    Poole 2017

You know it's bad down in Dorset when they're talking about signing Mitchell Davey to improve their play off chances.... good lord!
  2. Richard Lawson has to be one of the signings of the season, such a shame we didn't have him at the start of the season on this form. Sensational stuff from him and the rest of the team. Just imagine if Hougaard wasn't rusty and wracking up the points. Get on you Rebels! Can't wait to read Starman's words of wisdom... what a beating, what a beating!
  3. Looks like it, as Lawson rides at no.1 for us - and can't see Wright riding at no.5 either.

    Rye House 2017

Lack of meetings is not the problem, as it's not far off being any different to the old Premier League. It's the way the fixtures are scheduled that is the problem!
  5. Bloody hell, we actually have a meeting!
  6. Bristol Bridge Inn is a right dump. Fox and Goose is overpriced I believe. You'd be better off travelling into Burnham itself and go in some of the pubs there.
  7. I wondered that too. I've been banging on about covers for seasons now so it'll be great news if we have them on a permenent basis. Bad news for Sheffield as Howarth (another ex-Rebel too!) flies round our place, along with Josh could of been the favourites. Still not sure if I'm going to attend or not yet with no home team to follow, but looks like a cracking line up.
  8. As has been previously posted also, I'm led to believe Somerset didn't sign the agreement either.

    King's Lynn Stars 2017

August 1st... Chris Holder to get the sack? There is no way I'd have him in my team after the past week.
  10. I find it staggering that some have implied throughout the thread that Holder's actions is almost a plan to return to Poole and abit of bribery involved. When will people learn that he doesn't really give a damn about Poole or British Speedway for that matter? He's only out to look after himself and that's all. I've lost count of the amount of times when a track hasn't been like a snooker table and there's reports then that he's the loudest mouth about wanting to call the meeting off.
  11. Some of us were more than happy to have Lawson at Somerset. Like you say, he's been a revelation too.

    Rye House 2017

Barker will be on a converted average from the Championship, not exactly the same.

    Swindon 2017

I'm led to believe Somerset refused also.
  14. That would explain Tungate's sudden change in average then...

    Poole 2017

I'm not sure on what the figures are for Klindt, but I assume after last night his average has now actually gone up. Great news for Poole but bad news for Nicolai who would of done himself out of a job..... D'oh!!!

    Rye House 2017

I'm the same. I've not watched a single GP this year and not bothering with Cardiff this year either as regardless of atmosphere and occasion, it's not as good as watching my own team ride.
  17. More misinformation and complete nonsense. Only about 10 years behind... 🙄
  18. Nope - I was at Glastonbury so didn't go to the speedway FYI.
  19. As I've posted elsewhere it's becoming pretty obvious the Somerset management realised they couldn't cover Hougaard with RR so signed somebody who would be missing more often than not so then we have a choice of guest. Plus Palm Toft is pretty handy at Poole isn't he who I think we are at fairly shortly? I've also posted elsewhere about squads being implemented in the Premiership too next season. Double uppers should be able to have the option of sharing one team place so when riders like Kerr for example is riding for his championship side, we could of called on whoever his double up partner would be. This is how it used to be years ago and means you can at least continue an association of our squad, even if it means team must then be 6 riders instead of 7 riders at one time, instead of having a bunch of randomers turning up week on week. It still baffles me why guests are allowed instead of RR being used too.

    Belle Vue 2017

Allegedly on a very powerful engine brought over from Poland for that meeting. It all started so well for him this season, beating Doyley in his first race carrying on from being our rider of the season last year but never got anywhere near those heights. Reknowned for his gating, he barely managed to make a decent start all season and really struggled. Such a shame as I'd have him back at Somerset as he has a lot more to offer than he shown us this year as proved last year - no good if his form from early this year continues though.
  21. I couldn't agree with this post more. From the outside looking in the track has looked in the best shape I can remember for many a year. We've been served up some fantastic racing this year, the type of stuff that wouldn't be possible regardless of the calibre of rider on an 'atrocious' track.
  22. Have a look at IDH's brilliant photo album here: http://ihitchcock.zenfolio.com/somerset_v_kings_lynn?fpciidx=51 The last photo is from heat 14 I believe. Can't see any dust clouds there that's for sure! If you also look at the first few you can actually see how heavily watered the track was!
  23. It was always going to come back and bite us on the ass when the averages changed. We would never of been able to carry Rohan on his 9+ average since he was released but at the same time he was always going to be a steal once his average dropped. I had always hoped we would reintroduce him once the new averages came into play, ideally for Heeps now, but looks like that isn't going to happen sadly.
  24. I thought Tungate's average was 5.09 from his 4H 4A so how has he ended up on 4.something??
  25. Dust bowl... give it a rest. There was no dust at all last week and the track had been heavily watered.
