  1. Does anyone know what music is played during the prade at SGP events whilst the riders are brought onto the track. Sounds like a Daft Punk style number but not sure! Any ideas?

I was wondering if anyone of our Swedish friends had a DVD copy of this meeting? I am looking to get hold of a copy of the meeting here in the UK. Cheers

Grand Prix Challenge 2009 @ Coventry

So for what appears to be general admittance (i hope it isn't because it's daylight robery) and a programme, they want £30 per adult. That is more expensive than most Grand Prix. Maybe this is seated cost, I really can't see how they could justify the price to stand.

    Americans In British Speedway (1970-90)

    1. Sam Ermolenko 2. Kelly Moran 3. Bobby Schwartz
  9. To my knowledge, it never happened, he did talk about doing some match races to showcase himself as the World Champion, but due to a late season injury at the end of '93 and his schedule in '94, I don't think it ever happened, which is a shame, would be an interesting experiment.
  10. Freddie Lindgren will also be in action at Perry Barr.

    125cc Speedway Bikes

Many Thanks for that. Total is now a dissapointing 3!
  12. Hi, Was wondering just how many people out there own or are currently riding a 125cc Speedway Bike of any spec. Am looking into a potential project for the 2009 season and am looking for some figures to take to the powers that be. If you could just let me know if you own a 125cc and your age i would be really appreciative. Either on here or by email would be great, Thanks for your help, Andy higgs2005@hotmail.co.uk

    Thee Individual Swedish Championship

Have just booked my flights, car rental and hotel for a trip to the Swedish Championships and am looking forward to coming over. Always enjoy my trip to Sweden. Am flying into Nykoping then driving upto Avesta and staying at the Best Western Hotel. It will be my first time at Masarna. Is anybody else making the trip over from the UK? Does anyone know what the ticket arrangements are for the 2 days? It looks as though you may be able to buy a ticket for all 3 meetings although i may have got this wrong.

    Dackarna

Fly from London Stansted which is a bit of a pain but it's quite straight forward to do. As someone pointed out earlier, the Michelin route plans are excellent. The roads are excellent, hardly ever any traffic, dual carriage way all the way. just watch out for stray moose!

    Dackarna

We have done Dackarna before, flew into Gothenburg, hired a car, its about a 3 hour drive south from there. Stayed in vetlanda just up the road and then went on to the meeting at Dackarna. There really is very little in Malilla itself. It's doable for about £150 all in if you book in advance with Ryanair, use Avis Car Hire.

    Carmarthen Speedway

Hi, I am thinking of writing a book about the short history of Carmarthen Speedway and was wondering if anybody had any photo's or memories they would be willing to contribute to the story. Unfortunately, racing at the Showground only spanned 3 years. Hywel Lloyd has kindly agreed to have a look through his archives for some pics but if there are any pics taken by the fans out there, they would look great in the book. Also if you have any memories you might like to see in print or can recall a trip to the Showground, feel free to get in touch, it would be nice to include a fans perspective. My aim is to donate any profit (fair to say not expecting too much of this!) from sales to the 'Benevolent Fund'. Thanks for looking. Andy higgs2005@hotmail.co.uk

    Carmarthen Speedway

Thanks all for your thoughts. I have sent a few PM's and thanks to Laurence for agreeing to help out, much appreciated. Andy
  20. Was wondering if anybody had attended any of the previous International Meetings hosted at the Franch track of Lamothe. They have been running individual meetings for the last 3 years. This years meeting doubles up with the French Individual Championship this season. I am thinking of making the trip but was wondering if anybody on here had made the journey in prior seasons?
  21. I hope the mods don't mid me posting this here. We are currently looking to establish links in both Sweden and Poland with a view to expanding our training projects. Therefore, we are looking to bring two people on board (one from Poland, one from Sweden) to be involved woth our training projects that we have coming up in 2008. If you would be interested in finding out more, then drop me an email at higgs@speedwaytrainingcompany.com and i will give you more details there. Thanks Andy speedwaytrainingcompany.com

    Finnish News

On the subject of Finnish riders, saw Kauko Nieminen tonight at Birmingham. Although he didn't win a race he was so entertaining. Very fast and tried loads of different lines. Along with Kenneth Hansen was the most entertaining rider on show. Top stuff! Much better than Kaj Laukkanen two days ago at Wolves who after a great first ride win (although against the Wolves reserves), was awful for the rest of the meeting.

    Finnish News

I agree totally. I think many of us are guilty of building riders up in terms of their ability and we believe that they can go further than what they will in reality. Having read some of your earlier posts, it looks as though the Finnish governing body need to sort out their domestic racing before they can really start to improve the talent they already have. Hopefully we will see Finland qualify for the World Cup again this year and maybe prompt more positive activity back in Finland.
