Sheffield Vs Birmingham Championship 05/05/2019
Boothers replied to TigerAl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Heathcote - who was obviously at the meeting (I wasn't!) gives you what was apparently announced at the meeting and Updates also gives this as the result. However the official referees scorecard published on the British Speedway official website gives it as Hume in 3rd and Kennedy 4th so I presume this will be the version that goes down in 'Speedway History' and will be reflected in Kennedy's CMA (won't affect Hume as he was Guesting). Personally I'd go with Heathcote. -
Glasgow v Newcastle CS , 3/5/19 @19-30

Kyle has already scored 1pt less than he achieved in total all last season. Workington should be praised for sticking with the young man last year when other teams wouldn't. What would he be doing if Worky were still in the League? -
Ben Barker Testimonial (Redcar 23/03/2019 15:00)
Boothers posted a topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Surprised no-one else has done this but as Ben deserves it I'll start a thread on here for the first time ever:- Four Team Tournament: Teams as follows, Redcar: Ben Barker, Charles Wright, Tom Bacon, Jordan Stewart. Middlesbrough: Sam Masters, MPT, Nathan Greaves, David Wallinger. Workington: Steve Worrall, BWD, Simon Lambert, Kyle Bickley. Newcastle: Thomas Jorgensen, Lewis Kerr, Ulrich Ostergaard, AN Other: Come along and support one of Britains most hard working, popular and likeable riders (OK 2 & 3 might depend upon whether he's riding for your team or not lol!) -
From a neutral (Redcar) supporter, Lewis Kerr looked very good at Ben Barker's testimonial meeting yesterday. Hope he has an injury free season. Certainly deserves one.

Mind you, I've got the Heat times as well if you're desperate!

Damn beat me to it Lol!

I'll PM you with them later this morning.

So? Would have thought that posting the details of someone's Testimonial meeting would be appropriate in the Speedway Testimonials section on here? Believe it or not, not everyone reads the Redcar Bears thread, and given the number of clubs Ben has ridden for (and gave good service to) I thought it might be more appropriate to give it a wider viewing! FFS Get a life! Well done and congratulations Ben! -
Jordan Stewart has been named as the first Bear for 2019. Announced 'early' as news had been leaked on social media. Also been confirmed that the rest of the team have been signed and will be revealed at the December social. Good start!

Yes please, but I don't think the balls in our court.

Not too happy regarding the changes to the Conversation Rates. Don't like being dictated to about how much I can chat.

Sorry? Sheffield could 'quite rightly' say we aren't coming (our reserve isn't available so we've decided not to turn up to a previously agreed fixture?)? To be fair I agree with the second part of your statement. And I agree with your comments regarding the racing which (whilst I wasn't there) appears to have been of a high standard. -

Sorry, and I have no axe to grind here, but surely a rule is a rule and the fact that Chris Harris has worked his nuts off to be in the fabulous position to have a 'team' behind him shouldn't mean that other riders should have 'allowances' made because they're not as 'fortunate' as him. -

Rene is statistically the 9th best rider at the STMP (from those that have had more than 6 meetings) averaging nearly 8.5 per meeting. So having the potential for 7 rides is quite a frightening prospect for Bears fans. -
SGB championship fours 1st July redcar

Because he has a better average around the MPA than either Lambert or Bacon ?? -
Jordan Stewart was remarkable last night. But please lets keep things in perspective. I'm pleased because I've been saying from day 1 when he wasn't scoring points that I'm watching a Speedway rider (and not some of the pretenders that we've seen here at Redcar in the past), safe, steady & professional. Let's not lumber him with the burden of "the next big thing'' though. Just let him ride! He'll be going to tracks he's never seen before all season long but if he continues to ride safe, steady and professional he'll do ok. Seems like a nice bloke too! Good luck Jordan.

Hi everyone. Just a thread to poke my head above the barricade ready to be shot down. I have no point to prove but those who know me (either personally or from Boothers Bend on the Redcar fans forum) will know I'm an anally retentive anorak who loves messing with stats. Been a speedway fan since 1973 and although I've enjoyed quite a few Individual meetings my first love has always been team speedway - our 7 versus your 7. There's nothing like a good speedway team match to turn this 58 year old into a fist pumping maniac (or even to shed the odd tear truth be told). Unfortunately of late the concept of 'our 7 versus your 7' seems to be disappearing. So I've had a little look. As always - these figures are my own, totally unofficial and are therefore liable to be wrong (but I'll stand by them!) So far this year there have been 117 Championship matches. Of these matches only 25 have had 7 home riders versus 7 away riders by which I mean both sides have turned up with 7 contracted riders and not used a Guest facility or Rider Replacement. 25 out of 117. 136 Guests have been used in 117 meetings. Rider Replacement has been used 45 times. Teams have used 3 Guests in a single meeting on no less than 7 occasions (and on 3 of those occasions the team concerned also utilised Rider Replacement) Whilst Berwick's nightmare season with injuries has skewed these figures somewhat through no fault of their own, where is the consistency? Cheers , Boothers (Be kind to me)
