  1. Loan Campton out now. There'll be plenty of takers ... but does that jeopardise his Visa?
  2. I think if a sponsor (employer) brings someone in on an employment visa it allows that person to work for them ... it doesn't automatically mean they can work for other employers. I'm guessing that's the issue ... but I thought it was Workington who brought in Ty?

    Workington 2018 .

Shame MW has moved on ... Campton "super glued to No. 2" and Sergeant playing "how far can I get my average down before I move on" ... destroyed Matt's season last year. At reserve he was doing a grand job ... so we then put him at 4 ... crazy idea. Not enthused so far with our build other than Dan Bewley ... who despite Campton's improvement last year ... DB is already a better rider (using average as a differentiator)

Well that's the Number 2 jacket filled for the entire season ... All I can say is I'm happy Bewley has signed ...

    Workington 2018 .

Bewley every day of the week :-) Klindt? I've seen him on a variety of tracks and I've seen nothing that impresses me. If he gates he's very fast ... if he doesn't gate .... he packs up on lap 2 cough cough Happy to give him his shot .... but it'll have be slick every week at Derwent Park or he'll packit in

    Workington 2018 .

The only rider I'd have back, assumes Cooky lets Comets go (which he should), would be Matty W ... He progressed into main body with improvement ... but Campton was not giving up the 2 jacket and when Tape breaker arrived he wasn't giving up Matty's old reserve birth. So he was stuck at 4. As a result he struggled and nothing was done to help him in team positions (he should have been at 2) ... Anyway compare other teams number 4's:- 1) Kyle Newman 2) Ulrich Ostergaard 3) Ludvig Lindgren 4) Josh Bates 5) Ryan Douglas So if we go again on track in 2018 ... bring back Matty and look for another 6 ...
  7. Yeah and lose revenue as a result lol
  8. Reduced fixtures - could be bigger crowds? Less running costs. Wrap it up by end of Sept. I agree about fixture discipline ... even to the point of if it's rained off twice ... then dish out the points 3 home and 1 away point No double ups or downs (and deffo no riders in 3 leagues) Tape break - 2 mins warning straight on Tractors after heat 4,8,12 that's it ... KOC draw over both legs ... then most heat winners decides it, followed by most 5-1s, failing that race by race until a heat advantage gained (manager nominates race by race and no riders ride more than once) No more mug shots of Phil Morris running GPs HA HA HA HA
  9. For Workington at Sheff 6. James Sarjeant - 2, 1, 0, 1*, EF = 4+1 For Glasgow at Sheff (Guest) 6. James Sarjeant (Guest) - 2, 3, 1, 1', 0, 3, 0 = 10+1 Classic- get rid
  10. Perfect positioning by James ... apologises for lack of form with Comets ... but his average drops ... guests and he gets loads of points and money and guess what ... yeah his average is unaffected ... DUH!! Get rid So I'm expecting double figures now for his guest booking lol
  11. Cook was superb to watch and still rides Heat 15's when the team are battered - respect to him. Other than 1 decent race each from Jorgenson and Proctor / Williamson there was nothing. It was fortunate that Proctor and Williamson had a decent heat to deliver a 1-8 ... imagine the score without that lol The riding order of this team IMO is just wrong and has been for months. It should be Cook, Williamson, Campton, Jorgenson, Proctor, 6, 7. Proctor is hiding at 3 and Williamson HAS to be at 2. If Comets run next year Cookie should leave (bigger things for him) I'd keep Matty and let the rest go ... IMO this is the poorest Comets team I've seen in years. Name: Tonight:Next Season Cook: Excellent: He should leave Campton: Unlucky: Not for me ... I still don't see a rider capable of much more than he is / has been Proctor: Inconsistent (had an E/F at the tapes in one heat / packed up when last in another):No - not convinced and he is way too inconsistent Williamson: He's a trier: Yep he is on the up Jorgenson: Poor: No Sergeant: Very Poor: Never Who is our Number 7 lol
  12. LL is right ... there needs to be regular speedway every week same day at the same time (rain offs etc the exception) so fans are used to just going to the speedway ... back in the day it was Friday night = speedway. Now it's "Ah there's none on this week" or ... "season is over now due to league position" .. it's a horror story :-( Such a shame ...
