Why are you doing this John........you know full well you wrote the review of this book and you even know where it is.
Is it your intent to destroy this thread also?
John, its very sad for me to say but what respect I had left for you has now melted away.
Please stop this and let others enjoy the threads.
Its not all about you!

I'm guessing someone's been deleting threads they've started once again.
Just take a look at who's laughing at your post.....that will give you a clue.

Thanks for posting that Bavarian......That was enjoyable.

There is about a six page article in Classic Speedway Issue 21 Summer 2013.......he chose between Speedway and a job and the Job won.
He also went to Leningrad with the Aces in 1969

Nah, I know you can do it!!!

You kind of missed my point......you already know the answers why ask the question?
Why not just put out something like "Here is a link for Keith Harvey if you have any other information I'd appreciate it?" or something on those lines

Why do you do this John, you answer your own question with an article YOU wrote....... You really do ask for some of the "Flak" you get.

Test Matches were always great......One of the one's that really sticks in my mind was the GB v USSR international at Wembley in 1964.....Although the Russians were well beaten the atmosphere there was nothing short of fantastic.
Wish they would bring back regular test matches now.
There was another series in Australia in 2001.....Young Australia v Young Britain.....Aussies won the series 5-4
Thanks for posting.

Rayleigh (1949-1957, 1963)
Leicester (1956)
Poole (1958, 1959)
Ipswich (1960-1962)
Coventry (1962)
Hackney (1964-1970)Think I remember seeing him at New Cross in 60 or 61.

Some supreme stylists that come to mind for me are Craven, Sjosten, Lofqvist, Harrfeldt, Loram and Kelly Moran (especially on the US tracks).

From my part, I never saw Aage Hansen ride........

Would not be too sure of that Bob....of the 16 I have seen all but the number 1, Arthur Payne.

Also know that he told me, he was less than enthusiastic about the return of the Dons venture. So maybe it was more, lack of enthusiasm for modern speedway
Yes you are right about the return of the Dons venture, I remember him saying the same thing to me.......and you could well be right about modern Speedway...we both did have a few "beefs" with it at the time.

Didn't know about his health, and hope he is doing well. Very nice guy, and as i said, an essential website he put together
He definitely NEVER lost interest in the sport especially International meetings (Same as me).

On a serious note....anyone know what has happened to Brian Collins?
We were friends and have met him several times....we talked over email almost every day when I was collecting most of the programmes pictured on there....in fact I had so many he asked me slow down on sending them on several occasions...LOL
Nice guy, I do know he had some health problems and our emails to each other just died....he did I believe had Alzheimer's.
He could not update the site anymore as his software was no longer usable with the host site.
I have checked out his name many times on the internet hoping for some news but, alas, no success.

They sure did, I have the pleasure of remembering those days...full stadiums, crazy fans yelling their heads off and some great racing......
Polish speedway is ENTERTAINMENT plus, and a lot of professionalism thrown in and first class stadiums........I guess that's what money can do when spent in the right places.

So I think Russian competitors have to compete as athletes without representation or some such description, hence no flag. I then think it's up to the sports governing body to decide if any Russia nationals are allowed to compete. Presumably on the basis that they believe them to be free of doping and/or that the individuals have co-operated in testing.
I think the same will apply at the Olympics. Although in the Euro's the team was definitely referred to as Russia.
Interesting to see what happens at the SON. Are Sayfutidinov and Laguta still the defending champs?
Noticed on the official FIM results that "Russia" was omitted alongside Sayfutdinov and Lagutas names.

It is with great sadness that I share with you Jack Geran’s peaceful passing. The family were with him Father’s Day and yesterday his daughter Sarah and granddaughter (me) were with him all day. Just as in speedway he was a favourite and much loved part of Ivydene residential home.Under the circumstances we have decided not to have a service for Dad. Instead we will hold a memorial in the future. Which we will keep you informed.Jack would want you all to enjoy the sunshine today and a cold beer.Thank you for all you support over these past few years. From the Geran family.SOURCE: World Speedway Riders Assoc....Facebook.- 3
