    Brandon Update

The company is actually Nationwide Windows & Doors of Rugby - but as with several sections of the presentation, factual accuracy was not its strongest point.
  2. Just to clarify this, the policy regarding how postponed fixtures are displayed hasn't changed for many years, although the presentation is slightly different this year since the new website came online prior to the start of the season. I took over responsibility for BSP website editorial a number of years ago now, and one of the things I was keen to bring in was that we would show a separate news item previewing (and subsequently reviewing) every fixture individually. (You may remember that in the very old days, the updates tended to be 2 brief news items per day, and the reason for that was the content was tailored to fit in with the space requirements of Ceefax/Teletext). It's always been the case that if a meeting is postponed, the news item is removed and there's then a separate section on that front page where the fixture is marked as POSTPONED, along with any other relevant info, which would typically be the re-arranged date if available. As mentioned above, it looks slightly different now to the past when it was simply a text box showing results, but that information is still on the front page when a meeting is postponed. The news item previewing the meeting is obviously removed, as to leave it there would cause confusion, and personally I wouldn't want to see separate news items reporting meetings being postponed, especially in a week like this! Individual clubs, of course, would be putting postponement news items on their own websites, but on the BSP site it is reported on the front page down the fixtures/results section on the side, which has always been the case. We've worked over the years to add a huge amount of information to the BSP site - items such as official meeting scorecards, Green Sheets, match-by-match averages, pics from the previous night's meetings rather than standard press day shots, to name a few, but we're always open to suggestions on ways in which it can be improved. We'll look all aspects of output over the winter and happy to receive e-mails to the press office with any feasible suggestions for what you'd like to see in the future.

    Brandon Update

After seeing this letter we arranged an urgent meeting with Dave Busst, which took place last Monday. He has since clarified his comments to the planning officer. The position remains that the football club do not support the application.

    Rest of the GP series

You didn’t enjoy the Pairs? I’d never have guessed!

Belle Vue v Poole Monday 1/7/19 BT Sports

Because the press office hadn’t been informed of the change.
  6. The meeting was previewed by the BSPA press office this morning but was taken off the website following the postponement. We had received press releases from both clubs. Glasgow had declared Anders Rowe guesting at reserve; Scunthorpe had Cameron Heeps for Jake Allen, and Jack Smith at reserve.

    Speedway Star in the winter

But it does clearly state why the match was abandoned, at the bottom of page 11.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

Sorry Simon but you aren’t having a debate with any of my “cohorts” here.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

No, I’m not remotely important in the grand scheme of things. And I’d rather be deluded than many of the characteristics exhibited by the postings under both your current and former aliases.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

Thanks for that, Simon. Incidentally I’ve been at all but two of the “home” meetings this season. Happy to discuss things personally with you any time. You’ll find me around plenty of tracks.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

Again this is totally untrue. The Campain Group have no moles on the Forum. We are happy to post under our own names. Unlike yourself.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

Simply untrue. Very happy to meet you in person and explain it, but of course that would mean you revealing your identity.

SBP best pairs 2018 live on Eurosport

You’ll be pleased to know that eKantor is an affiliated company... check their website to find out more! Seriously, great effort by everyone there to get the track fit, and to run successfully to such a tight schedule.

Awaiting confirmation at this stage regarding live coverage Rob - we will still be out at the track, having rescheduled flights back for Monday.

    Coventry Bees Nl ?

The campaign group has no allegiance to anyone, and any evidence of “all the trouble the group has caused” would be welcomed. If I in any way felt that what was being done was not being done in a professional or respectful way I wouldn’t be putting my name to it as one of those involved - especially as I am quite openly involved in various ways across the sport. You’re welcome to come to a campaign group meeting, you might learn something - but I guess then we might also learn your identity, which presumably you don’t want to happen.

    Coventry V Lakeside 26th August

I wrote the preview, the word "unavoidable" used in conjunction with the fact that SEC meetings took place on the same day as Coventry's away matches at Lakeside and Leicester hence he could not be in two places at once. Whereas KK skipped practice on two occasions in order to ride in Friday night home meetings. Naturally I'm an SEC fan, it may not be the GP but I'm sure it's well worth winning.

The 2016 Speedway Best Pairs Cup

MANY apologies for that. Actually saw the very end of the pit scene but from my own view it wasn't 100 per cent clear that it was the end of a disagreement, in which case it wasn't right to talk about possible discontent. Sadly with a TV screen not ideally positioned and several other things to monitor at the same time, it's impossible to get every detail. General consensus afterwards was that NKI should have ridden - and I stated I would have done that - but essentially the decision was justified until Vaculik's engine failure. Hope everyone enjoyed the meeting. The semi was as good a Pairs race as you'll get.
  18. Which is because the referee on the 9th July inadvertently used the wrong averages, whilst the referee on the 2nd July used the correct ones, even if the incorrect ones had been printed in the programme. The scorecards on the BSPA website are posted by the BSPA Press Office exactly as they are submitted by the SCB Referee for each meeting.
  19. The BSPA didn't change anything. The BSPA Press Office posted the official scorecard compiled by the SCB Referee at the meeting onto the BSPA website.

    Birmingham 2014

Sorry but that (post 329) is factually incorrect. Birmingham are not, and never have been, forced to use AP Media. Nobody is forced to use anyone, although naturally questions are asked if one particular website puts the entire BSPA network, whose server administrator is not AP Media, at risk - especially if other clubs raise concerns over the issue. I have a professional working relationship with Andy Povey - can't speak for the others you've quoted but the best way to work in this game is professionalism first, pals second. Even better if you can achieve both together!
