DH... Why? Scottie won the race...! 'What goes around comes around'... What a classic quote, especially coming from Hans! I can see it now. Sunday. Heat 25. GB winning, Oz second, Denmark third. The Aussies need to win the race to stop Denmark becoming champions. The GB rider has a little look around. What happens next...? What goes around comes around!

Reading Semi-final
Ace no.5 replied to Private Dancer's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I totally agree BM. Tactical knowledge was non-existant AGAIN tonight! Heat 18 or Heat 20 would have been better for the tactical. At least a second was expected in both races! Did Middlo really think Lee could beat Hancock?! Then there was also 2 very decent riders in Hampel and Gjedde to consider (none of whom ran a last place tonight...!) What the hell was he thinking?! As soon as Lee didn't make the gate that was that! And I also hope Steady's confidence is not down, as he has not run a last place yet in this SWC. To take him out twice tonight was a joke, the extra ride would have done him the world of good i'm sure. -
Middlo Is Another Sven

I know one thing for sure. Middlo's tactical moves tonight were straight out of the Eriksson book! Pathetic! The Poles were never even close to getting us! Why just totally undermine Steady's confidence by replacing him twice! Great tactical by Lee. Again! Why not use Scottie in heat 20 against Gollob, Iversen and Correy?! I'd say more chance of points there than against Hampel, Hancock and Gjedde! Steady hasn't come last in a race in the SWC yet, and yet Middlo takes him out twice. As soon as Lee didn't gate, that was it for the tactical... -

No problem, store it in your archive. You'll be waiting a LONG time to use it though, and then it will only get deleted... -

That's why dac posted that...! -
Very unpopular you say? And that is why 90% of the stadium stayed to applaud his success? Compared to, what, 70% or so last year for TRick? I'd say he was the most popular Cardiff GP winner, along with Hancock...

El Pairs

Having watched the meeting back on Sky, I thought it was very poor that the analysts and commentators didn't have a clue what happened if a team was tied on points. How are people watching at home supposed to know?! All it would have taken was a quick scan in the programme to see what happened in the event of a tie...! Also meant to say last night, not too impressed by the format. They should at least have 2 semi finals, winner of group A vs runner up of group B and winner of group B vs runner up of group A. Would certainly have kept it more interesting, and we could have then had Poole in the semi with no reason to complain when they got knocked out by the Robins...! -

Well done Crumpy and Steady, deserved winners. Steady came good when it mattered. The rules were there for all to see at the start of the meeting (doesn't mean they're right, but the rules were set out...) so every pair knew exactly what they had to do. BV knew they really needed a 7-2 in their last heat, they got it. That then put the pressure on the Pirates who knew they needed 6 points to qualify. They knew what had to be done... Now back in September, when Coventry won the 'League title' from finishing second, I, and all other BV fans, were told by god knows how many people on here, from all different clubs, that everyone knew the rules at the start of the day. I've dealt with that, I've said well done Coventry. This is a very similar scenario, apart from not as important. People just have to accept the result for what it was. Except that Shovvy never will and that is just sweet...! -
Damn Rob, how did you get Hancock at 10/1?! Ladbrokes were only offering sixes...!
-
Erm, nah... I went to the bookies today, could get Steady at 40s and Rico at 66s. Personally, the best bet for me was Adams at 14/1...

IF the weather is as expected, any chance they will leave the Stadium roof open for a change?
-
Yep, it says on the Cardiff GP Wildcard/Reserves thread...

That is hilarious. The lengths some people go to... -
SCB, yes, why not? If he's got 15 from 5 races, then he has beaten everybody on the night. And your point about 15th/16th was not valid coz they are already seperated by points gained in the heats and there is not a 'raceoff' situation for that!

Had to laugh at Ermolenko's comments regarding BV 'not being a good track for Steady to be riding at week in, week out', or words to that effect...! Since coming to BV Steady has now mastered our track and throwing in consistently high scores, home and away! Just coz you can't ride Kirky Lane Sam...! -
Goose, I agree, the 3rd place rider in the semis should get an extra point or 2 added to their score...
