    New Teams For Nl

Interesting and unusually positive post! Where does the Crewe revival come from?Is there substance to this or just wishful thinking? Would love to see that happen on any level! With Bournemouth and Plymouth set to not be in the third tier for very different reasons, and prospective buyers for Mildenhall and Weymouth both understandably cautious about commiting to buying, (Being unsure of how the league will look and if there will be enough teams to make it viable), most people are being pessimisitc about the third tier right now! Hope you are right though, British Speedway needs a healthy 3rd tier, so hopefully your ideas about track sharing for former successful teams will catch on. Obviously Bristol have been looking for a home and run teams of late, as have Halifax(But as you say no open tracks that near to them). There is also some hope re Oxford again at present, though who knows what league any promoter would want to enter. Leicester being so central and having unlimited access to the track does offer a real hope for a track share. Just a shame that some huge areas have no tracks whatsoever to share around(London, Liverpool,Yorkshire come to mind)

    London Riders Championship

The best bit was the West Ham tractor!!
  4. Sadly i can't make any of those, let's hope he does well and gets a team place for next year. Not done badly for seeing Danish youngsters this year though have i. If i miss him i will just have to come to Holsted to see him next year!
  5. Is he just over for that meeting Thomas or is he gonna stick around to try and ride elsewhere?

    NL Treated with Contempt

So has it been confirmed that it was 'postponed' because the track couldn't cope with meetings on 2 consecutive days? Seems odd that it couldn't cope, what with the dry weather forecast? It was always 50/50 that they'd have a semi final to fit in. If they lose that i bet they will bring the Ace of Herts forward to the 24th and finish the season early, which would be an extra kick in the teeth if these important meetings never take place!

    NL Treated with Contempt

I've just got in an read about this, what a joke! So they cancel it for S aturday 'cos of the Young Shield, even though Rye i thought could run whenever they liked and had intended to run Sunday afternoons, then the Newport fixture is switched to Sunday anyway???So whats the real reason for the cancellation, i'm very confused? Is it still taking place? Like lots of other fans i'd made plans based around this event happening on Saturday! It better be a bloody good reason for such a short notice call off of an important meeting like this!!
  8. Don't suppose they will announce the line up until it's too late to get a reasonable priced train ticket? Mind you 3 trips to Lynn already this year, enough for anyone, they will have to pull some very unlikely names out of the hat to get me along(C'mon Buster get Tommy Stange back over!!). Probably be just the usual Aussies.

Czestochowa V Gdansk Sunday 10th October

Missed this 'last' Polish fest as i was at Rye House. Is there no chance that the second leg of the finely poised Rybnik v Lublin be televised? Or is third tier ignored by tv over there too? I know i'm probably dreaming, lets hope some of the Aussie title meetings makeit onto the net over the winter!!

    London Riders Championship

Damn right fella, what with Mikey Buman, John Marquez, Robbie Sauer and Bryce Starks in the US team, that makes 6 new riders to be crossed off and added onto other lists for me in one single meeting, and on my doorstep, just gone all the way there and back to Newport on the train to see Davies and Strozyk, next Friday will be a slightly autisitc speedway fans dream!!!
  11. Yeah what would we do without them. Wish one of our Polish friends did similar threads in the close season there, save me spending half my life on google translate for 'sportowefakty.com'!!Thanks again!
  12. No streams for Golden Helmet then?
  13. Fair play to Darcy, can't say he's one of my favourite riders 'cos he comes acrosss as very immature on his Sky interviews, but hay he is young and no one can argue that he can't ride a bike and showed bottle to win it today. What a shame that these meetings are never televised, surely they would get a good audience, and maybe the Brits would bother again if Sky cameras were there? What is strange is that Ward has struggled so badly in Poland, so much so that Torun are loaning him out in 2011 and keeping Jensen instead, possibly even dropping out of the top league and going to Bydgoszcz? Perhaps he needs a different club there to ride to his potential?

    Italian Grand Prix

Weather updates would be appreciated, as if it's postponed i will head to sunny Hoddesdon instead.
  16. If 'Google Translate' is working properly, Sportowefakty says it isn't being broadcast today and Tarnow are happy as the rain always follows the cameras there!

    Rye House V Plymouth

I would really like some live speedway, but since i'm still full of cold, its freezing and i could stay in and watch Gollob, i will only come if there is a rain delay announced from Italy before 5pm!

    Danish Junior Championship

Well after a few hours kip, here's my rundown for what its worth; First of all a big thank you to danish webmaster and his wife for picking me up from the airport and taking me to the track. Got there about 11.30 before they offically opened so had plenty of time to mingle with the riders and say hi to legend Erik Gundersen, which made my day. They over watered the track, with new bowsers, so the 2pm start time didn't materialise, so much coffee was needed to keep me going(2 hours kip the night before). Got started at around 2.40pm and immediately Hougaard and Jepsen Jensen showed their class by winning the first 2 heats by miles. in heat 3 Patrick Noergaard made a flyer but lost control on the 4th bend and had a really bad smash which ruled him out of the rest of the meeting, hope he's ok. When Rene Bach won heat 4 easily, the pattern was set, and he Jensen and Hougaard won all their riders from there on in, to take 12 point maximums into the Heat 20 showdown(How come the big guns all ended up in the last heat together??).As i said last night, i think, Bach overtook Jensen on lap 2 to win, Hougaard got pushed wide and never recovered. For me the real interest was in the riders i hadn't seen before, and of those the stand out for me was 5th place Mikkel B Jensen, only 16 last month, who's 10 points came with real style, showing a great style and good decision making, a superstar in the near future surely! 4th on 11th place was Simon Nielsen, who also fought well and mixed it with the big boys, would clearly do a good job in the PL.Others who showed glimpses of class were home 16 year old Mikkel Michelsen, and Team Viking bound Jonas B Andersen. Shame i didn't see Noergaard more, dissapointing days for Bjerregaard and Jakobsen, and little Lasse got a solid 10 points. Future sure looks good for Danish speedway, even more to come after the Rye House winning brigade age. Got a lift back into Copenhagen from ex Wolves rider, and now Slangerup team manager, Lars Munkedal, with Jan Steachmann as a fellow passenger, so had a good chat about Danish youngsters etc and i will now be cheering Slangerup on Wednesday in their crunch title decider, needing a win to clinch the title, good luck. Got back to the airport 3 hours before my flight was due, but this turned into a 5 hour wait due to Easy Jet delays, not a great way to end the day but what had gone before made it all worthwhile and the kindness and friendliness of those i met was wonderfull. No more foreign meetings for me now this year, was due to go to Lodz on Sunday but have cancelled due to the high cost of divorce!!

    The Next Viking Invasion

One week without a reply now folks? Is it still happening? I could possibly have made it to Plymouth if i'd known the 'nearer' to London date wasn't going ahead, but impossible now. I'm sure your busy with finding riders, working around tracks ever changing play off dates etc but i'd really appreciate some news soon!
  24. Damn, really wanted Wroclaw to win!!
