Arlington is a lovely little stadium with decent facilities too.Crowd levels which is a real concern.

Just pointing out the concerns that sports will run into next year, I would think thats relevant to any speedway club

Indeed and that info came from both Eric and Paul.

With regards to Banger / Stocks - they pay to race and therefore some venues that shares Stocks and Speedway can have 100 drivers paying to race and 3-4 times the crowds at similar entrance fees watching.
I can tell you for a fact that stocks/bangers are starting to struggle big time at Arlington Eastbourne, so its not just speedway thats getting hit at the moment..

To be fair, its a really nice tractor that..

He then seemed to find a whole new lease of life and best form in ages at Eastbourne in 2019 when he replaced Brennan and where he said he was enjoying racing again and again in 2021 before they closed.
He struggled with fitness at Oxford it seems in a difficult No 2 role and seemed rusty race fitness wise when I saw him earlier in the season.
If he can have a spell at reserve at Redcar and get the enjoyment back he could be a massive weapon for them.
As for Bickley, flash websites and social media and stickers on your van doesn't mean anything on the Track. He's been passed and left behind now by 3-4 years worth of newcomers.
Never going to be better than a good NDL Heat Leader, a big fish in a little pond.
He also started this season on Godden engines which he couldnt get off the statrt with and picked up the shoulder injury in his second meeting I think.
his form did pick up when he switched back to GM's but the injury was too much and he needed a break from racing, good to see him back on a track he goes well at.

Can you see Bewley wanting to ride in that?

Speedway is clearly an expensive sport to administer.
And somehow that needs to filter down to the riders who, rumour has it said, bleed the promoters almost dry.
Common sense needs to prevail for the long term future of what I believe is a fantastic sport.
Perfect words singy13 and I'm right behind you with your thoughts as I'm sure speedway fans in general will be.
We need to build the sport if it's going to continue in this country but I fear a major step backwards will need to happen before any building blocks can be put in place for its future.

I will have everything that's possible crossed in hope that the Worky Comets manage to overcome the costs and fly around the Northside arena....................but who's gonna be left to provide opposition?
I do apologise, I didn't wish to come over as being superior to anybody.
I wish the best of luck to Workington and any new club trying to get the sport back.on track

It would be somewhat crass to put actual figures on a public forum but trust me, the BSPL costs alone are not exactly welcoming for a new promotion at either level..
