    Wildcards 2010

Those are pretty much my ideas too. Freddie is an almost cert, he has been pretty good this season in the Gps and has had a great year in the EL. Tai is not ready yet. Just like they did with Chris Holder, they will wait another season and see if he can reproduse in the EL and improve on the continent. Or qualify like Holder has done. Not sure wether Richardson wil do better than Harris and Nicholls but what says he wont. The only thing i have to say is Lindback would certainly be my choice aswell but with Jonsson, Zetterstrom and Freddie (?) already in would they stick in a 4th Swede?? Im not so sure. I would have Lindgren, Zagar, Richardsson, Sullivan, Tai and Lindback in it next year if we could. If they dont want 4 swedes in, i would go for Lindgren and hope Lindback coninues his comeback next year with a return to the EL and gets in either by qualifying or through having great form in al the leagues. I havent posted on here in a long time, it feels wierd being back here debating GP stuff. Still got a cup final at rye, come on you rockets !!!!!!!!

    Ace Of Herts

Maybe Cobras??? Conference league at best, guys come on. Wich teams are you thinking cause i dont think any PL team would take that gammble. lets be honest and serious for a minute please. I have seen some crazy things on this forum from time to time, but that just takes first prize.

    Chris Holder For Gp

I am just gonna throw a name in here............................................................................ ................................................................................. ................................................................................. ..................................................................Leigh Adams. Never really followed the hype about Adams. Yes he score loads of points in england and prob everywhere else. But he is not amazing. Tomosz Gollob, best rider not to have bin world champ.

    Grand Prix

I dont think we are talking every World u-21 champ just the 2008 one I thought that the U21 champ qualified or has that stopped. I am sure Jason Crump, Lee Richardsson, Jarek Hampel and Krystof Kasprazak all got in origianally this way. Who was the las trider to get in this way? This is how i think they should do it: Top 8 from the previous year (how they do it anyway) Instead of racing the qualifiers before the GPcampaign has finished run it afterwards so if riders such as Chris harris or Scott nicholls dont get in the top 8 they could qualify through to next year. Maybe have a series of 3 events (with eaqual fields) with the top two from each qualifying to next years GP campaign. Maybe thats too compicated but my idea of racing the qualifiers after the full campaign still stands as a genuinely sensible idea. Then the World U-21 champ. and if i am right that leaves the wild card for each round and hey presto.

    Cardiff Opportunity For Tom Brown?

Thats not a bad idea either
  7. An interesting proposition, in the letters page of the July 19th Speedway Star, from respected announcer Craig Saul. He puts forward a great idea in my oppinion, an inclusion of Plymouth star Tom Brown at Cardiff. He lists a few reasons why he believes the 'Welsh Wizard' would be a great addition to proceedings at the big show at the Millenium Stadium. One being, he has a big claim to being Welsh No1 in the absence of Phil Morris. Another, he is "a true thrill merchant, with a never-say-die attitude". And lastly, and this is "the biggest PR opportunity", he suffered from septic arthritis in his infancy. He has overcome tremendous pain and physical chalenges "to be able to walk let alone ride (a speedway bike)". I think this is a marvelous idea and, seing as though the GP is held in Wales, it would be great to get Tom involed somehow. In my oppinion, whoever is in charge of the pre meeting entertainment should invite Mr Brown to demonstrate his thrilling riding style in a few laps of the Cardiff circuit, possibly inbetween the u-15 races. What do guys and gals think? i just thought id pull your attention towards this and see what you think about it. I would recommend you get your speedway star out and have a look, as i may not have covered everthing in this post. Lets get behind this proposal, as Tom is a true hero and inspiratin to us all.
  8. I think Jonas Davidsson would make a great wid card for this one, i have a few reasons for this: 1) I love his riding style. 2) his form in the world cup was great, and i seem to remember him doing quite good last year also. 3)He's finally made it in the EL after joining Lakeside, dont know what his form is like in all the other countries he's riding in but... Does anyone know how they choose the widcards for each round? is it based soley on averages around the leagues or is it preference (a group of people choosing a rider not on averages but on merit for example). With Johnsson and Lindgren already in it is there really any other obvious choice. What do u guys and gals think?

    Cardiff Opportunity For Tom Brown?

    1) Home rider 2) Exciting riding style 3) Watching him for a couple of demo's is better than watching the motocross freestyle jumpers that were on show this year, they were good for a few minutes but 15 mins, i dont think so. Question, Have you seen him ride before?

    Cardiff Opportunity For Tom Brown?

Tom Brown is only 23 mate and he has grown into an exiting riders. How does the fact that he's been around for a while or that the Cardiff GP has been around a mean anything. I wanted to see how much of a response this would get, hence originally placing it in the Speedway general part of this extensive forum. But someone moved it and now as i would of guessed has not had as much response as it would have done if it was still in the section i put it in. General discussions is the place where most people would look yet, it is now found here. I think they should add a thing where if the 'admins' think that a topic should be moved they at least inform the poster, instead of moving it without regard for them. I would appreciate an oppoligy from whoever moved this topic as, proven by the lack of response, it would be much better suited to the area it was originally in. I have had this happen to me on anumber of occasions and unlike some people who just add topics wherever they please, i pick where i put them due to relevance and where it will get the most 'reads'. And as it is a proposal wich should get huge backing i am upset and disheartened that it has been moved into obscurity. Peace and love Sauly

    Cardiff Opportunity For Tom Brown?

