National League Fours 2011
chopper replied to 21st century heathen's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Anyone think a rider like Roynon has it easy in the National league had better think again. The quality of the league is first rate,a look around last night showed some top machinery, and quiet a few premier league reserves, and some good youngsters and some quality older riders. And Adam was made to work hard for his points. The National league is a very good league at present. Chopper -
Enjoyed the trip to Lakeside, a nice little circuit, although a bit more grip for the riders would produce better racing , even an outside line would be better.I agree its dissapointing that more fans dont turn out Interesting that i dont remember one faller all night, although i didnt see every race i dont think there was any restarted races. Perhaps good the ref didnt need to make any decisions after his howler in heat 6 , awarding the win to the wrong rider, hopefully he just got the helmet colours wrong, is it time that speedway used transponders, certainly cant believe there not used in world class meetings. Whats happened to this fixture?. Chopper

Youve sussed me out Martin, i only mechaniced at Bellue Vue for the free biscuits. Whos going to be the first club to hand out the free pints, then maybe BFD will help out. Chopper

Quality first up effort from Cameron looked assured on the bike and attacked the track from the start. Obviously the track staff had started to water early and to have a mid afternnon meeting on a warm day and have very little dust and two good racing lines still in heat 15 was a credit to them. All finished off by a nice spread of food for the riders, mechs and staff, and a well needed cold pint of lager. I can see why people are turning up in good numbers. Darrell Branford

Upmost respect to Jason Garrity for his approach to taking Robert down on sunday. Respect for the lad. Chopper
-
Good luck to the lad, given time he should do well. The 'one' hasnt yet reached your shores, not permanently anyway, ha, ha. Chopper
-
How many names do you want, can think of ten off the top of my head. Chopper
-
Cant speak for all the aussies but Robert cost Buxton 10 pounds per point, and Jayne will verify that, any other costs were met by us. Chopper
-
Anyone come across a video clip of heat 11. Chopper
-
You b--------d but hey i wont argue with you, dont tell him though. Cheers Chopper
-
He was very aware what was going on, thats why he started looking behind after two laps when he had a big lead and slowing the race down. Thats how team riding is done, great ride even if i do say so myself. Chopper

Would love to see a video clip of the race , a few regular sheffield supporters were saying it was the best race there for many a year. Full credit to the riders who just got on with the job in what were trying conditions early on. No good up and coming British speedway riders, i dont think so. Chopper

British Semi-final # 1 Sheffield

I second that , Kyle Newman got better as the meeting progressed, and i bet he and others are better for the experience. Chopper -
Quote, Reading the programme notes today Baggy it does seem the promotion want some dirt on the track, and although there may have been a bit too much in the first 4 heats once the track settled it rode well I thought If thats the case they need to be applauded, too many tracks are set up way to slick and this causes gate and go racing. Great little stadium there and really enjoyed our visits last season and pleased to see them back and doing well. Cheers Darrell Branford

Couldnt let this go unanswered, Adam was atleast a bike length ahead and Darren fell completely om his own. Its horrible news that Darren has broken his femur but no way was Adam Allot anything to do with it. Chopper
-
Bit of a joke that Jayne cant find a 7th rider who is willing to ride for the national league rate. Bet there are a few aussies that have been excluded from riding that are sitting at home that would jump at the oppourtunity. Chopper

Wheres these medals, i thought that maybe the BSPA were supposed to hand them out. Chopper

Great news, enjoyed my trips to Mildenhall last season. I know Robert will be pleased as well, he loved the place. Chopper

Posted 08 November 2010 - 11:38 PM I ve given some thought to the problem where if you have more than one rider out for various reasons you cannot use a guest. At the start of every month the bspa can release a riders average, say 4 and under make them a 1, between 4.1 and 5 make them a 2,and so on up to a 10 point average and if more than one replacement is required or even for an r/r you can use a rider with the same number as a guest. This way riders would pick up extra rides and the situation that happened towards the end of the season could be avoided. Also riders that are trying to break into the Premier league but still need the National league to fall back on wont be as big an issue to be replaced when fixtures clash. Upcoming Aussie Season Dates
chopper replied to BigFatDave's topic in International World of Speedway
A few noticeable omissions here, and a definite learning opportunity for emerging Mildura teenager Brenton Barnfield, who won the Australian Under 16s 350cc Championship in 2009, but all in all an exciting mix of riders which should guarantee some great racing. Go ROOBOY!! Think Authur Sissis won that Dave, had a few too many i think buddy, must be the weather. Cheers Chopper -
Nominations for the Aust senior titles close on the 14th dec. I would say that there wouldnt be a field selected until atleast after that date. Chopper

South Australian Under 16 125cc Solo Championship

Big well done to Max, to beat Authur around his home track is no easy feat. Also well done to Seth Hickey, it would be great to see him win an aussie title berth, hes come a long way in a few seasons and ive also seen him on Roberts 500 and he is quick. Jack Norman is the son of former south aussie champion and international rider Scott Norman and is in only his first season of racing after coming through the novice section. The future of the sport looks good with these youngsters. Bring on the aussie under 16s at Sidewinders in January. Chopper -
I spent 6 months travelling to many meetings with my son and i believe that the league is giving a lot of young kids great experience. As for problems with the rules, maybe the promoters need to get together and nut out some answers and put them to the bspa. Wether they would listen is debatable but the future of the sport needs people and promoters like yourself.
