  1. Not to mention as I have already said, on the face of it it looks like an error leaving Shanes' last ride until heat 14 but it effectively won the match for the Stars - along with the brilliant Craig Cook.
  2. Leaving Shanes in heat 14 was a match winning decision.
  3. Like has already been said, the Kings Lynn manager made a right hash allowing Porsing to have 4 rides as he was beyond terrible. The worst rider on show, just shading that award from Rohan Tungate. It's worth noting that the Lynn manager kept Shanes in heat 14 for a match winning pass on Jake Allen out of nowhere. It's another loss that's hard to understand how we've lost, much like last week against Swindon. Felt like we were always in control but just lost out when it mattered. Congratulations to Kings Lynn but they really weren't that good. Craig Cook was a superb guest and backed up superbly by Lambert. Probably outscored what Holder would of done and full on effort, always a joy to watch is Cookie. Rose solid but not spectacular. Batchelor hot and cold. Huckenbeck seemed to be enjoying himself out on the wide line but Porsing was absolutely dreadful. For Somerset yet again Josh was outstanding, pretty much carrying on from last week but he had little to no back up. Charles done his job as did Graversen who was right in the mix again so fair play to him. However the rest were disappointing. The less said about Tungate the better on tonight's performance. It's an absolute disaster after last season just how he was to see how poor he was tonight. Not only is he riding an absolute lawnmower but he isn't making any starts, on the wrong lines and making so many mistakes. Even if he went to reserve it's hard to imagine him scoring anything. You have to feel he is under even more immense pressure along with Paul Starke to be given the boot right now. We are likely to get a hiding like most teams will at Belle Vue on Monday, but we can't afford another loss next Friday against a really strong Wolves side. The big crowds we've been getting will soon drop off if we do.

    Somerset 2017

The meeting Hougaard has ridden in he has been brilliant for us. I just hope he isn't scheduled to miss a load of meetings because of SEC now. Hoping Tungate scores a shed load tonight. Would the real Rohan Tungate, please stand up.
  5. I'm sure it is - but ensuring your no.1 and former World Champ is riding in just about every fixture has to be an absolute priority. Why on the earth both times Kings Lynn are at Somerset it's been organised when it's a Grand Prix weekend is just mind boggling.
  6. Matej Ferjan did - He rode for both Slovenia and Hungary... and I thought Kylmakorpi represented Sweden in the last few years although could be wrong.
  7. Joonas Kylmakorpi and Metaj Ferjan both switched countries in the World Cup. There was rumours of Emil Sayfutdinov doing the same too. Rory has British citizenship so can't see the issue myself. Sucks that Kyle Newman misses out somehow.
  8. Of course it is - I was thinking he was on a 6.XX but that was before his multiplier in the old Elite League. My mistake.
  9. No, that is wrong - the team would continue to build to 50 points with the relevant multiplier if they haven't ridden enough matches to get their new averages. It seems only individual riders could be reassessed within a team if that team has ridden the required amount of fixtures. I think the Adam Ellis example is a bad one as I've seen it said he only missed cup matches anyway and not any league meetings. Likewise Davey Watt as he has been dropped by Rye House now anyway. A better example is Patrick Hougaard at Somerset who missed last Fridays meeting. I would assume once we have completed 4H and 4A (or whatever the split is at the time) then Hougaard will attain a new average if we redeclare based on 3H and 4A where his average is likely to increase somewhat.

How is that a dig at you? He's made a valid point.

Didn't look injured when blasting around the Oak Tree Arena last night after the meeting!

At no point last season when I watched Rohan was he rubbish. He was only blowing hot for us last season. Unsure how all this average lark is going to pan out but every chance you could drop Rohan on his high average after he's done the required matches but before his new average becomes effective and then reintroduce him on his 4/5 point average for someone else. Just a thought.

He was superb for us last year too throughout the whole year - he was in my opinion the main reason we won the league. Looked a shadow of himself so far though. He was pretty ruthless on track last year at times but has looked very tentivie so far. Hard to disagree with that. The racing last night was out of this world.

