We were saying to ourselves last week Mason won't ride. Sure enough
People do have other jobs unfortunately. It's all done on a voluntary basis. I'm guessing with our lineup not fully known until today there wasn't anything published. Kean Dicken is the other reserve for Mildenhall. At least Birmingham care enough to preview this meeting, still nothing on Mildenhall website less than 24 hrs before the event.
Does anyone know if the above listed riders will actually line up in those orders please?
Why does it matter about the riding order out of interet.Hope you're not 1 of these people who print out a programme to save buying 1 lol

What a meeting that was. Well done to all. Brilliant

Track looks good to the eye. Just cloudy at the moment. American team about to have a practice
Track looks smooth

We had a meeting a few weeks back when we were predicted rain all afternoon. We didn't have a thing. I've also been through Mildenhall and its been tipping down, got to the track and it's been bone dry. Seems the track has its own weather system at times. As I said, as long as I have signal (can be hit and miss there) I will update all the social media places I can.

He's not riding in this meeting. Just Buxton. Bickley and JPB replaced by Luke Priest and Nathan Stoneman
-
I'll be at the track from 11.30 this morning. If anything happens I'll post on here (signal permitting)

Doesn't mean people can't have an opinion because Kevin works hard.
Or even get laughed at for voicing it surely
I never said they couldn't have an opinion? Just in my opinion it's being pretty petty towards what Kev had said. Was hardly bad was it lol.
-
Blimey. Clearly Kev isn't doing a good enough job of annoying people recently, so people have to pick up on the most ridiculous things instead. Comical really haha

2012 NATIONAL LEAGUE TEAM DECLARATIONS ISSUE 28 (Final issue)
Adam Roynon 11.64
2017 NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE Issue 14
Adam Roynon 10.24
19.8.2 A Riders MA will be based upon their latest (attained during the seasons 2011 2016 only) NDL or PL MA (multiplied by 2 and subject to a minimum / maximum converted MAs being 3.00 / 12.00. NB. Where a rider has both a previous PL and NDL MA, the highest will apply.
Can someone (hopefully Laurence) tell me why Roynon's average is 10.24 (or double his Workington one) and not 11.64 (the Dudley one) ?
The extra point or so takes Plymouth over the limit.
I believe it's called making it up as they go along.

Dan's a rider who's popular amongst the whole set up at Mildenhall. Part of the furniture now. On his day is capable of beating anyone in the NL. I believe he has changed some equipment this season, wether that has had something to do with his indifferent start to the season,i don't know. All I do know is I have no doubt that his average will be on the rise soon enough.
I think Dan's confidence took a huge knock years ago. He had just started riding PL for Rye and was averaging over 4.5,then just got dropped. Considering the progress he had made it must have come as a bit of a shock. He hasn't been the same since then. Although last year towards the end he was flying everywhere pretty much.
-
Well in Luke lad. Continuing your fine start for us in the NL. Same again tomorrow please

I've not been this season and seem pretty unlikely too. In previous season's it just lifts as soon as a rider slides into it (poor design or poor fitting) either way it exposes rider and machine to the armco barrier behind which makes it pretty inadequate in my opinion.
I'd say the lifting is a common problem with a majority of air fences tbh.

I'd never question the amount of effort put in by the Mildenhall promotion but got to think the choice of shale is a factor. Mildenhall is small and the margin for error is tiny. A patchy surface will always cause problems and an inadequate air fence only adds to the woes
Out of interest how is it inadequate? Half of it was only purchased this season