  13. I know the team ... is the team ... but surely a riding order of Cook, Williamson, Campton, Jorgenson, Proctor, R1, R2 would be better? Williamson would at least have Heat 8 to have a go in ... and get some confidence back? Williamson has improved enormously it's just a shame now he's up against teams with more experience/comparably better riders at Number 4 (e.g. Lindgren, Douglas, Bates). Heat 14 without a ringer reserve in the team it's almost a given as a heat dis-advantage :-( Also the improved Campton should be able to take the 3 jacket now? That would leave Heat 13 as Cook, Proctor Heat 14 as Jorgenson,Reserve then Heat 15 as Cook, (Jorg or Proctor). Problem is with our league position not being great and so many matches to play ... that'll affect the crowd as we are not riding in a "current" league table (if you see what I mean)
  14. Great meeting ... Graverson not at fault in Heat 14 for me ... hard underneath Etheridge but didn't seem to be any contact that caused the fall .. Sheff very strong outfit ... Josh G class act
  15. Speedway was not the winner for me ... a meeting almost 3 hours in duration??? Tractor racing, re-working the track on bends 3 and 4 for 30 mins, tapes malfunction (how many times? I lost count). Roy fills in very well but dear me it was dragged out tonight ...
  16. I wasn't at the match so I don't know the circumstances ... But it seems a little strange to play the B/W against the home number 1 and then in the same heat switch out your "senior" reserve and bring in the "junior" one? Net result 4-4. Stevie Worrall 3+1(4) for a guesting number 1 is very poor :-( ... if he did only have one bike there as suggested on other posts then that's even worse ... can't remember any number 1 turning up with only one bike ... yowser
  17. Well reasoned thoughtful post LL ... tops
  18. Did you miss the first 10 words of my post? No I don't "have it in" for Mason ... but neither am I declaring him as a world beater just yet ... I'm just reflecting about his away form (with some scores/facts) in response to a "good season so far" comment talking about Matt and Mason. Not sure "other Comets are blatantly struggling"? Why would they do that lol
  19. I'm chuffed to bits that Mason's home form is great ... Cookie is helping him enormously in my opinion which shows the sort of guy/Captain that Cookie is However his away form is yet to be proven imo i.e.4+1(4) at Newcastle he was off the pace and was gifted 2 points due to falls by Diamonds riders. Phillips and Coles that he took points off are at the moment quite weak (ask any Diamonds fan) ... the 2nd place he got he was half a straight behind Ashley Morris. At Glasgow he also managed 4+1(4). You could argue he's making his average away ... but the argument to include him in the team was he'll do better than his average .... for Comets to win away he'll need to score paid 6-7 ... fingers crossed
  20. http://www.speedwaygb.co/news.php?extend.31837 Can anyone from Comic Relief or Darcy Ward Foundation please confirm that money, and how much, was given to Comic Relief? If they have it should be applauded if they haven't ... why not? Cheers
  21. The Darcy Ward Foundation is a Private Limited Company details can be found here:- https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10454077 Directors are Neil Middleditch, Diane Turner, Jill Smith. Darcy Ward is not listed as a director which seems weird? If you'd like to check Registered Charities you can do it here:- http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/AdvancedSearch.aspx I could not see The Darcy Ward Foundation listed as a charity so I'd assume they'll be paying taxes such as Corp Tax etc

That's bang on HT ... Roynon and Campton as 4th and 5th average classified riders in the Comets line up ... they do hold the key to Comets success or failure this season for sure.

I could well be wrong on this ... I don't remember Hansen ever being in a reserve birth for Comets? Apologies if this is not the case. With the level of injuries sustained by Roynon ... I think it's incredible he rides at all ... can't knock that
