  1. Dust bowl... give it a rest. There was no dust at all last week and the track had been heavily watered.
  2. Exactly that. Hopefully squads are an option so teams can sign two riders to share one position if needed to avoid all of the missing riders and guests at every match - even if that means dropping to 6 man teams.
  3. Me too - I've used Somerset and Glasgow averages and can't work out how he's ended up on 7.80!
  4. Or when he top scored 2 weeks earlier against Belle Vue....
  5. I see Richard Lawson moves to no.1 with the new averages now out. Palm-Toft missing again much to the upset of some Rebels fans on facebook I see. It's pretty obvious now that when the management knew Hougaard was injured, they knew we couldn't go on and use R/R so signed someone who was going to be missing so we had a pick of guests all the time. Smart on one hand but daft at the same time as nobody wants to see a team of guests every week regardless of how good they are. Think Heeps will struggle in the main body of the side.... Tungate still free??? I seen that too, which I thought was interesting. I however don't buy the speedway star so not sure what the gripe is.
  6. Can you not see that that makes it even worse - that it was messed up last season and they've managed to make the same mistakes again this year?
  7. Couldn't disagree more. The referee got a load of stock from fans where I was stood for 'getting it wrong' but he didn't get anything wrong. Lewis Rose had the same amount of time to get to the meeting as everyone else did, regardless of traffic. Everyone else made it in good time and he didn't. Simple. You wouldn't catch Chelsea delaying a football match against United because Wayne Rooney was stuck in traffic 🙄 As it turned out, they bought in the brilliant Kai Huckenbeck and the rest is history....
  8. Moving up a league hasn't got masses to do with it, other than the World Cup week. There is still nearly just as many fixtures in total - however the fixture list seems to have been put together by Starman or something as it is awful right across the board.

I've already answered that in my post that you've quoted. Because he was performing poorly. Nothing to do with averages like you stated in your previous post which is incorrect.

How does it? There was no need to drop Newman because of averages at all. He was dropped because he had been performing poorly.
  11. Excellent write up as usual ER and pretty much spot on the money... except for the Kurtz/Holder incident in my view. The way I saw it was that the correct call was made. Holder got to the bend first before Kurtz went up on the grass, got out of shape and plowed straight through Holder's front wheel. Pretty fair to say though Holder wasn't very happy about it! I thought for the Rebels Lawson was brilliant. Don't think he's had a bad match since signing for us yet. Quite a likeable sort of rider too so brilliant stuff from him. I see there is abit of a debate about Kerr developing and I don't think he's done enough yet. Doesn't look very quick and even when he makes the gate is passed relatively easily. Tungate back for Kerr anyone? 6 points from R/R probably didn't help but both our reserves were pretty poor. Allen was a million miles from the rider who top scored against Belle Vue and Branford was pathetic. Fair play to Kings Lynn who looked a very good side. 3 heat leaders all firing and a reserve scoring at will was always going to be hard to beat. Huckenbeck was even better than the earlier match in the season though.
  12. Rebels to edge it by 4 points.

    Swindon 2017

We've ridden quite a few matches since he left, where he would of been stuck at no.1 and scoring very little. Richard Lawson who replaced him has piled up the points since replacing him.

    Somerset 2017

Strengthens them somewhat - as he has easily been the worst visitor to the OTA so far this season.
  15. Kurtz and Branford in for Palm-Toft and Heeps whilst also operating R/R for Wright. Liam Carr guests at no.7 for Kings Lynn.

    Swindon 2017

You'd have thought he would revert to his previous average, before the multiplier was used.

    Somerset 2017

Will mean 3 guests and R/R. What a joke for a home meeting that is.
  18. There is no doubt crowds have been up at Somerset this season in comparison to the last few years too.
  19. Surely that just proves the theory even more that the riders were wrong - as the meeting continued, be all means far from being a classic but there was still some decent racing. Not just follow the leader.... and best of all 99% of the fans would of gone home happy after seeing a decent meeting and 15 heats of speedway too with next to no delays. Certain riders nowadays will always moan it's too wet, it's too dry, it's too slick, it's too windy, it's too sunny, blah blah blah. Fair play to the ref who got the call spot on.
  20. Contrasting attitudes to that of Allen, Wright, Worrall, Fricke and Lawson who just got on with it and got stuck in. Too many modern day speedway riders want a track like a snooker table and will throw their toys away if it's anything less than perfect.
  21. ....and that was his best effort of the night too! Shows how poor he really was in his previous 3 races.

    Swindon 2017

I'm going to assume because Somerset would be missing Grajczonek and Wright who both ride for 2nd division clubs on a Thursday. It wouldn't be within our interests to go to Swindon missing two riders who rode for the club last season. You can add Cameron Heeps to that list of Thursday tracks in the 2nd tier too.
  23. Perfect summary that. Lemo has always come across as a wet weekend and his comment sums up what's wrong in part with speedway. The referee got a lot wrong last night, but telling the riders to get on with it and pushing the meeting through certainly wasn't one of them! Fair play to him for that.
  24. Use a tear off then.
  25. He might not of been overly happy about the situation, but it didn't take him long to give up. Most other riders (Sedgmen apart) gave it a real go and should be applauded. Steve Worrall for the Aces leaves with the most credit, he was brilliant, really got stuck in and very fast. I really like Craig Cook and always look forward to his visits at the OTA but last one was one to forget for him.