You've contradicted yourself. Your post makes no sense at all. You know they won't meet their average but they need to be scoring their average??? Even if Tungate scores 8 he still hasn't met his average! And in 3 rides if Jan scores 4 like last night his average is 5.33.... well over what he started on for god sakes! As I said last night Starke was all over Bellego and Ellis when he fell and packed up when 2nd... IF he scored an extra 4 points his score of 5 doesn't look so bad then, we'd of won and everybody would of been happy. If only my auntie had balls she'd be my uncle though! There's being ruthless and then there is being stupid!

I have no idea to be quite honest. Bjarne Pedersen maybe? An old favourite of Garry May but I'd have no idea what his average is and going on previous years I think his best is probably behind him. Other than that I'm really not sure especially now the Polish leagues are throwing their weight around blocking certain riders and calling the shots with their own Poles too. I think Chris Holder is due to be missing for Kings Lynn next week which is a massive shame, but it's a big chance for Rohan to turn his season round although the stars still look good at the top end with Lambert and Batchelor to contend with. I agree - however the biggest problem for Rohan is that his average is currently 9+ and looking like it will drop to 4+... a massive difference especially as the options to strengthen up once the averages change will be even less limited. Rosco was interviewed and gave the impression it was nothing to do with him. However I'm not entirely sure I believe that - but at the same time the rule book says only RR in my eyes so that's what we had to stick to. BSPA made a phone call just after 2 o'clock apparently.

Barely any riders will meet their average because so many riders started the season on false averages. Everybody's starting points limit was 50.00 whereas the average will be about 42.00. Jason Doyle for example started on 13.00+ and can only ever achieve a maximum of 12.00 if he wins every race At the moment I think only Hougaard's average is due to go up, maybe Jake Allen too. When we won the old premier league last year our total averages was only 47.00 so again, averages were bound to go down!

Heat 9 and heat 13 absolutely superb. I think I'd go as far as saying that's the best I've ever seen Josh ride. A massive pity he ended up on the losing side.

I disagree. Jan is near enough doing his job. It's likely he will only ever get 3 rides a meeting because we have Jake as our main reserve. Jan won heat 2 comfortably and is never too far out of the mix. I don't think we can ask for too much more from him. Paul Starke is having abit of a tough time of it for us but he is always there or there abouts so I'm sure it's a matter of times before he starts banging in the decent scores for us. He was unfortunate tonight as he laid the bike down to avoid what looked like a falling Bellego, only for him to somehow stay on the bike. He also packed up when a clear 2nd, so just all things that impacted on his score as he was all over Bellego and Ellis when he laid the bike down. Tungate however, is in massive danger. 6 from 5 rides and apart from one ride never really looking upto much. I've become a massive fan of Rohan after last season and I raved about him being our rider of the season. However he isn't cutting the mustard at the moment and his average is due to drop massively. I would expect him to be given one more home match next week against Kings Lynn and if things don't improve then he will be shown the door before his average drops and we lose out massively. On a side note, take a bow Josh Grajczonek. Absolutely stunning performance tonight. Incredible races passing Morris from behind twice and Doyle from the back too. His last to first nearly as good as heat 13. Take a bow.

The only thing I can presume is that Kurtz was booked as a guest if Starke was going to be missing. Seen as he rode last night for P'boro it looks like it should be R/R for Hougaard tonight which makes Swindon favourites in my eyes. He has been superb in all 5 of our matches so far.

    Rye House 2017

I would tend to agree you're right - but another poorly written rule about "re-arranged" matches as technically none of the Rye meetings have been rearranged, they are now additional meetings to Ricky Wells' calendar. So yes I think you're right, but something that could be so simple gets made so complicated by inept wording in the rule book.
  22. Najjer

    Somerset V Swindon 21/4/17

Has to be on official averages, which Tungate is still by far the no.1 on that count. I haven't looked at the rules myself but from the ones Grachan has quoted seems like abit of a boo-boo! The wording is so poorly written again though, why even include the "if permitted" part at the end of the ruling.

    Swindon 2017

That's how it should be - a team 3 points over the 'average' total shouldn't be able to make changes unless it's like for like anyway.

Garrity had to remain in heat 13 to complete his 3 rides. He had already been taken out of heat 1 after hitting the tapes. However, I agree with you - Middlo isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

We were told by some foolish posters on Friday that once a facility had been granted it couldn't be changed. However, that has proved to be utter rubbish as suggested by a large number of people on Friday. Either that or Poole are making their own rules again and declaring Kerr to ride now
