  1. What a tough round, the Sheffield one is! Especially with Auty, Hall, Ashworth and Cooper all being track specialists. Good luck to Cookie, Andrew T and Deek

    U/21 Final And Golden Helmet

Some meeting and finish to the u-21s. It'll be Ward or Janowski who'll win it.

Glasgow press release says that Joe Screen has withdrawn from the PLRC - real shame for the event and for the travelling Tiggers. Here is the press release: Joe Screen has been withdrawn from the line up at the PLRC at Sheffield this Sunday, 26 September. Joe is still suffering the effects of a neck injury sustained at Ashfield a few weeks ago. We have no news regarding the possibility of any replacement for Joe at this time. Best wishes for a full recovery Joe

Theres a surprise, Bongo! I'd read the first line of your post and I knew straight away you'd go for a Glasgow 1-2!!! If Screen is fit, then he'll be top 4. Fish will definitely be up there as well. I'll go for a slight outsider, Rene Bach to win it. Simply because if he doesn't make the gate, then he has the talent to pass as well - if the track is grippy.
  6. Good luck to Andy, Kalle and Ryan - stay safe! Cracking line up and I think the winner will be either Fish, Lyons or Auty. Lemo is good form as well though and as others have said the whole field are capable of fast winning times around Sheffield - hope its a cracker for those going

    Newcastle Diamonds V Glasgow Tigers

I'm pretty sure that even if Fish scored a full max and was the best rider there, it would still be his fault Glasgow lost

Wow a Monarch riding at number 1 for the Tiggers - that will be tough for the Glasgow faithful to cheer for I'm sure if he rides as well as he has been recently and also because he likes Brough - he'll more than equal what Joe would've scored.
  9. I agree with that, Tsunami - the boy has immense talent. For me the by far the best newcomer to the PL this year. Another year in the PL and, perhaps, doubling up in the EL and he will be on his way to being yet another great, young Aussie.
  10. Sam is just like a lot of other riders - just wants to win all the time. I'd be disappointed, in a way and as long as it wasn't going to far, if my team's riders didn't show that kind of will to win.
  11. Good luck to the Monarchs riding tonight - Kalle, Kevin and Matty. I'm sure Kevin and Kalle will have some interesting moments and Matty will be his usual reliable self!
  12. And Kevin Wolbert won't be there, as he is in the u-21 final. Tully will ride in his palce.

Can't tell you too much, but Alex Harkess explained the tyres a bit in last Friday's programme. They were described as "too hard" and that they were "more difficult to get on and off the rim". Joe Screen struggled badly, but upon changing from the golden tyre - looked very good. However Andrew Tully stuck with tyre all night and only changed it for the final - he finished 3rd overall and 12 points from his 5 rides. 3 other riders kept the tyre on the whole night, Kalle Katajisto thought they were fine as well. It was a bad idea to introduce something that was still being tested - althought they have been tried out quite a bit abroad. The Edinburgh promotion do regret trying them now, but its hard to tell if the first 8 heats were down to the new tyre or the track conditions. Not that I'm blaming the track, as it was quite grippy - it was really hard to tell! I'm guessing the riders who were struggling looked for something to blame and the new tyre was the obvious culprit!!

I agree, Paulco. Crowd last night was not bad - probably up slightly on a the usual PL match. Wasn't going to go last night, but we changed our mind at the last minute - kind of wish we hadn't! A Scotland International would be much more appealing to me.

Gino Manzares is in! Not sure who has dropped out, but thats a great addition for me. It'll be interesting to see how Gino does in such a tough field. Rory should walk this.
  16. Always a good meeting. Good luck to all, think Gino could be in with a real shout. Also Nick Morris has look good.

It was my first visit to Newport and I really enjoyed it. Yes it was dusty, but the racing was pretty close and there was a chance of over-taking - if setup and guts were right! Fisher's race from the back was immense and had everyone cheering, thats what people want to see - not gate and go. Slabon looked dangerous from the start, so congrats to him on his win. The Fish will be annoyed, but another good performance and certainly makes up for his poor showing at the Pairs. We had to leave early (after heat 13), as we needed to get to the airport - but nice venue, friendly banter and a good time. Finally hats off to Jason Doyle for laying it down when Alex Davies went down in heat 12. Davies went down right in front of him and his reaction time and skill to lay the bike down was immense. Especially impressive taking into account his weekend of partying in Cardiff
  18. Wow! Look at Group 1! So glad Edinburgh are not in that group!!
  19. What a pleasure it was to watch the first GP last night in Leszno. And how good is it that Ole Olsen has gone! No more slick tracks and the way the track was last night, meant we had some tremendous racing. The track was pretty smooth and the riders had more than Ole's 1 line to race on! The biggest shocks of the night were the scores from Gollob (6 points and no heat win!), Hancock (4 points) and Jonsson (5 points). All 3 we have become accustomed to seeing always in the semis/finals - so it was a bad night for all 3. Bomber was a shock! After seeing him in the EL on Sky, I thought he'd struggle big time. But no, made it to the semis with 8 points (2 heat victories in that), but was left with the graveyard gate 4 - so out he went. But very positive for him, certainly unexpected! Tai done exactly what I thought he would. He shouldn't be in the SGP, IMO. He is a talented rider, but just because he has reverted back to being a Brit - shouldn't have made him a shoe in. Before Bomber's display, I actually thought it was poor to have 2 Brits in! Holder was a revelation and will do well. Suffered from a bike failure in his middle ride and this cost him a place in the semis. But he scored a good 8 points and was exciting to watch. Kolodziej was a surprise packet - the wild card was super quick and was defintiely worth his place in the round. All in all, the SGP looked exciting again! We were treated to fast, skillful racing on a well prepared track. If this was how the rest of the series is going to be, we are all in for a great season!

That pretty much sums up my GP viewing too! Sick of the people that are in charge would have been more accurate! The sooner Kevin gets in the better though

    2010 Grand Prix wildcards

I'm sick of the GPs now - once used to get really excited about them, but now I'm just annoyed by them. Woffinden and Harris being included are a joke. Why people think Tai will do an Emil is beyond me - Harris won't do much better, but will score more than Tai IMO. Why on earth was Mataj Zagar overlooked? All they had to do was watch that magical race against Jason Crump at the SWC @ Peterborough and that alone should have made him a dead cert.
  22. Tai out of tonight's meeting with suspected Swine Flu!! Info is from the official Wolves site. They are looking for a replacement - which is probably Jimmy Fishback.
  23. Good on you, GG - Ryan will have appreciated that and also the prize money

If Shane does decide this season is his last, I'm sure he'll be happy to give it a blast for some extra cash!
