anybody please tell me the programmed line-up for Northside in riding order please? I'm hearing that it was 1) Glyn Picken 2) Kyle Deans 3) No Rider. But looking at heat details on Facebook, Picken doesn't appeared to have ridden in Heat 1 but no reason given as to why not. Facebook is such a mess when it comes to providing accurate race details, and it's such a shame they don't get publish on the BSF very often. Thank you in advance if anybody can help.
  12. The team line-ups are: - KING'S LYNN: 1) Robert Lambert 2) Lewis Rose 3) Jake Knight 4) Darren Mallett 5) Lewis Kerr 6) Shane Waldron 7) Shane Hazelden KENT: 1) Steve Boxall 2) Connor Coles 3) David Mason 4) Benji Compton 5) Ben Morley 6) Adam Kirby 7) Jack Kingston
  13. STR CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND – KING'S LYNN (11th August 2013) Once again there was a sizeable crowd for this entertaining STR meeting. Some people I spoke to had travelled up from as far as Folkestone in Kent, and enjoyed both the racing and the blazing heat bottled and saved for the Norfolk Arena. Sadly however, the meeting has to be brought to a sudden and premature end following an alarming crash in the 'Intermediate A' Final, involving Luke Barnes and Rod Woodhouse. The outcome was that two county ambulances were summoned in addition to the previously called paramedic, with finally the Air Ambulance required. Luke Barnes was taken off to the local hospital with a suspected broken collar-bone, whilst the injuries to Woodhouse are not known at this moment in time. He was concious and talking to all the medical staff, so that's a positive note. So, let's hope for a speedy recovery to both riders. NOVICE CLASS 1. Joe Burdekin 0-1-0-N = 1 2. 15. I have no complaints about the quality of the racing last night, in fact I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a stupid thing for Mick Bates to say about looking for lights not flags, if that is true. What other reason are the flags there for??? As 'BossMan' said, Leicester were on an 8-1 and looked as though they were going to hold onto it, yes a very unprofessional decision by the referee. My only gripe, although I can't really complain, because I chose to make the long return journey, was the over the top admission price to get in, but then I knew that before I went, and as somebody else has said, you can't take it with you, so you might as well spend it. I was impressed with the speed at which we got through proceedings last night, and of course for Len having that car park hole filled at long last. Good luck to both sides at Leicester tonight.

If you haven't already done so, please go onto the Scunthorpe website and read the 'PrayforRicky' statement put on there today. Their promoter has really poured his heart and feelings out in public, and at the age of nearly seventy, brought me to tears, and I'm being serious. He's spoken and written with such emotion and feeling, and I take my hat off to you Mr Godfrey a million times over, for opening up and exposing yourself to world the as a kind and caring human being. Thank you very much for that, we all take life for granted, and your statement has opened my eyes, lets pray that Ricky's do the same thing. Mike Moseley (King's Lynn).
  17. Looking forward to this meeting, do any locals know what the weather forecast for that area is tomorrow please. Due to a commitment elsewhere during the day, I've got to leave home at 9.00am, and I'm not one of these modern jack the lads with an Ipad or Iphone.......to thick to understand how to use them!!
  18. Thanks for that info Laurence, it's refreshing to know that there are a handful of us interested in publicising these Junior Leagues as much as possible. It's just a shame that other people that could provide a similar service, show little or no interest in doing so. These leagues are for the benefit of the long term future of British Speedway, and we should be really pushing these youngsters names, not hiding them away in short messages on Facebook or Twitter. It seems the world starts and ends with those two media outlets now, and that's both a shame and wrong IMO. Anyway mate, you keep humming the tune, and I'll sing it.......Twitters won't have a clue what I'm talking about
  19. £1.50 to you.........our meetings are so few and far apart that I can't remember what's left in stock, so I hope I haven't told you something that's already gone. Got plenty of James Cockle or Any Mountain!!!!
  20. A good service boz, one that I appreciate very much, as those who are prepared to give detailed results of NJL events are extremely rare. Heaven only knows when usually there are only four heats to type out. So thanks once again. Was this the final of the NJL Riders' Championship, or was it tied up with the Northern Open Championship, this league is all a bit confusing due to proper publicity?
  21. No mate, as far as I'm aware, the next meeting is on the 21st August.
  22. You're more than welcome Laurence, always happy to post full MDL results as and when I see a meeting. The service being provided on Facebook is just not comprehensive enough, by a long shot. Do you by chance know if there is a staging date for Milton Keynes v King's Lynn yet, or has it been staged with no results published? Regards Mike
