World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
SPEEDY69 replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The primary concern for the organisers is making sure the events go ahead - it's a commercial enterprise. I'm not surprised the track has been very hard and slick, it would cost a lot of money to rearrange. Even though it was a very slick I did enjoy it because it was unpredictable at times and we got to see some new faces mixng it up. I wonder if Aus will give Chris Holder a ride or two on Friday, couldn't be worse than Fricke surely? As for the scores display, I thought it was good to see both the team scores in the bottom right and the individual rider scores, something i'd be looking at had I had a programme. -

Thomsen shows that even when there's contact, the rider can stay on and doesn't have to fall deliberately, credit to him. -

If possible, the crowd looks even smaller than last night! These tracks in Poland are awful, gate and go, little that skillful riders can do. -

Controversial, but I quite like drone cam. No sweat for GB tonight, Wright should have been in the squad but out of the others, has to be Worrall, with Brennan ready to replace if necessary. Slickfest like that and Poland should gate to victory. -

Ellis moving there but got away with it. -
What did you expect? His average is his average, it's the losses against second strings in close matches at home which people notice. Wins against Peterborough don't really count
-
Still loved by the Poole massive though Ipswich's problems this year have been no consistent support for the top two. Hume & King far too inconsistent, Riss not contributed at all and Joe T kept in the side for far too long.
-
Yes, a bit like Steve Worrall at Wolves.
-
But the reality is different. He loses to riders he shouldn't be losing to, especially at home and it always appears to be in those meetings where a few points more would secure a victory rather than a loss - no good getting a 15pt maximum if they win by 30 points only to score 4 the next week when they lose by 2. It's not an averages thing at all but a consistency thing.

Think it's his family - can only stay here for a certain length of time as tourists. -
I still cant see why, other than his face doesn't fit, as to why brennan is picked ahead of wright to represent GB
-
Nothing to do with his equipment, just getting beat.
-
British speedway is not as easy as some would have us believe. Track and conditions vary a lot.
-
Woffinden, no thanks. Chris Holder, maybe.
-
Cool, thanks.
-
So, we had one person say Hans had been dropped, or left, a correction from his 'manager' then a freak injury rules him out. Hmmm.
-
Riss should be nowhere near the premiership next season.
