  1. I have known Noddy ever since 1969 when Ipswich re-opened on The Heath. Indeed he was an amazing character, often drove riders and promoters mad, but he was so engaging and enthusiastic that in fact he was so much part of the sport.

I was in the party to Ukraine in 1990 and Neil MacFarlane would always relate an hilarious tale about Noddy.

I will miss his smile, his regular requests for lifts, and indeed if I ever wanted the inside story of a team or rider, Noddy always knew. We have lost some great names from Ipswich..JB John Earrey, Joe Thurley, Billy, etc..etc....Noddy old son, you were so much part of the Foxhall set up.....RIP old son

  3. News is that LUKE RUDDICK has NOT broken his wrist......fabulous for the boy who is showing teh form we knew he had in him.

he has burns on his hands and arm which will need some plastic surgery, but these shoudl heal better than a fracture

Some extra good news that following some phone calls on the way back from Buxton, that we will now have Jordan back for both Stoke and I.O.W.....many thanks to both Ross and Jordan for their concern for Luke.

  4. My abject apologies..I have not seen this tribute, but i was aware of Bryan's passing

thanks for ll teh tributes especially relating to his statistical genius....but indeed he was a great deal more

I have been a friend for many years, always swapping Xmas cards greetings and the latest gossip.

he sadly lost his son a few years back....I always called Bryan "Biggles" due to the massive leather coat he wore like an old aviator

His quote when he advised me of his sons death..."we have lost one out of the back of the plane"....so sad.

I shall miss him, a lovely gentle bear of a man, who was a huge asset to the BSPA during his short stay as Manager

    farewell my old mate Biggles......

    over and out

  5. Bob was a dear friend over the 40 odd years since I got to know him. Always great company, always full of gossip, great humour and yet never anything spiteful or hurtful. I valued our friendship, he was like myself, at our prime in teh heady days of 1970/1980's. Between us we did the presentation of John berry's final book at Ipswich something I still treasure, and something JB was delighted with...no greater praise in Bob's estimation.

I will miss those very amusing telephone calls, a man of quality, humour and yet shy and quite sensitive.

Miss ya Bobby, you were a class act on the mike...in your writings and most of all as a human being.

Rest with teh Angels old luv

  6. That is dreadful news...I have known, admired and loved his company for over 40 years....David was a superb "mike man", but great company, funny, quck thinking, amusing erudite and somebody I respected, admired and proud to have been a friend....Awfully sad sad news..thoughts with all the family...xx

  7. Don't cross Jack Geran off the list just yet!! Just heard back from Reg Fearman who confirms that Jack is living in a retirement home in Exeter following the recent death of his wife Janet. Hopefully Jack will stay on the list for a long time to come.