I was at rye house on sunday and Tom was a number 8 for Berwick. He came within a lap of beating Tai Woffinden on his home circuit and his performance was so good that he was nominated as a tactical ride, which is the first time ive ever seen it allocated to a number 8 and no-one else ive spoken to has ever heard or seen it before. Alot of people have stated, in the relevent thread in the premierleague section that, alongside Paul Clews he was worth the admission money alone. Well done Tom and keep it up!!!

    Gb Team

Any thoughts on Tai Woffindons inclusion in the team if we get to the run-off or final? Kelvin Tatum mentioned something quite interesting after Jim Lynch anounced this on sky last night, what happens if Olly Allen or Simon Stead have brilliant perfomance, how can you 'drop' them. I hope Tai gets the nod as it will be a learning process and experience for the future. On a side note: 5 Coventry specialists with at least 3 seasons racing thier each, can anyone beat them? On paper it looks a strong GB side with the track in mind but all the top Danes and Swedes will ride it well aswell. It will be a very tough meeeting but great racing surely.

Is Olly Allen going to be fit to ride? if not Tai will surely get the nod.

    Pre Meeting Entertainment

Some people are being a bit harsh about Ray, cocky, i call that great stage presence, M brothers were ok but its hard for anyone to do well at cardiff because the sound systems crap you cant hear what anyone saying even Coombesy. Oh and because the crowd is so far awy u can't really interact with them. I missed the Juniors racing, what was it like?
  15. "Whatever your views of Peterboro (or any other club) and the standard of racing/atmosphere they serve up, to wish a poor crowd on them without thinking of the consequences is a very poor thing to do" What are you on in this post lady, they do'nt need me wishing it on them they do it themselves. Oh and one poor crowd would not do anything, an accumulation of years of poor crowds is what would lead to a club going out of business. P.s are u a teacher or something cause you seem to have no respect for the young peoples opinions at all.
  16. Yeah whatever your 60 or so ,but what does SL mean. Plus when i said 'missy' i don't know u i just thought it was a good reply to your negative comment. u could be 18 0r 60 i don't know do i, or did you not notice that there are't video phones in this place.
  17. First things first what the hell does SL mean and secondly u have read it differently as to how it was intended, i did not say i wanted there to be a poor crowd for peterborough but if you go to both meetings i am pretty sure there will be about 2 people at the panthers match and little or no passing on track. I used to go there every week a few years back but i just got bored of it and turned to Rye for my weeks dose of speedway. I know they have new(ish) promoters and they seem to be heading in the right direction but i still have bad experiences with that club, but loads of good ones obviously. Peterborough are a team i watch out for now and again, but i am not as bigger fan as i was. I know rye won't perform to good at the huge schmowground but i will still go. Sorry for the huge post but i am having to defend myself here, Shooting Star 'woop ass' relates to how passionate i am about rye and speedway in general, it is a term that us 'youths' use to show how our teams our going to win, basically. THE SAINT u obviously have either never been to the scmowground or have when they actually care about what thier track is like. I know for a fact home riders have been a bit upset about how the track is set up at times in the last 3-4 years. Again sorry for the huge post but some of you people really do jump to conclusions and judge someone u don't even know. Oh and onother thing i don't travel very far to speedway because news flash i dn't drive yet and my father is heavily involved in work for Rye and The Panthers.
  18. Whatever, i would be just as pleased if both meetings got 5-10,000 but knowing Peterborough like i do i think the fours will pull more fans than the EL meetings usually do, look at it logically there will be hopefully fans from 8 PL teams there supporting thier riders and maybe panthers fans aswell. You know i make sense Star Lady. Any way i didn't say i wanted it to happen i just said it would be laughable. Peterborough have had poor crowds over the last 5 years sorry if i offended you missy, would that be speedway star in your name or Kings Lynn stars. In response to John Thomas they prob won't be as good as Zorro and Shane Parker who are former panthers and top PL riders. And in response to The SAINT no its not a wind up i just want it to be a bumper crowd because i am not prepared to go to the schmowground if it is half full with no atmosphere... sorry for wishing it to pull a big crowd. I am guessing your one of those fans that wont travel the extra miles to support what is going to be a gd meeting.
  19. Its going to be so awesome to see the Rye boys woop ass at The East of England Schmowground. By the way i used to support the panthers and went loads from about 97 to 05 but haven't bin there for a while because of poor track, no racing etc. But it will be awesome to see my current team the ROCKETS take off at the showground. Defo better racing at rye than peterborough!! I know its a bit early but i hope all of you hardcore PL fans will show up for this meeting if only to support Chappo and his super 7even match. i would laugh if there was a bumper crowd for PL action and then a poor crowd for the next panthers borefest. If i go to cheer on the Rye boys i want there to be a super atmosphere, i can see it now that if i do go there will only be 5 people and a dog there and it will be so quiet u could hear a pin drop. lets hope not eh, lets show the EL boys how its done and how to support your team. COME ON ROCKETS

Why when this mag is 3 years old can it still have "New speedway magazine" written on the front cover?

    2006 World Championship

I pretty much agree with that, apart from maybe iversen to do better than where you've placed him. Cardiff to be the highlight of the year with maybe a surprise winner like Jonsson or Hampel.
