  1. This should be a comfortable Belle Vue win. I am not a fan of either team so I'm not playing any "we're the underdogs/NO we're the underdogs" game. They have the capability at home, without Fricke, to win easily. Masters has been poor recently but that's the only possible light for Wolves - if he produces good points they could progress but on the balance of probabilities I side with BV.
  2. No, you're not the only one, I posted as much earlier on the BV vs Wolves thread.
  3. Belle Vue have a great chance but all the pressure will be on them. If Masters can buck up then Wolves still have a chance. Lindgren needs to max really. Regarding the Tungate/Thorsell crash, Tungate was a bit hairy in other rides but in this one he didn't have a lot of choice in my view as JT was locking up to exit the corner.
  4. I enjoyed watching the play offs last night. I disagree completely with people blaming the tracks - sorts the skilled riders out from the rest.

In My View By Phil Rising

I'll reserve judgement - fixed race nights don't really appeal to me. When will all the rearranged meetings take place? And fixture clashes are not just those in the UK of course. I find it difficult to get to meetings on those nights due to work and other commitments, given the travel time. I may well just become an armchair supporter - still, if it keeps Jason Doyle in Champagne then it has to be good right?

In My View By Phil Rising

I agree with others, the two plumbers I know earn in excess of 80k a year. Your point about the average wage is one to highlight though and in fact it's worse because that's the average wage and not what the average person may earn. Not for your benefit because I know you know these things but e.g. If 3 people earn 100k and 17 people 13k then the average wage is 26k but the reality is most are on a lot less. I've said it before, as have others but whilst there are some riders who seem to be able to continue riding at lower levels with equipment and vans similar to what the top stars use then I agree with the premise that they are 'overpaid', given the paltry income of many clubs.
  7. Why would he refuse? Should have won this a few years ago and each meeting is different.
  8. As predicted Poole got what they needed from Somerset. What with the gifted 4 points at Lynn and then facing them again with Lambert and Huck injured they have made the most of their chances and deserve 4th place and twoextra meetings. The TR does its stuff again

    Jason Doyle

Agree. What makes people think the so called big names (many of whom won't ride like that over here) will ride here just because there's only two nights? And how much money will they want? What about the riders who depend on the high number of meetings and only ride in Britain. Or are we advocating some sort of super league and others will be force into the championship? 7 home meetings, no interest from me, or the stadium landlords. I say bye bye Jason.

    Winners & Play Offs

Swindon will choose Poole (strong favourites for 4th) in the semi's, no doubt in my mind.

    Rye House 2017

I think it's highly likely they will get what's required at Somerset. Last time they only lost by 4 and that was without a number 1 (well, they had Garrity who scored zero). Poole's to lose.

Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.

I'm no Wolves fan, so don't class me as one of them The 'racing' at Torun I've seen recently, including the GP, was dull, in my view.

Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.

    Wolves every time.
  14. I agree, but let's not forget the unjustified cancellations where KL & RH are concerned.
  15. Given the made up call off of the Rye fixture, maybe Lynn are ceding the 4 points to Rye . None of this effing about is any good for the fans who want to book time off work and/or make travel plans. Ridiculous.
  16. The most recent times I've seen Artem, it looks like he'd struggle to pass water. Seems he may be a first or last kind of rider, depending on his starts. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong, for the fans' sake. I also don't think Iversen or Holder deserve a wildcard either but they will have the Danish Champion and the Monster man no doubt.
  17. Ah yes, that was it. Think I might still have it on vhs as well, perhaps I'll take a look.

    Pick A Dane

They wanted Nicholls in the series the first year but BSPA said they'd ban him if he took part (even without missing UK fixtures), so couldn't. The catalyst for him withdrawing from World Cup.
  19. I remember Reading doing a double header at Wolves back in the early 90s, think it was cup and league. It was a good night of racing and each match was different in terms of the entertainment. I enjoyed it.
  20. Another snorefest from Poland, turning off now.

    Coventry 2017

Think they'd be rivals with Leicester for the spoon.
  22. Disagree, Fricke only scored 5 last time and I expect RR to get more than that, plus the Aces have Bjerre this time. KK is too unpredictable - could be hero or zero. It could be an even bigger BV win
  23. It is, but it doesn't apply to the self-employed. What they have to adhere to is the contract they sign at the start of the season and it will allow for compassionate 'time-off'. I agree, no comparison with Holder and Rathbone has clearly broken the rules by letting him ride in PL rather than at league meetings in the UK.
