  1. Online purchase was fairly straightforward. Used link with English translation, registered, then purchased using credit card. Printed off purchase receipt (to take when uplifting tickets at Stadium). Received confirmation e-mails also & correct amount has been debited from credit card.
  2. Thanks pal - they must have disinfected their shop and I have ordered my tickets

    Rochester

I recall a conversation I had with an IT consultant in the mid 1990's who hailed from the Rochester area and was adamant that he had attended a Speedway meeting at Rochester Greyhound Stadium in the nineteen fifties. I was sceptical about this but the individual concerned was highly regarded professionally and not prone to making wild claims.

    Geoff Carnell

Would his dad be Malcolm Riddell who rode for the Diamonds c. 1951 ?
  7. As Kevin Wolbert dropped his Polish commitments early, allegedly due to payment problems, he might be looking to compensate for this in 2011 by increasing his UK racing diary by doubling up, rather than relying solely on EL meetings. I am surprised that it has been suggested that his preparation at times has been suspect. IMO his kit is always well prepared and he employs a Polish mechanic on site for his British meetings. In fact in order to obtain the optimum set up for Armadale, he has had Peter Carr prepare engines specifically for riding on his home track.

Agree - if Ashworth was not a Sheffield rider and previous winner, we would not be having this debate.
  9. Some of us are not viewing this forum all the time so you erroneously presumed I had been following events. Rather than admit that you made up porkies about what I stated, you come up with the above drivel. No wonder it is hard to sympathise with Tigers plight when you turn your jealous venom on Merlin for mentioning the fact that Wolbert had been asked before Sunday about his availability for Monday if needed. It is also speaks volumes of your knowledge of the regs by being strung along by Abbott who knew fully well that Wolbert could only replace McGowan if another Tiger in 2 - 5 was also missing Well he certainly hooked a dumb Weegie this time
  10. Aye X-Man just make up porkies as you go along. Like to quote which alleged earlier post I made regarding the highlighted ? Or should we make allowances for you being unable to comprehend the truth
  11. It was plainly and unambiguously stated in my post :- Glasgow were unsure earlier last week about whether McGowan and Branney would be available, hence why they took the precaution to enquire as to Wolbert's availability should both be unable to ride. But rather than accept this you go wittering on with petty insinuations about Merlin. Why not accept the reason why Kevin Wolbert mentioned this before Sunday. There was nothing improper in Glasgow making contingency enquiries in advance, what was coincidental was that Wolbert was drafted in as a guest for a different reason (Screen's concussion). What a sour faced lot some Glasgow fans on here really are, a Monarchs riders is drafted in to assist, and a respected Edinburgh fan gets accused of implying there "was something sinister going on." I'm afraid Wendy the only thing sinister here is your warped interpretation of what Merlin actually stated. Still I suppose it's only forums that Tigers fans believe they are capable of point scoring these days
  12. Nothing sinister at all in Merlin's post, just as usual some paranoid Weegie ready to slag off Edinburgh again. Glasgow were unsure earlier last week about whether McGowan and Branney would be available, hence why they took the precaution to enquire as to Wolbert's availability should both be unable to ride. Of course Abbott conveniently ignores that Branney was also doubtful (perhaps still smarting from being found out about Andrew Tully's apology, that never was ) so stirs it and an X-rated Weegie takes the bait
  13. Do not agree that you can overly interfere with riders accepting guest bookings - after all Wethers is guesting for Wolves on Monday, so it would be unfair to deny Wolbert earnings because you do not fancy the teams invovlved at Brough. I can appreciate where a rider has heavy schedule that it might put too much strain on man and machinery, but at the end of the day, the rider should be given option whether or not to accept a guest booking.
  14. Afraid Birmingham at Brough on 6/9, so Lyons ruled out on 7 day rule
  15. Unless he has had hamburgers for his supper tonight, perhaps Tigers should go for Kevin Wolbert as a guest replacement

    Newport Vs Glasgow

Typical Weegie wimps - the Mighty have home a mtg on 3rd, then Stoke on 4th, before gate & go Borefield on 5th, and we aint complaining

    A Childs And Startrax Frames

Tony Childs in his early days second halving at Norwich was listed in the programmes as Anthony Childs and IIRC came on the scene in the late 1950s.

Stand by to receive pelters from the visiting fans this week
  19. Was it Peterborough's decision or being a shared event, the BSPA who decided to charge ?
  20. As wild and wide have different meanings, I was being generous and assuming that you were running true to form, and twisting the original quote Apologies, I did not credit you with being illiterate as well as having poor eyesight
  21. The word used is wild, not wide ! You cannot even quote accurately on here, so why should anyone consider you to be a reliable witness of actual racing incidents
  22. Go and watch the dvd and then give an honest answer as to whether or not it confirms your allegations.
  23. Was your source Tully directly, or from whom ?
  24. Not what the dvd shows, but why let the truth contradict your version of events Furthermore, here is the extract of the match report by Laurence Heppell on the Official Newcastle website:- "Larsen made a wild entry into bend one in the sixth, straightening up and took his partner Sneddon off into the fence with him for which he was disqualified by the referee, but before the three-man re-run Sneddon had to spend a significant time with the doctor in the medical room for pain relief." So which of these well known sayings applies to you:- "Should have gone to Specsavers" or "Liar, liar, pants on fire"
  25. Nice to see Brummie fans having something to cheer them up after the disappointments they have experienced this season - well done. Jason Lyons is a class act and shows no signs of age eroding his performances. Also praise for a decimated Sheffield quartet in reaching the Final, having put the much fancied full strength Newcastle & Berwick teams to the sword in their Semi Pleasantly surprised the Monarchs took the runners-up spot and hopefully some major honours might come our way this season
