Once Your Team Has Closed Down

I've seen the Dons close twice now I follow Swindon now but it isn't my team, even now if anyone asks I support Wimbledon but cheer the Robins as they are my local club. It is not so bad, I can get really behind Swindon and made loads of friends there, but I would exchange all the good times I have had at Blunsdon for a return to plough lane. Up the Dons
  2. I've just finished watching the recording and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done Leigh a worthy winner and special mentions to Hans and Nicki also.
  3. This sound really good, I'm looking forward to the Swindon test already
  4. The comments about the track being slick on this thread are starting to get to me. British riders have been riding and learning their trade on slick tracks for donkeys, so why make excuses for them here? Once it may have been true, when British riders learnt on on big grippy grasstracks but how many of the British team know anything about those?
  5. This is just the result of years of total neglect for British speedway. At last we have now arrived at the level that investment ensures, second rate speedway. But hey at least the matches in the "Elite League" are closer.

    World Team Cup

It would have been nice if the girl carrying the union flag, on Scotty's bike, had been given one which was not upside down.
  7. Me neither Have you got a link Iris?
  8. Has anyone got any photos from the second semi? Ove Andersson's from Motala were fantastic, thanks for sharing them with us. As Seb says shame Mads just missed out, I take it he will be a reserve for the final? And well done to Lee.
  9. Is there any chance that the FIM can publish which referee will be officiating at each GP? Just so I know whether it is worth setting the DVD recorder.

    British Final

I think you miss heard. I was on the second bend for most of the evening with the Coventry fans and Dorset Delight and all I heard was encouragement for Tai from everyone.

I'll probably be standing near Adder at some point tonight and I'll be visiting the second bend to see the Coventry lot as well. I'll be wearing jeans and a cream jacket.

    British Final

Any idea how much money I am going to have to fork out to go to this meeting? I wish sky were showing it. Sandie, SCB, Crazysue and the rest I'll see you there.
  23. I would have thought that watching the meetings on TV would mean you had a better view of the entire meeting. My example would be the heat 15 incident at Blunsdon on Thursday and the semi-final incident last night, on Thursday all I saw from the home straigt was Harris going fast under Batchelor and what looked like contact, but having just watched the repeat of last night I saw several different camera angles and could make an educated decision on what happened as opposed to guesswork. Apologise for any spelling mistakes just done a 12 hour night shift then watched the GP. Clunsey (tired, and overworked)
