Cardiff Grid Girl auditions are under way: check these out ! -
Most people agree that the GP series this year has been rubbish. The world Cup however seems to get better and better. When the riders are representing their respective countries it has to be said they have been fantastic. Maybe, and i am just throwing this out there, but maybe Sky and the FIM should look at setting up a league of Nations. Teams of 4 representing their country say once a month throughout the season and each team having a nominated home track. Maybe have two pools, seed the teams and split the best ones over the two leagues and mix in the lesser nations. Time it so after the GP series has finished, the top two from each league meet in the final. I know some will say it would just be another world cup, but who cares if we see speedway like that once a month ! One important thing though, do not let Ole Olsen dictate track curation ! Interesting to know what others think.

League Of Nations

Could call it world series but that would usa against usa against usa How about the NATO Champions Cup? lol Oil sponsored by Iraq ! -
Just wondered what peoples thoughts are on banning the sale of Alcohol at the Stadium? Each year there seems to be more and more trouble and yesterday there was a big ruck on the top tier with stewards wading in and trying to stop iot and eject some. it carried on throughout the meeting. Now i like a drink and i know this will set off a few people whinging but is it right that others have to put up with this? From where i sat there were a few drunken groups trying to wind up other drunken groups and at one point the kids who were around me were getting pretty scared. I agree with the old adage of why should the rest of us suffer because of the few, but i have been through it at footballl and it really isnt an issue these days, everybody knows the rules and thats that. lets be honest, there is enought time for a drink in Cardiff pre meeting,

League Of Nations

yep, im guessing they would have poole or somewhere like that. Maybe the BSPA could run the series and allocated the teams a British Track, that would help them all out with a few quid. -

Yes, i was thinking more along the lines of the 4TT formula to hopefully include and encourage the smaller speedway nations. We have 8 to start with, from the World Cup, and surely even the USA could get a team up? Even it they use youngsters, it could be invaluable experience. Then you have the likes of Italy, Germany, Norway and Finland possibly ( dont know how many riders they have these days). -

The Great Tim Sugar. The problem is that the powers that be seem to want a "Face", somebody who talks the talk and looks the part. In reality that is a load of old Tosh. most of us who have been going to speedway for a while could manage a team through a meeting, ( jim Lynch excluded ). The most important thing is getting the right team in place. Some Team Managers have too big an ego for their own good. Our Tim, knew the rulebook inside out, was liked by the riders and didnt see himself as bigger than them and lets be honest he won a few things in his time. -
Spot on Rami, i shake your hand.

Maybe, but that aint no union jack tattood on his back.
-
Rather have a Jock in the Team ! LOL
-
Yes, didnt want him in Team GB beforehand and this is just a slap in the face.
-
I guess i am just old fashioned. Same as that great Pole " Runa Holta ". I dont agree with it, end of !
-
Except they werent wearing a Team GB one three days ago !
-
Yep !

I dont care if he had the option or not, this is a very stupid thing for him to do, and in my opinion disrespectful to Rob Lyon. I actually dont think he would have got in the aussie team anyway but now he has done this they are more than welcome to him.

Better than seeing Woffinden in a Team Australia shirt !

Alcohol At Cardiff
loyal royal replied to loyal royal's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Lovely thought but that is as far as it goes ! Look at football and Rugby. I support Reading and go to all home games at the Madejski but i am only allowed to take soft drinks to my seat. You can buy alcohol up until kick off and from 15 mins prior to half time until the second half kicks off. Somedays i would like to take a pint to me seat whilst watching but you cant and thats that, we all know the rules and accept it. Occasionaly i go to the same ground to watch Rugby and i can buy as much beer as i want, when i want and take it to my seat. Whats the difference ? The only conclusion i can come up with is that you by and large get different types of people at football than you do at Rugby. It looks like speedway attracts quite a large number of people who if you give them opportunity they will get as pissed as they can and some of those cant behave themsleves ! It would be nice Chris26 if people were responsible enough but in reallity mate it wouldnt happen. Perhaps they should follow footballs lead.
