KOC Sat 4 June - Glasgow v Edinburgh
Paulco replied to Endeavour's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Probably had Masters and Pickering been there it wouldn't have got as close , but the what ifs are hard to swallow . Think it was the first time I've ever seen Sedgmen pass anybody which he did in the last lap of the final heat -

Well done Edinburgh, the world and his wife knew what change should have been made in heat 14 , so what chance have we got of winning anything this season -
Edinburgh v Glasgow KO Friday 3rd June
Paulco replied to Al Stewart's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hope we can keep this close tonight . It will be different from the league match as all three Monarchs heat leaders had average meetings by their standards then . I dont expect that to happen again. So anything less than a 10 point defeat will set up the guest fest tomorrow night nicely -

If the meeting between our two sides at Glasgow a couple of weeks ago is anything to go by , then bring it on . Poole , Glasgow , Leicester and possibly Redcar are looking like the four likeliest winners of trophies this season , with Poole looking favourites , but the end of the season could be a bit special -

Ruml was brilliant a couple of weeks ago guesting for Poole , Son of God in a Monarchs bib is a bit weird , but a solid number 1 around Ashfield , Sedgmen is a bit hit or miss , so in the lap of the gods with him for Pickering -
Carry out for the train . Red Lion ( good Rangers pub ) , Brewers Arms , Leaping Salmon and the Black and Gold club . Yes it's Berwick away , an outing not to be missed . Let's hope for decent weather and none of our riders are away in some god forsaken Eastern European country for the Under 23 tiddlywinks championship or something equally ridiculous this week

Edinburgh - new home required….
Paulco replied to JanAndersen's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I thought a field quite near the Armadale stadium was earmarked for the new track the last time the Monarchs were faced with eviction . Is that not a goer now ? -
Despite my frustration at the long interval , which once again worked against us , I thoroughly enjoyed last night . Had you seen the sustained torrential rain that fell an hour or so before the start time , it was amazing that we had any speedway at all . Understable the opening three or four heats were uneventful as riders worked out the track conditions , after that though we were royally entertained . The unpredictable nature of what was happening made the meeting compelling . 6 points down with three heats to go and things weren't looking good for the home side , and I actually thought Poole were looking like getting a four pointer. But we fought back well and the culminating heat 15 was a bit of an epic .
-
Please can we bin that long protracted interval after heat 10 , we fall in a heap after that most weeks
-
We always had that criticism leveled at us from certain quarters . Was said that the track was only prepared to suit Shane Parker whether there was any truth in that is open to conjecture

The current state of the SGB CHAMPIONSHIP

Rolling averages dont tell the full story though. On this seasons meetings he will be much higher than 7 -
Looks like a trip to the Hillman Imp arena is a guaranteed 4 points to the league's big hitters

I have to agree with all the above , speedway's El Classico should be available to the wider speedway public . We cant all be privileged to be there in person like me

Few years back I, before the Facennas , i was summoned to a meeting at the track and asked to describe the race more and not just say from the gate , even if the race was just from the gate . -

As one of the much maligned texters myself , got moaned at on Friday for not being quicker than Glasgow's twitter , I've learned you should pretty much just stick to reporting what you see happening over the 4 laps on the track . -
