    Eastbourne 2020

Still owned by the Dugard family.

    Eastbourne 2020

    Wouldn't suprise me.

    Eastbourne 2020

It does feel a bit final with the sale of Brennan. Any potential revival could have been built around him.
  4. The track is the most important part of a promoters business, few see it that way.

    Eastbourne 2020

Jordan, the Dugards or a third party?

    Eastbourne 2020

    I wonder who owned Brennan.

I'm only going by what the man said when interviewed. I was not alone in hearing it.

    Eastbourne 2020

They should never have run two teams for a start. Double headers are not popular with a lot of fans and for some, it was an excuse not to go.

He said he was a director, when interviewed at the last Arlington meeting.

I tell you what is ironic. Ian Jordan closes Eastbourne speedway, yet one of his unpaid riders Richard Lawson, signs for Plymouth, another Ian Jordan track. That's real irony for you!

That's why I'd never contribute to a begging bowl. Eastbourne's demise has been brought about by poor management. I've paid out more than enough over the years.

    Swindon Robins 2020

Good luck with that. 2022 will be a vastly different place in the speedway world, compared to 2019.
  13. I'm thinking of going to this, but the track issues are putting me off. The track was pretty good when i saw the Kent meeting earlier in the season. Why has it deteriorated so much.

They might gain some. I saw a few Eastbourne fans there last Tuesday.

    Your Least Favourite Track

Newport Somerton Park, Bristol Eastville & Glasgow Craighead Park were three of the worst.

    RIP Taffy Owen

RIP Taffy. He ran possibly the best track shop ever, at Hyde Road.

    Wimbledon & Carmarthen.

    Swindon Robins 2020

Maybe Swindon don't have a promoter to ask the big questions. When this awful season is over, will anyone want to run it.

    Eastbourne 2020

It's all very well Glasgow paying the big bucks, but in the end there will be hardly any one left to race against.

    Eastbourne 2020

All joking aside. I wonder if Barry Bishop could turn around a track like Eastbourne, with his promoting skills and positivity.

    Eastbourne 2020

The sport needs a lower level championship and a higher level NDL. So that tracks with a hardcore of 500 fans, can offer a competitive and reasonably priced product.

    Eastbourne 2020

The crowds dropped off in their last season of NDL in 2018. When a track moves up, it's very hard to go back. A lot of people are not interested in a lesser product. These are very uncertain times for the sport.
