  1. Tanya, a very sensible reasoned post. I agree that it may have not have been the most exciting meeting but considering the conditions of the past few weeks it was a tremendous effort by all involved to get the meeting on. It did seem obvious to me that some riders weren't prepared to try terribly hard but some riders did and I think on the whole it was a good meeting.
  2. His report says the pre meeting entertainment was 'bike acrobatics' - surely that was last year ?

    Gp Dvd's

I'm looking for a copy of the Italian GP either dvd or video if anyone has one. I missed it as it was my daughters birthday and it sounds like it was a cracker. Thanks
  4. Unfortunately the 'themed music' for the riders was like one of those bad jokes that was vaguely amusing the first time you heard it but by the time it had been repeated umpteen times was really unfunny and annoying. Also, who was the genius responsible for playing Gary Glitter when the juniors, one as young as 11 years old was racing? I found that to be a completely bizarrre and unacceptable choice of music. Maybe they had been in a bunker for years and had no idea of what he had been found guilty of. I can't even begin to comprehend that anyone would be stupid enough to think that the 'ivor bigun' song was acceptable at a family event. I've read the comments regarding what is suitable for a 4 year old to hear but it's not just young children that sort of thing isn't acceptable to. Far too many cliched choices of music i'm afraid and nothing new and exciting. Black box, ELP, John Williams and Queen. Cutting Edge stuff!!
  5. As a speedway fan who is also an ex jockey i can't believe that the riders involved can get away with this form of race fixing. If four of us jockeys got together before a race and made this sort of deal we would be up before the stewards and fined/banned. If the winner wanted to split the winnings AFTER the finish then i dont have a problem with that. I don't think that the final looks like 4 guys going all out to win £60,000 more like 4 guys knowing they got £15,000 even if they stopped after the first lap. Be very interested to hear what the guy that put up the £60,000 feels about the deal. The richest minute in speedway? No, the richest chat in the pits beforehand more like.
