my only guess is lack of depth, not knowing if any of our GP riders could do it or not

the only main FIM event in the year is the SWC/SoN, all the others are FIMEurope and these meetings have a lot more limitations, not only financial but also on riders allowed i.e only one GP rider in teams. Some nations choose to use a GP rider, some choose to blood youngsters, others choose experience with youngsters. It's about finding the balance and of course riders that want to be involved. Pulling on a national racejacket isn't always the same now as it was in the past, sometimes it comes down to finances and availability.
I can assure you though that GB do take things incredibly seriously and are constantly working to try to progress and push riders that want to be involved and there will certainly be more medals earned this season.

i wonder if it's more of a way to guarantee all riders are present as practice for Cardiff & Warsaw is on the Friday

Last year at Pardubice we had a meeting postponed and then rearranged for a 9am start, Mikkelsen and Bewley got helicopters to their Polish meetings and Adam Ellis drove but missed his sign in by minutes I believe so couldn’t ride in the meeting
-
Buster used to get much more detailed forecasts from RAF Marham, so maybe they’re expecting some more localised issues. But if there’s been cars on an already wet track it certainly doesn’t help

Bednar looks to be one of the best coming out of the Czech Republic, worth keeping an eye on for sure

Terrible last 4 heats, and Brennan missed his last ride to get his helicopter

As does Tom Brennan.
weather here today has been really up and down, torrential rain, then warm and sunny, but far too much of the wet stuff for the track.
it was tipping it down again at start time so a good call really.
time will tell if the track is any better in the morning, I’m not particularly confident.
expect Kvech at reserve to have all his rides early in case the meeting doesn’t go the distance so going to make it even tougher for GB

to be fair, at Wroclaw last year half the stadium wasn't even open until the final

you obviously haven't seen Kvech, Bednar, and Klima around Pardubice

The only good riders they've got are Brennan, Zach Cook and Steve Worrall (The latter gets a free pass due to him riding out of position as a HL due to Tolley's clownery when it comes to team building)
Milik is useless on British tracks, Flint is abysmal for a Rising Star who's been around for a good few years now and never improved, The only track he's good around is Berwick. Pawlicki getting 5-1'd by Joe Thompson basically tells fans everything they need to know on night one, No point bringing Lampart back because he'll just struggle all season.
Tolley's either got to splash the cash on riders like Zagar and Laguta (Everyone has a price) or he's just got to pull out of the league because he'll lose thousands and thousands of pounds because fans will not turn up to watch an uncompetitive team for much longer, Brum don't have a loyal fan base like KL for example.
I think you’ve mentioned a few times now on here that Birmingham should pull out the league .. that won’t do the sport any good will it, or having lost Peterborough you don’t really care?

only got 10 minutes down the road so not too bad

have to ask about the weather down in dorset, looking good, yay or nay?
-
in this competition the teams are only allowed 1 GP rider.
strength in depth is not what GB have at the moment

Guess the foreign riders dictate things these days (travelling etc...,)
looks like a bit of rain very early morning then dry rest of the day ....

I think people used to look at Wimbledon as being the only track that had races OVER 4 laps because of the finish line being further along than the tapes

-
i mean when the gate was on the home straight and the finish post was a bit further on .. were league meeting times taken from the finish post, but FIM meetings at the tapes?

-
was there a change in start line/finish post locations?
-
wonder if we'll see any change in Doyle's riding now he's a dad .. so often we see riders change
-
i just hope they learn from the past

Riga is a nice city and the GP will be in the day (they have no lighting) so still time to go out after the meeting.
Warsaw is always a great atmosphere and a fabulous city to explore
