  1. Weather in Norwich hasn’t been too bad this morning although showers forecast. How’s it looking in KL..? My car needs a run so unless I hear otherwise, I’ll assume meeting is going ahead and leave about 6pm. If it’s cancelled, at least my car gets a run

There's an old saying "Never kick a man when he's down" but it seems that's all some people can do. I don't know if its their own personal agendas or grudges, I think its just their mentality!
  3. Indeed that is true, but still disrespectful when a rider has fallen...can understand if its due to an engine failure but not when a rider could be lying injured on the track!
  4. Well I'm very pleased to hear that BigFatDave...a pity the mentality of some supporters at the tracks I've attended isn't the same as the Aussies. I'm not saying it happens at every meeting, but usually when the score is close and points are crucial....an opposing rider falls and certain supporters will cheer I'm afraid. I hate it!
  5. Another Top Post! Can I also ask why people that are British dont support the Brits? I know its a free country and all that...yawn...but why support another nation? They'd soon be moaning if Britian didn't put a team together for this event...!
  6. I thought this was what the forum was for these days
  7. Unfortunately, fans do cheer when riders fall...fans get passionate about the racing and want their team to win...It doesn't mean you hope the rider is hurt in any way....it also doesn't mean I condone it, I DONT! But it happens all the time at every race track....its part of speedway...it always has been and always will unfortunately....
  8. Isn't it a shame that after such a great meeting there are the usual forum members still having to slate everything. You cant satisty everyone I know, but its always the same names slating King's Lynn...whether its the track or the owners of the stadium and boy does it make boring reading.....
  9. He's probably got a nice shiny new pink one for the new season
  10. Thanks for weather updates SL, very much appreciated. Please keep us informed....gonna be one of those "will it wont it" days I think!
  11. I have heard meeting unlikely to be re-staged. Whether this is to do with what has been said or not I don't know.
  12. Looking forward to this....just hope the track is well prepared so we see some good racing. An excellent line up! Would love to see 4 KL boys making the final, although I predict Holder to win tonight.
  13. And the same from me....should be a cracking meeting for a very very worthwhile cause. Hope it all goes as planned and plenty of money is raised.
  14. Check this out: http://metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=pe2 Not looking good!
  15. Its more of a case of would others like me wearing lycra or not! I think not!
  16. We had some torrential downpours yesterday which only lasted about 5-10 minutes, but the amount of rain that fell in that time was enough to wash out a speedway meeting completely. But forecasters do get it wrong as we know. The rain could completely miss the EoES.
  17. I totally agree with you Bryn. I know 90 miles isn't far at all (180 mile round trip), but I drove to King's Lynn on Wednesday night to find it cancelled when I got there (90 mile round trip for me) and I don't want to risk doing that again. Petrol ain't cheap and I don't want to risk wasting more petrol money. The question is "would I be more disappointed if I stayed at home and missed the meeting cos the weather forecast was wrong, or drive 90 miles to find it rained off". That is a question I am asking myself right now. Answers on a postcard please..................
  18. I just wish the meeting would be cancelled sooner rather than later, especially for those who have a long way to travel (its about 90 miles for me).

  21. Really looking forward to this one! The weather is looking fantastic too. I'm gonna risk it and leave the thermals off tonight! My brother is even coming out of "The Speedway Supporter Retirement Home" for this one!
  22. SS, I totally agree with your comments. I was rather "nipped up" every time Chris Holder was on the track. Some may find his style of riding exciting to watch, but I for one dont! I found his style erratic and slightly out of control - which he proved when he hit the fence. Fortunately, he walked away....
  23. Thanks schumifan. Does this mean he has withdrawn from the GP qualifier or the WTC? or both?
  24. Apparently, in The Mirror newspaper one day this week, it said that Lee Richardson had withdrawn from the WTC squad. I can't see any mention of this anywhere on this thread. Does anyone know anything about this? Sorry if someone has already posted and I've missed it.
  25. Happy Birthday Triple B's.