Are you involved in the club adz_mft? I'd like to hear the views of someone involved as to why there is no consistency with the track. I understand the stock cars issue but it wasn't as much of a problem years ago and nowadays it's pot luck as to what you're going to see. One week it produces brilliant speedway and the next time loads struggle to get round.
I have nothing to do with the track or the management side of things. Only help out with the twitter account. I honestly can't answer what goes on with the track as I don't arrive until 12.30.What goes on from 6am until then I've no idea.
-
Would you class the track as acceptable today? That was absolutely ridiculous and Jolly's attitude to the Plymouth riders horrendous. I'll be heading to Ipswich or Peterborough for my speedway now.
No I wouldn't. The track was poor at the start. Nobody can deny that. All it needed was a bit of a track grade. The tractors were going out and grading between heats. Reading some comments from their riders it would suggest that we weren't doing anything which is rubbish though. To the eye the track looked fine but it was obviously pretty patchy.
-
How was the track for everyone yesterday?
-
Diabolical track? Haha. What exactly was wrong with it? Have not seen 1 complaint from any fan or rider. Clutching at straws trying to blame something else for the loss. Deary meKelsey has a broken scaphoid probs done at Plymouth?
Tom Brennan had a new tyre
Bad day away for Eastbourne, Mildenhall always good at home (impressive side this year) diabolical track as always
I wouldn't say it was massively slick . Mildenhall lads out gating Eastbourne most of the time and Eastbourne being poor and unable to pass the team riding that Mildenhall were doing. I am hoping that they put the race between Ayres and Wood up. Side by side for a few laps, great stuff. There was nothing wrong at all with that track on Sunday. Was in excellent condition tbh. The heat times suggest it stayed pretty good also. All around the 51/52 mark compared to the 53/54 second mark last week when it was slickDidn't seem to be much passing on the updates was it slick?

I don't think losing Taylor has anything to do with it if I'm honest.Shame that Mildenhall have opted not to field an MDL side this season and focus on home rider development? 2nd half track time is very important to riders of all ages so whilst its a benefit that they club will still supply it i can't help thinking they are being very short sighted by not including a Jnr squad and giving them experience of racing on other tracks, as part of a team and the travelling required etc. The cynic in me thinks that they are upset about losing Taylor Hampshire as the MDL offered him exposure to other clubs but their actions are going to create riders who can only ride the west row circuit?
Looking at the MDL table from last year. Our group in particular.Other than King's Lynn where's the next closest to us?
Coventry won't be in it.MK might be at Peterborough again, but as we run on the same day it's a bit tough to be in 2 places at once. Then the rest are way up North. Can't see how it would work say getting 4 kids up to Belle Vue mid week for example with school the following day etc for a couple of heats afterwards. Not really that feasible if I'm being honest.
The club is doing the thing they think will bring on the talent we have in the area best.If that means just having a junior 2nd half meeting, that suits me fine.

Coles signs for Newcastle. That solves that 1 then lol

That's correct.
Personally, I think Mildenhall will be crazy to leave him out but clearly its him or Mountain unless the points limit changes.
At the beginning of June, Coles was averaging around the 5.5 mark and at the end of the season 7.1. It doesn't take a genius to work out that he was very consistent in the second half of 2016 - averaging just over 9 at home and just under 8 away for a figure of around 8.5.
No reason why he can't do the whole of 2017 like that, which means you get an 8.5 rider on an average of 1.5 or so less than that.
If Mildenhall do leave him out, with that potential I doubt if he will be without a club for long.
There was no doubt he picked up form, but you could also go the other way and say, what happens if he averages the same as at the start of last season.Damned if you do,damned if you don't I guess.Unfortunately for us we had to leave out 1 of the top 4 which was always going to be a tough ask in my eyes.
Having said all this, maybe Mountain isn't going to be ready and we do sign Coles.Who knows.I trust the promotions judgement on whatever they decide
-
I agree which is why I thought he wouldnt be fit for April. Hopefully he's back sooner rather than later because he's a promising rider.
His physio is going really well.Think he's looking to be back on a bike around late Feb/March.
Hopefully Bowtell returns.Seemed to enjoy his time with us.Ruddick is worth another go on that average.Especially with there likely to be so many new 3 pointers.A longer stint at reserve with Jenkins the 1 to move up could do him the world of good
I'm just interested to see where these new 3 pointers are going to appear from. Not a lot out there tbh

I just thought it would make the team very top heavy. Plus I expected Coles to sign.
The way Mountain talked at the end of season do suggested to me that he'd be back..
I'd be surprised if he was anywhere else in the NL if I'm honest
-
That must mean that Mountain isn't fit for the start of the campaign unfortunately.
Why does it?
-
I see him at Ipswich over most other PL teams too tbh, although maybe Hume or Coles will be there instead?
From the interview Louis gave the other day I think Hume and Mountain will be who they go with.

As long as signal allows I'll try and keep the weather updates on here like last time. Just overcast right now with the sun popping out every now and again. Hopefully will be fine for today
