  1. Rye had the makings of good team this year until we signed our last rider Simon Lambert on 4.41 average whilst we had 6.99 pts to play with. Garrity at reserve for the start of the season and we could have been flying. Len quoted that he doesn't look at the averages, hope he does next season.

  2. And that is why I have been naysaying all those putting the Diamonds down as the top team. Been weak all season at the sharp end of away matches.

Great season overall but not enough firepower in the end. Got to remember that our #1 started last season as a 3 point reserve.

Wrong. Worrall started the season with a 5.64 average, Kerr started with a 3 average. Even steve worrall started on 3.93.

  3.

spot on no other sinister speculation needed - even heard an interesting idea on who our number one may be next year (could be an ex rye favourite reurning)

Names that spring to mind are Danny King, Linus Sundstrom and Eddie Kennett. Can only see Kennett doing it out of them 3. Wouldn't mind which one as our number 1.

    Or could it be Tai?

  4. Much prefer the Top 6 format used in the European championships, with the top 2 straight to the final and places 3-6 having a semi for the last 2 final places, it seems a fairer method, yes it would deprive us of 1 heat but the riders would have to race a bit harder inthe other heats knowing that only the top 6 would qualify with the top 2 places automatically into the final.

  5. So as it seems I am not arsed about speedway anymore  I thought I would make the effort and start the final RH home thread of 2013.

Somerset lead by 28 points from the first leg one week ago so this I am afraid is a foregone conclusion as to where the KO Cup will end up.

Len will suprise everyone by announcing a humungenous signing for 2014......................................

Yeah probably the well known rider Jason Garrity if fit

  6. How on earth can this be called a Belle Vue team???

Leicester: 1. Magnus Karlsson, 2, Jan Graversen, 3. Ryan Fisher, 4. Lasse Bjerre, 5. Kevin Doolan, 6. Alex Edberg,7. Simon Nielsen

Belle Vue: 1. Craig Cook, 2. Jozsef Tabaka, 3. Richard Lawson, 4. Thomas Jorgensen, 5. Rene Bach, 6. Ryan Douglas, 7. Steve Worrall

    Pointless fixture.

  7.

Worrall did a great job covering for Lambert, as did Hughes for Rose but R/R for Kerr only accrued five points when Lewis would probably have been in double figures.

Certainly is a pity that Lambert doesn't ride in the weekend away meetings but its been known from the beginning that he's committed to racing on the continent most weekends against more experienced riders which must be doing him more long term good.

No chance of him going to Rye House next year then.

  8. Taken from Rye House website

As promoter Len Silver admitted afterwards, “We missed (U-21 World Cup-bound) Tyson Nelson immensely – we could only cover Rider-Replacement with two team men and two reserves, while they could use all their top men to cover for Nick Morris – while the rules decree that we could only use a National League guest to step in for the permanently missing Jason Garrity.

.Why have we got the permently missing Garrity in our team ?

Why did we redeclare with Garrity back in the team would Bowen have been a better bet?

  9. Compare the NLRC format against the Under 19 and PLRC format over the weekend, the riders knew that a top 6 finish would qualify for the latter part of the meeting. Olly Allen and Stefan Nielson didn't top score but still won their meetings., where as Steve Boxall and his fellow NLRC riders knew that every race mattered. In the other meetings not every pt did matter, so surely a rider would be trying harder in the NLRC format of a meeting.
