  1. No I don't but getting someone in with a higher average is cheating in my view. Same as Glasgow with Tarasenko (yes I know he 'signed' before his average went up but there were no meetings until after it had).
  2. I think the BSPL would rather it was GP rider 'in the interests of speedway' of course. Doyle is still on the start list for the Czech Golden Helmet on Sunday, wonder if he's still planning to ride in that?
  3. SPEEDY69

    Glasgow 2023

The two are not necessarily linked - Sheffield have been allowed to have 'whoever they damn well like' for the playoffs
  4. Maybe they should just divvy out the top 14 riders at the end of the season for the play off final and let the managers pick them out one by one for their side - "all against the wall" (if anyone remembers or used to say that)
  5. Why do the BSPL want Sheffield to win? Clear rule bending yet again.
  6. He was also on the pace and would have had another if he hadn't made a mistake and fallen.
  7. Have you asked him? I'm afraid it's much more likely to be mentality and capability related than anything to do with equipment. Kurtz was poor in some of his rides last night but won two near the end when he'd got his head around it, as he explained in his interview.
  8. One of his bogie tracks for sure, it's not a billiards table throttle fest.
  9. As kurtz said in a good interview at the end, it needed to be mentally attacked, indicating nothing to do with the bikes.
  10. I don't buy that at all, he'll be wanting to win all the races he's in. No reason for his machinery to be sub-standard with all the money he's making and why would you want to lose races. He's just being beaten. The UK is not as easy as some think.
  11. Well, my prediction was way out. Biggest hero of the night for me was Jack Smith. Don't think he's ridden much at Foxhall before but got stuck in and wasn't nt afraid of the outside - when Bailey steamed under him he held it together around the outside to stay in front. Yet again poor team riding from king to lose the 5-1 in heat 3. Think this is not over and the Aces can easily pull that deficit back.
  12. Ipswich have tweeted this morning with the race day preview & BSPL followed up advertising it.
  13. I'm right by Ipswich hospital. Our guttering overflows if there is heavy rain and it didn't last night. On my short drive at 6.30 this morning the roads were drying. There really should be no problems with the meeting today, it's still quite warm - or is that a rodent I can whiff? Forecast now show possible 1mm of rain this afternoon, which is really not a lot.
  14. Dry day apart from a chance of very light rain so should be fine. We didn't get much rain last night and all drying up now.
  15. Yep, my mistake, I misread the tweet Ipswich almost always play with a straight bat though so I'm expecting it to be on tomorrow.
  16. That was the afternoon the day before though tomorrow it may be like that in the morning. Only just started raining.
  17. And always equally as likely to score poorly, as he has for Peterborough in their last couple of matches. Let's hope it's the former.
  18. No! But it will make a big victory all the sweeter
  19. Oh dear, Harris doesn't have a great record at Foxhall and would have preferred RR.
  20. There was plenty of 'proper racing' in the British Final this year, despite the track being more difficult to ride than usual. Sadly, the sport has been in decline since the early 80s and increasing its popularity is all about marketing and the total offer, the actual racing has little lasting impact in my view - F1 is so dull from a racing perspective but maintains a large following.
  21. Meetings are called off too easily in the earlier parts of the season with seemingly 'plenty of time' to fit them in. I like a meeting on an iffy track, always proves interesting, definitely upping the skill level required.
  22. Depends on your forecast, mine shows only 0.2/0.3mm of rain for the rest of today, that's very little.
