    Sheffield & Scunthorpe Nl Team

cooperman was flying last sunday .. he looked like he was having fun .. to be fair on his 1st visit most riders struggled to turn there bikes ... even mr crump was finding it difficult to string 4 laps together i hope paul is in the scunny ( scunfield ... shefforpe ) team .. he's a cracking lad ,, out and out racer and knows how to communicate with younger / less experienced riders , and is great with the fans
  2. maybe there scared of riding a proper racetrack

    Most Improved Nl Rider

what about kyle howarth ?? .. in only is 2nd season riding & riding at number 2 .. he has doubled his average and had guest rides for pl teams .. for me he's got a very bright future
  4. Did it have no gears , brakes , run on race fuel ? Have you ever raced ?? We all got to start somewhere , at least these guys & girls had a bash
  5. i was ... dam cut-out would'nt work .. bought a new one & that didnt work either .. we spent the first 10 races trying to sort it ;-( , well done to berwick speedway for putting on this event ... to track was well looked after as were the riders and well done to all the riders .. a few of my mates did really well .. jack hirst on his first visit .. adam kenyon was unlucky not to make the semi's & was getting faster ever race .. rachel hellowell did really good on her 1st visit too ...
  6. my top three for what its worth .. in no particular order ;-) 1, kyle howarth 2, tom perry 3, ashley morris

    Gb Under 21 Qualifiers

just spoke to kyle ... i believe he got second .. crap mobile connection .. good lad ;-) i cant praise this kid enough ... just turned 16 yr old in feb ... 2nd in the under 15's & 2nd in the under 18's last year this kid has only been riding speedway about 18 month ... and he's a really nice lad too the future looks very bright for this young man ... keep it up buddy
  8. the extinguisher was a powder one ... and yes i have been trained to use them as i work with chemicals on a refinery .. before anyone asks ... and i was maybe the closest to the fire been stood outside the cafe
  9. it was me mike .... to be honest i went to the cafe for marshmellows but they didnt have any .... so i thought i'd better pass him the extinguisher
  10. i was the one who passed ben barker the fire extinguisher ...i help out at the track on the odd occasions but due to working shift , been a single parent & riding amateurs / practise .. im not always available ... but fight the good fight for scunny speedway as & when i can ..... so i am sort of staff regarding the fire .... well its one of those things that happen rarely ... carbs flood .. spill on hot engines & whoosh i was in two minds whether to pass him the extinguisher or go sit by his bike ..... i was frozen like everyone else can't see why folk have a problem with a rider disappointed being second ... he must have felt confident he could have won it ... but he's young enough to win many more meetings .... and good luck to him
  11. well i enjoyed it ... a chance to catch up with a few guys i hardly see ,,, a few decent races in difficult conditions ..tho we ride it all the time in the amateurs .... and i was the one who stole the fire extinguisher from the cafe to put the bike fire out
  12. there's meetings every month at scunny ... be it amateur racing you get some very good rider's there through the winter & the track still produces good racing 50 + heats in four hours .. and its free entry for spectators details can be found on there website im looking forward to the xmas cracker meeting .. im hoping that they can get some big names to race maybe a few who couldnt make the kenny smith meeting i would love to see a few more elite / gp riders showing there support to scunny's fantastic race track
  13. im glad the scunny boys had a good meeting & made a good impression on you all young kyle howarth does have a very bright future , he's only been riding speedway since july 08 and has come on leaps & bounds ,,, he's a really nice lad too ,, scunthorpes youth policy seems to be paying off

    Pre Gp Races

glad your ok m8 ,, hey it wasnt your fault the other young lads didnt get there 2nd ride ,, you have nothing to be sorry about ,, it was the organisers fault for putting a crap tribute band on instead of speedway ( we'd all payed to see speedway , not some ponce pretending to be queen ) hope your back on track soon

    Pre Gp Races

to be honest it was the fact kyle howarth & young reecie was riding at cardiff that tipped the scales on me going or not i've become very good friends with kyle & his crew this last 11 months ,, and he only decided to started speedway after watching the under 15's at cardiff last year and look how far the kid had progressed ,, the damage pulling the plug on these young lads has untold consequences from current to future riders / fans been disillusioned with the set-up ,, im pleased to say though that young kyle had an awesome few days in cardiff and loved the experience ,,, hob nobbing with the superstars ,,

    Pre Gp Races

i was disgusted at poor reece been excluded ,, he must have been gutted poor lad i spoke to his dad earlier on in the day ,, they had mechanical gremlins at practise & reece didn't get time to have a practice ,, then for some jobs worth to exclude the kid ,,, well words fail me ,, i really felt for the kid hope the kid who got hurt is ok then for the powers that be to cancel the rest of the young ones having there next rides ,, so we could watch someone ponce about pretending to be Freddie mercury ,, not once but twice ,and the other rubbish we had to endure ,, well ...... i was spitting feathers ,, i payed to watch the speedway not the so called 'fill in ' entertainment ,, hope they sort it out for next year ,,, im a speedway fan & want to see speedway ...... rant over
  19. neil ,, you deserve some credit to m8 ,, you've passed on your experience ,, given your time & no doubt shed loads of cash for ash to follow his dreams ,,,, he's a good kid who just keeps getting better & better ,, just like the rest of the young lads we often see at scunny ripping it up ,, if you want to see wobblers ,, come and watch me and my pal's in the support class at scunny but i dont care what folk say about me ,, im big enough and ugly enough to left hook anyone brave enough to say it to my face ,,,, its my hobby & i love it ,,, it takes big balls to keep the throttle open for 4 laps ,,, luck for me i have another use for mine so i do wobble around ,, but at least im having a go & my money helps keep these clubs going hope these young lads who get slagged off take no notice , its not worth the effort keep up the good work neil
  20. well done to all the riders today ,, very well done kyle howarth & very tough luck young ashley morris ,, you was clearly the fastest rider on show today but just lost it on your gating in the final ,, better luck next time young man the youngsters on the 250's didnt look big enough to be out of nappies , but boy could these kids ride the future looks very bright for most riders on show today ,, keep up the good work boys
  21. this should be a awesome competion ,, with the scunny young guns aka kyle , james & ashley ,, and the other wanna be's , i for one are looking forward to watching these young guns ripping it up ,, all the best to the scunny lads
  22. if i was a betting man my money would be on klye howarth , if any of you guys haven't seen him ride yet your in for a treat , he's a true racer who never give's up ive had the pleasure following his very short ( so far ) speedway career , i think this lad will go far i hope he does to because he's a cracking lad who is always happy & polite ,,, his dads ok too
  23. they could start by not charging clubs who run practise & amateurs meeting then said clubs could reduce admission charges for the riders leaving them with more pennies to spend on equipment
  24. im 99.9 % sure its kyle haworth ... i was with him yesterday at scunny where he was flying i think his dad clocked him at 62 sec's which is awesome for a 14 yr old lad who only took up speedway less than 3 months ago .. and he's such a nice kid .. ive all the time in the world for him and his team im lucky because half the boys who rode in this meeting come to scunny for a skid .. talented kids everyone of them british speedway has a bright future if these riders stick at it
  25. im not sure if this has been done before .. but here goes could the world championship / gp's be run during domestic off season ??? what harm would it do ??? what good would it do ???
