    Medical Services @ Prague

It is the more experienced riders that take their time to get off the track and it is often for medical reasons, Think of the poor mechanic who has to run back with the bike and get it straight again for the rerun. After killing the first four or five the rider realises he better try and hang on to the next bloke and buy him a bit of time. It is a well-known fact that referees believe you can rebuild a bike in two minutes. Another well-known fact is that riders always fall of or crash the furthest distance from the pits just to see who has the least fit mechanic. Seriously I am glad both Tony and Greg walked away from nasty looking crashes and I hope at last they will do something about the air fences on the straights. (Or should that be straightaways)

Thanks for the positive replies Sorry I missed you Pammie and I hope you are well again M.L. Inzell looks a good bet for next year, thanks to Wolfslayer, Conkers and German Speedway Fan for the info on this thread, and best wishes to anyone going to Berlin for the final.

    Icespeedway Assen - Day 2

Well I am just glad you guys have put the results on here, now I can check my programme and see if I was keeping up. Sorry I didn't get to meet you conkers, I did look out for you but the place was so packed out I didn't have a chance, It was some crowd. I don't know if Midnight Lady went ? I looked out for a sign of north of the border and found Theo Pijper, (wearing his Monarchs jacket) that was good he's a nice guy. I realy enjoyed my first taste of ice racing and now I have to seek out the best outdoor meeting to attend. Any suggestions ?
  5. Well now that I have my tickets, thanks to your help conkers I will look out for you at the track. Not long now.

    Ozi Title

Sorry Trackman !! I had seen the posts on here and the agreed meet up spot was to be a) early, and ' in the top row of the stand nearest the start / finish. I got there sometime after 5 pm and the place was quite full even then. I have no idea how I could have found someone I knew in the crowd later on closer to kick off time let alone trying to find someone I didn't know. Next year mate. Strewth, you guys take the biscuit, even a pom could find you two in a crowd, or at least one that knows what you both look like ha ha. If you want me to introduce you to each other next year no worries I’ll do it for a VB. Plus my air fair of course.
  7. I am thinking of going to the finals in March and wonderd if any one else here will be going, or if you have been before what can you warn me about besides 'it will be cold'.

    Ice Racing in Assen 2004

Thanks cheetahawk, I will delay my panic attack for a bit longer, I have just been getting wound up trying to book online and getting no response at http://www.ijsspeedway-assen.nl/ Do you think they have been tipped off, what have I done Anyway it seems you had fun when you went even if it was cold. I’ve only watched it on the box and it has really impressed me and as rusky said: Sad to say I already do, the "It's a knockout" rules aren't helping either. I want to get in a few more meetings in Europe next year as I think the domestic scene is becoming a bit of a joke. If there's good racing I want to be there, Ice, Grass or Shale with apologies to sandman

  12. We stayed at the Anna it was ok just out of the busy part of town. The whole town is so easy to get about as the Metro and trams are so good. Heres some info from last year that was realy helpfull for me: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...opic=259&st=150 ballinger http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/ind...opic=259&st=105 bartosch I think I might go to Prague again although they will have the Euro and that seems to push up the prices, I hope I'm wrong.

    Ice Racing in Assen 2004

Thanks for the replies M.L. & H'S, it looks like I will be going on my tod so at least I know I can look out for the guys in the kilts if I need help filling out my programme. Sorry about that ML I think the bloke driving was in a bit of a hurry to get somewhere. Vanity, thats my middle name undies by Matalan tops by Makro.
  14. See you can't trust these posh gits on the dog & bone, of course it must be Wayahead but fancy them not letting on to Fd that they were the mob flogging the seats. I bet Terry Russell will have a few spare tickets for sale with his double allocation.
  15. The G.P. site just says tickets onsale from 9am 6th November, but it does have a phone number : TICKET OFFICE: Ticket Hotline:0870 122 0022 Overseas Hotline:+44 115 912 9000 Tickets Online: www.speedwaygp.com of course there is no seating plan as yet so we can't see how they have carved it up for pricing, and I will be hard at work until late so I don't want anyone taking the seat I want OK. PS. I have just phoned that number it's a company called 'Warehead', not sure if that is the correct spelling but the guy confirmed they will be selling the G.P. tickets. Two please.

    Wild Angels ?

I remember the group I last saw them play at a pub called the Bull, in Sheen (Richmond area) pity the night got cut short when a few of the England chapter of the Hells Angels started chucking bottles across the small dance floor. I think the Wild Angels went on tour with Chuck Berry once as well. I might even still have a 45 of theirs somewhere. I went to the Lycem and saw Shaking Stevens last gig with the Sunsets (his backing group before he got famous) and Freddie fingers Lee played in a little pub in Kingston it used to be packed I found myself next to Wee Willie Harris one night, now theirs a claim to fame.

    Prague GP

It was Staroperamen mostly in the old town square and was a bit priced up but then they charged you more to drink it outside than indoors. I also tried out the Pilsner Urquell. I think I liked the Budvar the best but apart from Lioness's garage I don't know where I can get my hands on anymore, although there is the Golden Helmet meeting later this month so maybe I need another trip to Czech. (Makro have got Staropramen on special this week I wonder if it will taste as good)

Hi Tigerblade, you should have been there !! We've just got back had a great time and met loads of people from Cov, Eastie & Wimble. met up with born 2b mad he had the right idea travel light, the baggage carosell broke down at Heathrow, nice wait for them to fix it. good to meet up with Joanne. Julie and Ballanger again. It was nice to meet up with my mate Deano again I hope he did ok tonight. I saw Arlington all lit up as we circled around London and the south east waiting to land. Oh yeah the G.P. was good as well proper track and good grading. Some interesting music joices as well anyone know the heavy metal tracks that were played. I'm just thinking ahead to Cardiff next year. I enjoyed the racing at this g.p. it was a shame Mark Scotty and Rico didn't get further but I am not going to knock anyone, it was a good meeting, and Prague is a great place to visit.

Thank you ballinger, what could go wrong now, with a print out of your directions the world is my lobster and all I have to do is turn them upside down on the way back couldn’t be simpler. We are staying at the Anna hotel and I expect we will find it by the third day if all goes well. I looked at a map of the city and pressed the little union flag thingy but it was no good as all the street names are still are still printed in Czech, must have been broken. If anyone else is flying out from Heathrow on Friday look out for me in terminal four. This could be an interesting weekend one way or another.
