Championship Rider Final 24/09
Fingersfin replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Leander interested in why you think the banking should be reduced, presumably the work being proposed is to create an inside line, giving both an inside and an outside option for racing. How would reducing the banking help? just interested in your thoughts. -

Think Richard forgot which Tigers owners, sponsors and supporters have paid his wages and cheered for him the last 3 years. Just shat on us from a great height. -
Workington V Glasgow 29/07/17 7:00pm Champ.
Fingersfin replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Enjoyable meeting with the Tigers mid meeting collapse proving fatal. Do wish we would allow movement as long as the tapes aren't touched every meeting is being blighted by reruns at the moment from the GPs down and the entertainment factor is suffering as a result. Awful decision in Heat 9 to exclude Aaron can only presume Jim was unsighted and missed Tom tape touching from 4. Think most fans wanted Dan in 15, as at that stage he was looking quicker than Aaron but can't blame Stewart for going safe. Good atmosphere Worky fans very happy to have beat us, take that as a compliment -

Perhaps, making sure the curfew was reached, would have been more appropriate -

I am a Glasgow fan so my knowledge and eye witness account of the incident will be dismissed. However perhaps the best summation of the events comes from the wise sage Edinburgh's Mike Hunter who on their Facebook discussion page, posted the following. 'I think they are effectively saying Redcar were guilty of sharp practise in going past the curfew. That's what 'exceptional circumstances' means.' -

Glasgow Tigers V Scunthorpe Scorpions . Championship League Sat 1st April 2017 At 7 P.m.
Fingersfin replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
There is some fabrication required for the screen, at the moment all Allied resources are flat out on the core business so its delayed. It is bought and is in Glasgow -
Thank you for your informed comments throughout this thread, very much appreciated. Sad that we won't see you at Glasgow this year.

The Tigers social media is done by volunteers.

Social Media Premiership Belle Vue - did some professional looking stuff last year but not enough of it. Somerset - Churn out quite a bit, graphics aren't to my taste but they make an effort. Good use of interviews. Wolves - Similar story to Somerset for me the #Wolfpack hash tag has sunk in. The Rest nowhere Poole, Swindon, King's Lynn all surprisingly poor. Championship: Glasgow - I am too close to it to comment impartially but I think we do a good job. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram all covered well with news, photos and video. A web tv show and our own app with weather updates and Man of the Match features. Ipswich - Were unlucky that their Facebook live show bombed but the setup looked good, content always looks smart and professional. Berwick - Honourable mention to the Bandits who upped their game a lot last season although it's a bit sporadic. National League IOW - Tremendous both online and in the community, very impressive, working their socks off. Honourable mentions to Birmingham, Eastbourne, Cradley and Lakeside. I don't bother tracking websites much

Warsaw Gp 13th May 2017
Fingersfin replied to james1234's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yup our group did silver last year was about £100, a fair deal we thought, but £160 this year sees our party of 14 Glasgow Tigers fans going for £20 seats instead. -
All fair and relevant points, Glasgow fans are very aware of Berges' strengths and weaknesses. Sticking to my guns about Nike and Dan.

Perhaps I should rephrase 5 riders worthy of heat leader positions in the current league. Of the full teams announced Scunthorpe Third Heat Leader MPT 6.98, Berwick Berge 6.91. Both Bewley and Lunna are capable of achieving around 7.00 I think.
-
Before his injury he was beating opposition number ones for fun and was single handedly holding the Monarchs season together. Any spell at reserve for Dan would be short lived. With Lunna and Bewley we would be looking at potentially five riders battling for the heat leader positions. The team could be very strong indeed!

I have a lot of sympathy for fans who rarely comment but have said that the move from Sunday makes things difficult for them. Most understand the reasons for the move as listed by the club but are understandably disappointed. My ears are closed to the serial complainers.

Which Teams Will Line Up To Contest The 2017 Elite League?
Fingersfin replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Glasgow won't be moving up. -
Another plus one here for Saturday night's. The rest of the family who don't share my love of circles will get to see their husband and dad on a Sunday afternoon which has gone down very well.

Its been a great season which I have thoroughly enjoyed and hopefully a lot more to come. So who has done enough to wear the stripes next year? Richard Lawson - As has been pointed out there are very few better within the league but a wee end of season dip in form is a bit concerning and his Armadale form is patchy which like it or not has to be a consideration - See you next year Victor Palovaara - 9th in the World at Under 21 level, Junior of the year in Sweden but have to say flatters to deceive for Glasgow. Has been pretty poor since his ankle knock and we may have got our value out of him this year- Not for next year Nick Morris - Tough year for Nick started so well then the injuries to Darcy and his elbow knock have slowed his progress. Doesn't hide the fact that he doesn't like the Ashfield track. Has busted a gut for the Tigers but with a team already too strong I think he will be the heatleader to make way - Not for next year Kauko Nieminen - Would imagine that he wouldn't fancy a full season, so great to have him back lovely guy but - Not for next year Aaron Summers - Has become the man at Glasgow which probably wasn't expected but is riding with speed and confidence. Think there would be a riot if he wasn't back - See you next year James Sarjeant - Great wee guy who seems to like the club, has done all that was expected of him this year. Can he overcome the witchhunt and keep progressing? You would like to think so but awkward average, don't know, his fate may depend on the British reserve rules for next year - Not for next year. Hynek Stichauer - Very attractive average but I think conference changes will force him out - Not for next year. So weird to dismantle a team that has finished 3rd and reached a cup final but there you go. Who will come in? This is just a wishlist as I have no idea about averages and building teams but riders who have impressed me at Ashfield this year or who I think would provide entertainment are: Nico Covatti Jonas B Andersen Jack Holder Richie Worrall Anders Thomsen Ben Barker Josh Grajczonek Would also love to see one of the new breed of Polish wonderkids but we would need a change of race day for that Have to feel that Glasgow are now an attractive proposition for riders with big crowds, great sponsors, top class pits\showers! and no danger of not getting paid. So we will see what comes down the chimney! What are your thoughts troops?

Somerset V Glasgow Ko Cup Semi-final 1st Leg, 23 Sep 2016
Fingersfin replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Unfortunate that the start was delayed due to admission issues, Somerset could have then completed 13 and 15 where they looked stronger and maybe they would feel less aggrieved this morning.
