    Rayleigh Rockets

i think the track was built by johnny guilfoyle for his son laurie guilfoyle to practise on.laurie raced second halfs at rayleigh and i think he may of made a few apperances for the rockets. It was indeed Laurie and Johnny G. It's amzing whats still out there, had some sent over from teh USA, so more work to do.

    Rayleigh Rockets

Now Young Robert, I can correct you on this, because there was indeed a track, it was owned by a former Rayleigh rider and used as a training track, when it was found out they made them close it, Footage is on the Days Gone By DVD. (see link below). terry Stone gave me all the details on it.

    Inexcusable Behaviour...

Baz, Hans actual words were, "!we don't mind banter, shouting and fun, we expect it, and to be honest we enjoy it" the fans here obviously wanted their team to win, we appreciate that, but we draw the line at people throwing bottles", I think that says it all, the morons outside banging on the glass and shouting abuse, well I'd like to say it was just kids, but it wasn't, it was a mixtures of all ages who obviously either are not regular supporters or are just pathetic, I think the latter. As for the Danes not signing autographs?, well my little girl got all of em and riders posed for photo's too. maybe when they got back out side, they thought best just to get into a safer place after what went on earlier, and who can blame them. True fans would not stoop so low.

    Inexcusable Behaviour...

I really couldn't agree more, I too was at that Press Conference and felt totally embarrassed by it. When the PR man has to apologise for so called fans it leaves you speechless. For the record Glass Bottled beer was on sale at £10 for 4 bottles in the bar, maybe we are looking at having to stop Beer being sold, thus preventing those that do enjoy a drink having their night spoilt by a few idiots.!
  16. How about making it 7 man teams, 2 groups of 4 each group meets each other once, top 2 in semis and grand final (like they did for teh Daily Mirror Tourney in 1973. I think with 7 man teams we could match the Danes, Aussies and Swedes, plus it would be a real World TEAM Cup. Matches could be staged over 2 weeks at several tracks and just maybe a Cardiff Final. 1 semi in the North and 1 in the South Now that would be good.

Hi Nick, I think we should be called England, just like in 1975-80 when we knew we could win. Glad Chris is in, but wish we had some rider with home track knowledge. Will be there early, so come and have a chat.

I thought Kevin did a excellent job, more like he does at eastbourne and far better than he is allowed to do at Cardiff, he is a top guy, maybe a good choice of replacement for Mr Green with Kelvin on sky! He knows the sport and is clear, and why should he not want England to win, he is English and it's in England.

  23. Forward thinkers? I don't have a prob with these two guys, I think they have a great future and hope they go on to join the big league, but not yet (remember I watch 'em every week). Here endth the lesson on this one ? dont make me laugh Scuse me, was you not the chap who asked me advice of filming tut tut, you have never been the same since we won the ashes, anyway, let the thread get back to Tricks farewell. Speak soon no doubt.
  24. Sorry Anth gonna have to disagree on this one, the word "Blinkered" springs to mind, but I guess from 22000 miles away you have a very wide angle but no focas ring, try a tripod for a more stable view, any way, I will be watching the Eagles take on the Cheetahs on that day.
  25. not at £17 a time it's not. Both these two riders are or maybe Pirates of tomorrow, Trick was a Pirate of yesterday, be better to have Young England v Young Australia match if you want to show what these guys can do, and make it a series, what a spectacle that would be!
