If people want Peterborough speedway to survive then the only place to be is at the protest not the speedway show.

A high turn out with plenty of noise is vital, a poor turn out & that plays right into the developers hands.

    Good luck to all involved

I agree but when you say people, there are many people who want it to survive but who aren't based near Peterborough but who might be going to the show - it's not that far away so was simply flagging, as there could have been/could still be some linkage to maximise impact for the benefit of Peterborough.

  2. People are really quick to throw stones these days. Unless you were there then you don't know what mitigations were presented. I've had friends have their drinks spiked, it does happen. All we can do is respect the verdict and move on.

I have never used any of these substances but do know that cocaine usage in the UK is increasing all the time as we cannot police our borders due to under resourcing. Cannabis use is rocketing and many of these people will drive whilst under the effects but if caught it's just a slapped wrist but they endanger many lives.

I remember before the Latvian GP Darcy Ward was out of his face on booze the night before but turned up to ride, think he may have got a ban, as well as other reported misdemeanours but he's well liked these days. The Morans similar.

    Lessons to be learnt.

Not sure why Dan would ride in the Championship, and Sunday afternoons will be a no-go too.

Will it have to be Sunday afternoon?  I'd read on here that they'd bought the track lights from Peterborough - maybe they're planning stock cars or something then because you don't need lights in the afternoon.

  4. I don't think Pedersen's reputation is totally justified, others have pulled many similar moves it's just he was so high profile and Nicki bashing 'caught on'.  Hans A was very hard with riding others to the fence or dive bombing (one time at Reading I recall he did it about three times, causing another to fall or seriously get in trouble), as was Gollob - remember Boycie's golden moment?  The fact we're still talking about them shows how they're missed in my view.  Oh and yes, Nicki's a lovely fella to talk to.

There is no conjecture. I have explained the situation, as a Peterborough Club Promoter at the time, you will not get anything more definitive.

Thanks, that's great.  As an outsider it would be great to know things like what are the criteria for acceptance into the BSPL club as it seems to be something which can be granted or not dependent upon your face fitting, including the granting or cessation of licences.

Because they wanted to sell the club. They’re perfectly entitled to sell it even if it’s profitable….sure they had their own personal reasons for not wanting to continue at the time.

No problem with that, so if Buster hadn't bought it we only have conjecture as to whether they would have continued.

Absolutely not. Peterborough Speedway would have raced on in the Championship in 2019 under Ged’s ownership if the sale of the Club to Keith Chapman hadn’t gone through. The Club was well run, profitable and successful and in no danger whatever.

If that were the case, then why did the sale go ahead? Surely the owners could choose not to sell if they wanted?

  8. I think it was Chapman who stepped in to save Peterborough a few years ago wasn't it?  Can't see why he'd want to dig his heels in no matter what was offered to him, he was prepared to sell before but had no written offers - ' put your money where your mouth is' comes to mind.  I agree though that this season it hasn't looked like he's been trying to extend or move elsewhere but I'm only on the very outskirts of this and have no knowledge of what's actually been going on.  Offer a fair price and that should result in a sale (future value increase clause included or not).

If the limit stays the same and Brum come up, I see it playing out something like this - based on the Ellis to Belle Vue rumours

    Belle Vue       Brum       Kings Lynn
    1 Kurtz 8.51   1 Harris 6.53   1 Iversen 6.64
    2 Ellis 5.71   2 Lawson 6.57   2 Tarasenko 6.94
    3 Blodorn 5.83   3 Douglas 7.14   3 Basso 6.25
    4 Rew 4   4 Brennan 6.02   4 Klindt 6.89
    5 Bewley 8.21   5 Pickering 6.78   5 Magic/Lambert 8
    6       6 Schlien 5.89   6 Lambert 4.78
    7 RS - Bailey 0   7 RS - Pearson     7 RS Rowe
      40 32.26       38.93       39.5
        7.74     40 1.07     40 0.5

    Ipswich       Sheff       Leis
    1 Doyle 9.12   1 Holder 8.91   1 Fricke 8.98
    2 Masters 7.13   2 Tobi 8.69   2 sedgy 5.07
    3 King 7.23   3 Holder 7.16   3 b Cook 6
    4 Riss 4.84   4 Howarth 5.55   4 Kerr 5.45
    5 Henriksson/etc 5   5 Z Cook 5.1   5 Worrall 5.41
    6 Wright 6.31   6       6
7 RS -Thompson     7 RS Gilkes     7  RS - Kemp
        39.63       35.41       30.91
      40 0.37     40 4.59     40 9.09

I'd love to see Emil back but something tells me he wont be, Ipswich won't build a team without King and there's no way they don't have Riss after sticking by him. I do think Rew will end up at Belle Vue to replace Lidsey

*preparing for pelters but they are just some breakfast time musings and sums

I think if they include him next season they need their bumps felt.  Woffinden will be somewhere as well, probably Sheffield.
