  1. Mateusz,

We have sector B tickets I seem to remember that from previous threads, you have to get into the stadium really early, to guarantee your spot on the back straight.

    So my questions are

    1. What time would you recommend?

    2. Can you buy drink within the stadium while you wait? or can you smuggle booze in?

    3. Does it get a bit hairy guarding your spot? as I heard that some groups of supporters tape off large areas of the terracing, is that right?

  2. lol....Truly bonkers.................but I like it!!

I remember Hans Nielson came to Glasgow to do some match races against Kenny McKinna..the event was hyped to the max and I remember as a young kid being really excited about it.

I guess keeping the identity of the Speedway Stig would be nigh on impossible but having a 'pool' of stigs to choose from might keep people guessing.

Fun, promotional idea, made me laugh.

  3. Hi Bongo,

I tried emails to the farewell committee and direct to Leszno stadium.

No reply from Leszno (email was in English)

The farewell committee said they hoped to have some tickets this month but that didn't seem certain, they also said that there was no danger of us not getting in, however I would like to secure a good seat in advance!

Was stuck on the apex of the first and second bend for the grand prix this year and it wasn't the best view...

So at the moment no further forward.

  4. I read on a Polish Website today that officials from Zielona Gora are travelling to the UK to cast their eye over some of our tracks ahead of a track remodeling this winter.

The tracks mentioned were Rye House :o , Lakeside  , Eastbourne  and Ipswich!!

    Polands first trick track?

Now all they need is a wee jaunt to Armadump to complete the set.

Of course we at Ashfield already have a track modeled on Zielona Gora.....no passing after the first bend. B)

Obviously no one has told them that Ipswich is now the Bydgosh of East Anglia.

  5. This season has been tragic as for the attendances at league matches in Poland and the whole league system (regulations, riders' pays, ticket prices etc...) has to be changed asap...

...and it will be done - lots of changes in Polish speedway starting from next season.

Interesting stuff Mateusz have you any feel on what changes will be made.

Its amazing that Torun has dropped by so much with the worlds greatest speedway stadium in place, is that purely down to ticket prices?

.....slightly off topic but how far is it from the Bydgoszcz train station to the stadium as I have to collect my tickets on the day of the GP...can't wait..the place is going to go off!!

  6. You can buy a ticket on the day for Torun, our group went to the Torun v Zielona Gora match after the Lezsno GP. Incredible stadium, great track but it was half full, and I believe crowds are still an issue so you won't have any problems in getting in.

You buy your tickets outside the perimeter fence, if you fancy a beer go to the temporary bar outside, once inside the fence you can't drink.

No idea about the under 21 match sorry.

  7. Staying in Poznan for the Lezsno GP and the Torun v ZG match is now in our sights!

Can anyone advise on distance to the stadium from the train station, are there bars round about it, whats the best place to sample the pre-match atmosphere.

Looks like there are great views everywhere in the stadium, any comments on the best or worse place to sit? Is the upper tier to far away from the action?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Can any of our Polish friends advise if the Ekstraliga dates are being reviewed.

Are Zielona Gora trying to get them changed?

From what I can gather it appears that the harsh winter has had an impact on the development work at the Falubaz track?

Just interested as I am going to the Lezsno Grand Prix and would love a choice of fixtures on the 25th of April.

I think Wroclaw v Gorzow is the only fixture scheduled at the moment (we are staying in Poznan)

  9. A sad story, scumbags! Hopefully you are well on the way with regards to your recovery, and who knows what the future holds.

You are being a wee bit hard on DK Rides Again as IIRC stands for If I Remember Correctly, I dont think the tone of their post was derogatory at all.

Anyway best of luck and respect to you for chasing the dream!

  10. Sorry I don't agree the last Grand Prix in Australia was fairly well attended it was just in the wrong location.

I think the cost of hire and clean up afterwards crippled the local promoter.

A more humble abode is required but Australia deserves a GP. New Zealand not so sure but it makes logistical sense.

I don't think Sky would worry one little bit about taking a feed from the other side of the world.

  11. Yeah, I know the Wroclaw track is sh!t but I'm not sure whether it's not one of those things they are going to rebuild next spring... And the line-ups are pretty strong with Wroclaw led by Crump and Bjerre against Gorzow with Gollob, Pedersen, Zagar etc so it may be a decent meeting after all.

There might be Division 1 matches that Sunday though. Div 1 & 2 fixtures have been not released yet.

    Cheers

We are staying in Poznan. Apart from our host city what other 1st/2nd division options could there be on the Sunday? ie a couple of hours travel time.

Was the average gate for Poznan last year a couple of thousand?

    Thanks again
