Gb Selection For Play Off And Final
Unibabe replied to BOWESIE's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Keep the team the same, ok steady may not be the best round reading but get a bit of dirt on the track and you never know. Rememeber he is riding for his country so he may do better. Whoever rides, get behind them, whether you like them or not. Come On TEAM GB! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree entirely... this goes for all the riders, I imagine when racing for your country you have much more passion and dedication and hopefully more fans behind you to support and encourage you! -
May we also send our thoughts out to his team mate who I would assume is also very shaken by this incident. Best wishes to you both.

When Simon Stead, David Howe, Oliver Allen etc rode in that league I remember it been called the Amateur league! I know what everyone means about the league names being confusing as whenever you speak to someone not involved with speedway they seem to find it very strange that the premier league is not the top league. Thats just given me an idea..... call them the top, middle and bottom leagues!

Are We Good Enough

I will probabily take some stick for saying this but i think middlo is useless. He has no interest in up and coming riders and lends no support to them. He should take a few hints from Peter Oakes, he is a man who cares about the future of british speedway and who has an eye for talent eg David Howe Simon Stead Chris Harris Olly Allen etc -

Even if they were just to have a couple of days a month where as many as possible could get together and do some training, even if it was just reflex enhancing skills then that would boost their confidence at the gates. Just little things could make such a mental difference. Group moral also needs to get sorted -

I agree with the idea of sports psychologists and more 'group work' in the sense that the top british riders and the up and coming riders even from conference level with potential having practice sessions where they can all support and advise each other. We need to support up and coming riders as much as those who are already there as we need to look after the future as well as the here and now otherwise the problem of the lack of british riders in the gp will continue! -
Has nobody thought how little money would matter if you had just been crowned Speedway World Champion. It is what almost every rider aspires to be and i am sure the feeling is priceless. Like the mastercard adverts, Hotel bills £200 travel expenses £350 being world champion priceless!
